"I made it! I made it!", she said jumping up and down with excitement! Thrilled about the new mixed media challenges and so happy I got a few minutes to create a card for the first challenge!

My glossy accents finally dried so I could finish my card and get it posted. I'm a bit shy with my use of mixed media products, but I hope that changes soon because I have tons of supplies just waiting to be used in this way!
You can see my project

Well I got a late start on this - didn't get home for the day until 7:30 tonight! Ooof! Just painted some dp, waiting for it to dry and then I'll move on to the next step. :-)

Okay I think I just went on an Artsy Fartsy rampage!
Not sure when I'll get this posted, to late to take a pic now, plus it's bedtime for me!

I really do have glossy-ness and matte, just hard to see it.
I had so much fun I forgot to wash the foam brush and the paint dried in it. Thanks Lydia for a fun challenge! You can bet I will back for the next one.

My crafting day yesterday got eaten up by stuff that needed to be done and stuff like a new box of Lego mini-figures at the toy store (but didn't find the sled I was looking for), the 90% off clearance sale at Michaels (scored 2 2-packs of gelatos for 20 CENTS each) and lunch with a friend. So made mine this morning, not quite what I was envisioning but I'm not entirely displeased.

Admittedly, I kept this reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaalllllyyyyy clean and simple so I wouldn't get overwhelmed and give up on mixed media on my first try. LOL!

OK, I tried. I really just re-worked an older version that wasn't even mine (Gratitude Simply Sent Kit), but focusing on the mixed media really pushed me to think.

Great idea for a challenge!! As coincidence would have it I was actually working on a project which will fit in this category. It features some of my ancestors from Sweden. I had fun making this..hope you like it.

Mixed media goes CAS
I suspect people are uneccessarily scared by the term "mixed media" when in fact they quite often do it without even thinking about it! Great to have a challenge that means it gets a bit of conscious thought
Joanne, that is exactly how I feel / felt. After reading the long intro thread, I realized that I already used mixed media occasionally. Now I will try to expand my horizons and include other types of media, as you say giving it some conscious thought. Glad to see you back in the challenges!

I am super excited about these new challenges! I'm normally quite "chicken" to ramp up my techniques, so I'm hoping that I will be pushed out of my comfort zone! For this first challenge, I'm playing it safe, but am looking forward to learning more!! Thanks so much!!
