Default Difference between old Misti and new Misti...

I tried to search for the answer but wasn’t successful. So, could someone please tell me the difference between the old Misti and the new Misti? I won a $60 gift certificate code in the Falliday Fest event and I was wondering about getting two of the old style Mistis so I could give one to a friend. Thanks

The new Misti has metal hinges and a place to store the rectangle magnet. I think the rest is basically the same. I know I saw many videos discussing the changes. Not sure you can find the old style anymore as most stores discounted those highly. I have the old style and use it all of the time. I saw a post where one person is giving one to a friend and she added the Creative Corners. I use them quite a bit as well.

Thanks for the response. I did find a video by Jennifer McGuire after I changed the wording of my search. The My Sweet Petunia still has the old style listed and it’s 1/2 the price of the new one- hence my thinking of getting two old style and giving one to a friend. I can see the potential of the old style wearing faster. I’m still thinking about it.

Actually there are no old style original Misti ones in the store. The open stock is gone. You can get an old style Mini-Misti for $30, so you could get two of those with your gift certificate + shipping. The old style lasts and long time and works. I have had mine for a number of years. If I purchase another one, it will be a new style as that is what is available. I use both the mini and the original. I have often left one image on one Misti while stamping another image on another. I think that is where people love their Stamparatus by Stampin Up, as it has hinges they can flip to leave their stamps in place without having more than one tool. Good luck with your decision!

Bummer - when I was looking at the site before, I put two old style Mistis in my cart and didn’t get the out of stock notice. Well, now to think about mini Mistis

I ordered the new one, too! Since I didn’t tell my friend I was thinking about getting us each a mini Misti, she can’t be disappointed

I have the old Misti and a stamparatus. I love the Misti more but use both. The Misti's door lays flat when you open it. The stamparatus has to have something placed under the lid to ink it best.

I have a very old Misti, I think it is a Prototype Misti! I ordered it directly from Iliana and was so excited when I first got it! It was so fun to show off in those early days! I use it the most, but the hinges are all cracked and the outer edges around are cracking too. I have another stamp platform someone gave to me, but I hardly use it because it's not as easy to use as the Misti is! At Christmas time when I make a LOT of cards, I go to my old, trusty, cracked Misti and use it still because it is still such a good tool. But because it is so old and the cracks are getting worse, I am looking to order a new Misti. Where's the best place to get one today?

Gillian, you can get the new Misti at My Sweet Petunia and pay shipping, but she has it in stock. You can get it at My Favorite Things and do not pay shipping as it is over $50. I'm sure there are other places as well. Happy Shopping!
