Ready for a new Mix-Ability challenge?!! Our goal is to make mixed media easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!

This week's challenge is to doodle over a stencil-blended area on your card or journal page! I simply love all the amazing things we can do with stencils these days. I love to blend ink through one, then go in with a pen and doodle bits or sections of the blended area. It's really easy!

Remember, to count as mixed media for this challenge, you must use 2 different mediums. Hint: stamping ink is one, and pen ink is another.

I started with a quad-set of stencils from Taylored Expressions (search their website for create-in-quads, this one is no longer available). I blended Distress Inks (aged mahogany, chipped sapphire, crushed olive, and mustard seed) over the stencils. I cut them apart (one stencil set makes four card-bases). Then I used my pen (Micro, mostly) to fill in the spaces.

Now, don't freak out - you don't need to use an elaborate stencil, or fill it in completely. Even a little chevron would look great with random areas filled in. You can do this! I'm only showing one of the sections completed.
