Challenge Title: Fat over Lean Hostess: UnderstandBlue Keyword: MIX426 VIEW THE GALLERY FOR THIS CHALLENGE HERE
There's a saying among oil painters to help them remember the order in which to use mediums to preserve a painting's longevity. "Fat" means higher oil content paint, and "lean" means lower oil content pigments. Painting the fat over the lean, means the upper layers dry more slowly and it strengthens the painting and makes it less likely to become brittle or flake.
So I'm modifying that for cardmakers today, and challenging you to use pigment inks over die inks - and a great way to do that is with layered clouds!
Thanks for the early post, Lydia! Time to get something made before the afternoon chores beckon.
I used to have a mnemonic for remembering fat over lean, but it's so long ago I've forgotten what it was. Anyway, I trust we didn't have to do clouds, my garden is coming up with roses .
