My sincerest apologies for not responding to the folks that have sent things over the past couple of months. My beloved Corgi, Casi, had a major stroke and had to be sent across the Rainbow Bridge. It's been heart wrenching for me, to say the least.
Rest assure that we did get your boxes and are very greatful to you for sending them. Please know that I humbly appreciate each and every single one of you.
Crafty Hugs,
Christi
I'm so sorry for your loss, Christi. I'm just seeing this now. Hugs to you.
I checked the tracking number, and it says that the package was picked up at the post office. I'm assuming it was you who picked it up, so I'm also assuming that the package arrived safe and sound. I hope all is well.
Glad I just found this thread! I have been putting stuff in a Box that I was going to either donate to the thrift store in town or give it to a family member having a garage sale next summer. Now I know where it's going. Once I'm done decluttering it's headed your way stamps dies card stock all sorts of stuff
Hi Everyone,
Yes, we are still very active! I hope everyone is doing well. Things have been kinda crazy with my health and stuff. Covid can (and does) reak havioc on those of us with asthma and other aliments. I'm doing better, but my lungs still give me issues at times. I've been working with a great team of doctors who keep telling me that "Slow & Steady" wins the race. So, I keep hope in that.
With that said, I want to say "THANK YOU" to everyone that has continued to send things our way! Each and every donation that arrives allows us to help more and more folks through all sorts of Art Therapy Projects. Looking back over the years it utterly amazes me just how gracious everyone in the Art World have been. Can you believe that in May 2023 The You Matter Project will be celebrating 15 years? That's a whole lot of people who this project has helped through your kindness and donations!!!
Congratulations to everyone who has helped with The You Matter Project over the past 15 years!!! Raising a cup of tea for a hearty cheers to the next 15 years! May Art always be in your soul and may you always be that vessel to bring joy and happiness to others by sharing your gifts and talents!
Many Crafty Huggles and Blessings to each of you,
Christi
Hello Everyone, It's been busy here with fun projects and things that our participants have been doing and are gearing up to partake in. But, we wanted to pause for a moment to give a huge THANK YOU shout out to all of you that have been recently donating by sending boxes of delightful things to our program. It's because of you that we are able to offer these Art venues free of charge to our participants. We hope that each of you are doing well and are doing things that make your hearts sing.
Christi-Back in 2014 we talked about you posting some of the stuff your clients are making here or a Pinterest board...did that ever happen? I'd love to see it! I realize a website or blog is a lot of work to maintain.

Christi just letting you know that i sent two flat boxes of stamps, inks and other stuff which should arrive any day now. I am glad that I can donate with the hope that it helps others. I am trying to do purging and happy that there is a place that can use items I no longer use.

As far as I know, this is still an ongoing project, since the thread is not closed. This has been around for several years.
To those of you who have been sending your destash items our way, THANNK YOU!!! We have been blessed for over 15 years in helping individuals through Art Therapy. Our clients love the things you send. They are always excited to see "What new things came in that can spark my creativity?" I love how excited they get and am in awe at the things they create. So again, Many Thank You's to you all for helping to keep this project going.
Hello Crafter Greetings from cold snowy New York. I hope all of you are doing well and are gearing up for Spring to arrive. I know that I am. I absolutely love to watch all of the flowers peep through the soil and bloom with radiant colors and fragrance. Plus, I know it will make it a lot easier for us to get to the Post Office to see what crafty treasures you all have sent to The You Matter Project.
Speaking of which, I'd like to give a big warm Thank You shout out to those of you who've sent us boxes recently. We have received several delightful boxes from L. Rubin in CA. In addition, we have received packages and boxes from C. Greenman in CO, D. Cameron in OH, Lupin in NY, T. Terpenning in MI, L. Bakker in GA, and M. Martin in MS. THANK YOU EVERYONE! I hope that I didn't miss anyone as each and every donation is so humbly appreciated.
As we move forward in 2024, we are hoping to be able to fill some more project requests from some of our clients/groups. Here are a few:
1.) ALTERED BOOKS/JUNK JOURNALS ~ We are needing to gather various ephemera for these. Things like vintage looking papers, postage stamps, fibers of all sorts, lace, ribbons, burlap, flat flowers/leafs of all textures, tickets, chipboard for making covers, Distress Inks, Gesso, Postage type cling stamps, rice paper's, mulberry papers, pretty washi tape, Tim Holtz flat bits & bob's type things, and anything else you think they may be able to use. Some themes that they have requested: Vintage, Flowers, Fairies, Animals, Travel, Nature, Garden, Food, and Gnomes. Most requested items: Interesting / Cute Paper Postage Stamps
2.) GIFT TAGS/BOOKMARKS ~ We are in need of ivory, cream, and pastel shades of cardstock for these. We also are in need of a couple hole punches, and punches/dies to shape the tags. Of course, we will be needing fibers/ribbons to attach to the bookmarks and tags too.
3.) HANDMADE PAPER MAKING ~ Some of our clients want to try their hand at making their own handmade papers for their projects. So, if any of you have any dried flowers, gold or silver candy wrappers, or other things that you think might be helpful for this project we would be delighted. Heck, we can even use your stamping mishaps to use for our paper pulp. Also, if you know of anyone that has an old little flower press laying around that they aren't using anymore, please have them consider sending it our way.
4.) Rainbow & Monocromatic Art Projects ~ We are needing to build up our rainbow supply of colored cardstock, patterned dsp., washi papers, chiyogami papers, and origami papers.
As you can see our clients' creative minds are spinning with project ideas that will help them through their tough times via Art Therapy. These mixed media, upcycling/repurposing projects are in addition to our card making and regular projects. Hence, we are always grateful for any and all contributions to The You Matter Project. Please help us restock our supplies with your donations. They can be your scraps, your retired products, partial kits, leftovers, extra's, new items, etc. As long as they are in usable condition, we can put them to good use.
I spent the morning purging my craft room and filled a box to send to you. As soon as I've mailed it, I'll post here again to give you the tracking number.
Thank you so much for doing this! Your hard work and generosity helps many people.

