Hello and welcome to the New Year of 2026! Here in the Mix-Ability forum, we aim to make mixed media easy and approachable using the supplies we have on hand.

Our challenge in the Mix-Ability forum is to limit our color palette. My inspiration for this is the famous artist Anders Zorn. It is said that he used only four colors on his palette for portrait paintings.

For curiosity's sake, here is an example of the colors he most likely used. (The links are an online example of the colors.) Here is a web page about it on Empty Easel.

• Ivory black, bluish undertone - not a typical pure black #231F20
• Cadmium Red, a range from orange-red to deep maroon. #E34234
• Yellow Ochre #CB9D06
• White #FFFFF

Once you have completed your project, upload it to your member gallery with the keyword "MIX675." That way, we will be able to see it in the challenge gallery!

I can't wait to see what we make with it. I haven't a clue yet myself!