Does anyone have any CLEAR embossing powder to spare?
We are almost completely out of it. I've checked at both of our "big box stores" locally and neither is carrying it anymore. The CLEAR embossing powder is the type of embossing powder that is mostly used by our clients. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
I'm in the process of doing a deep clean. I see a lot of things in my studio from Christi's list. marking this thread so I can find you later. ~Creative Blessings!

Thank You's going out to:
Katy Brown in IN for her 2 amazing boxes of delightful boxes of goodies!! Oh, my goodness, you should have heard the squeals of delight when we unboxed these boxes.
One of the teens asked me to make sure I said a BIG personal THANK YOU to you for the various lace & fibers for her to use in making her 1st Art Journal. She said, "I can't believe that a total stranger cares so much about me to send this. Ya know, I haven't been destroying my body as much lately because I have this to focus on. Please make sure to say a personal Thank You to Miss Katy from me." -- TB
THIS right here is why we do what we do. This girl had been cutting her arms for the past 2 years. Through your kind and generous donations, this girl is learning through Art Therapy that she now has other ways to express herself. She's using different textures of things to express her emotions. It's utterly amazing to watch kids like TB transform and open up.
First, I wanted to say, congratulations on making it through Covid with your health issues. I have CVID- common variable immunodeficiency, I barely left my house during the worst of the pandemic. They were not easy times.
Second- I recently moved and realized it took more than 4 moving boxes for just my paper stash! I have got to pair down. I have 12x12 and 6x6 patterned paper available. Can you use it? And would it be best if I cut the 12x12 down to 6x6? Unfortunately, I gave away a lot of my extra supplies before leaving PA for AL. But I'll definitely look to see what else I can say.
Congratulations to you for creating and supporting such a good cause.
Tracy
THANK YOU's going out to a Mystery Person from MLB, FL!!
Thank you so very much for the delightful box of goodies including a trim bundle, several rolls of washi tape, paper pads, cling stamps, multiple different cut out ephemera, tags, and Tim Holtz items.
The teen group is so excited to be gathering more things together for their personal Art Journals!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Hi Tracy,
Thank you. No, they certainly weren't very good times. I'm truly blessed to be alive and able to continue this very important work. Of course, with my medical issues and now lung issues, I have to pace myself a bit more but it's okay.
Congratulations on your move to a warmer climate! How are you liking it so far? What are the biggest differences? Is there anything from PA life that you miss? Perhaps a food you can't get any more or something?
Yes, we can definitely use both 12x12 paper and 6x6 paper. If it's not too much trouble, could you leave the 12x12 intact? Pretty please?
I can definitely leave the 12x12's whole. I even have the perfect box to send them in. I should have them out by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
We moved to AL at the end of last May so that my husband and I could be closer to one of our sons as we get older (I'm 63 with health problems and my husband's 74, with newly emerging issues). the bonus is that, for the first time in 10 + years, we're really close to our grandchildren! They and their mom have really had a positive effect on me - I'm moving more than I have in years and so far, I've lost 50lbs.
The warmer climate is a true blessing . Along with CVID, I have the autoimmune disease, Sjogren's Syndrome, which is similar to Lupus. The steadier climate, without extreme changes, has meant fewer flares. It's also helped my back, which is fused on several layers. But of course, the best thing about the move is being close to my family. We had been living in PA, but all of our close family had moved out of state.
I'll keep my eye out for other supplies I might be able to send. I'll let you know as soon as the paper is on its way.
I forgot, the food we've had the most trouble finding is pierogies. My husband is just about 100% Slovak and his mom always made the traditional Christmas Eve supper with pierogies and mushroom soup. We waited too long to buy our pierogies this year, and they were out of the only brand available here in AL, Mrs T's. Back in PA, you could find all different homemade peirogies, and boy, were they better than any store brand!
Pizza has been the other hard thing to find. They only have chains here. We had so many Mom and Pop pizza restaurants that made the best pizza.
That's ok. I'll gladly exchange pizza and pierogies to be with our grandchildren!
Take care,
Tracy
Today's THANK YOU goes out to:
Lisa K. (lovinpaper) for her Amazon package of 2 bottles of Clear Embossing powder. Thank you so very much!!

Thanks so much for letting me know that my boxes arrived. It's truly moving to know that my unwanted craft supplies can make such a difference to someone else.
Just a small box this time, but hopefully it will have some useful stuff. The tracking is:
I haven't forgotten about sending the paper - in fact, the pizza box I used from Club Scrap is filled to the very top. But before I could get in the mail, I got smacked with a nasty sinus infection. My husband has been sick, also, so no one has made it to the post office. I'm just about done with my second antibiotic and I think I'm on the mend. I probably won't get to the PO til Monday, but the paper, a combination of 12 x 12, 6 x 6 and some from mat stacks, will be heading your way..

Tracy the most important thing is you and your husband getting better. Please don't stress over sending the package out.
Hi Everyone,
We have a wonderful dynamic duo of a 35 yo. autistic young man and a 42 yo. wounded veteran who are trying to get some postage stamps collected and sorted into stamp books. Do any of you have any cancelled or unused postage stamps from around the world that you've received on your snail mail? Would you be willing to share them with these two delightful men? They are also looking to acquire some of those stamp sleeve pages to store them in. They want to use 3 ring binders, so they need to have the holes for that idea.
