I'm looking for a simple storage solution to store all different kinds of embossingpowder jars (in different sizes). But not in a drawer. I have 1 full drawer with jars, and when i pick 1 jar, the rest will fall over, and i can sort all over again. So who can help me out with this?? every idea is more than welcome, just as pictures!! (examples, the more the better!)
i dont have pictures ,but i have a tall very narrow bookcase that i keep all my little jars of "stuff" on. they are out in plain site and easy to find. the ones that are in the back of the shelves i store upside down, so i can easily see their colors.
me too, i feel your pain! my room is 8x14, long and narrow!
um, lets see, how about shelves on the walls? a length of gutter on the wall maybe?
or, do you already have a book case that you can clear a shelf on, then get some of those thingies that go in a kitchen cabinet to hold spices? you know, they look like a set of stairs, and the jars in back sit higher than in front.?
its so hard when we have limited space isnt it?!
oooh....i know send me all your extras...LOL just teasin ;)
I've seen people use spice racks for their powers...also a lot of people no a days as putting them into reusable containers from the dollar stores...but that's probably not what your looking for...You know those shoe racks that hang on the back of the door that most people would use to store punches that might work out too....hmmm....thinking....lol
2busyscrappin..thats a super idea about shoe racks for storage space! thank you!!!!
i have some little things that need a home, so guess what i'lldo for them LOL
If you check my blog, you'll find some pictures (older posts) or a slide show (small one) with pictures of my room... so you know exactly what space i have... and have filled...
I've used the clear inkholders on my cabinet for the jars, but that doesn't work, because of the falling over part... :(

You could try putting them in the jars with magnetic lids (or attach a magnet to the existing jars) and then attach a strip of metal to your wall to "stick" them too.
You could use the Stampin' Up! Stampin' Stack & Store, which holds 24 containers or 48 mini containers. It's housed on a turntable and has a small footprint. I actually have two.
good luck.

Karin, I keep mine in a Box lid and store it on my stamping desk.
But I like the Spice storage rack idea. If you have wall space that would be great.
Places to find these items...Cheap! Would be a Thrift Store or resale shop.
I know I've found really cool deals at our local thrift stores.
I used a flatware/silverware drawer organizer flipped on it's side for years. Recently I switched to the Stampin' Up! metal punch box tins. I use one for embossing powders and all it's accutrements, one for glitters, one for each color category (SU! Bold Brights, Rich Regals), etc. It is less accessable than the previous (flatware organizer) but I can set it on the floor or whever I need to.
I have mine in an IKEA bygel basket. your room doesn't seem to have any more wall space :( Though I do love the organizer you have for your H20's and dew drops. That would probably work nicely with the embossing powders.
I have two of the old wooden coke crates that hold 24 bottles. I can stand up some of the ep jars and some I stack two sideways in the little holes. These aren't easy to find anymore but they work great for my little jars. I also saved several prescription bottles and added tiny stuff to them and attached samples to the top of the bottle with glue dots and stack them sideways in the coke crates. I used the wooden litter bottle crate for my In Color Ink pads for the past 5 years of colors. I'll try to post photos soon.

You have a well-stocked space. Do you have room to attach spice racks to the inside of your storage doors or on the wall next to your punches? I use a metal board on the wall, which I got at Ikea, and attached strong magnets to my accessory containers. I like storing them this way so I can see what I have. I will try to attach photos. You can see the board above some of my punches.

thats not a bad idea for a drawer either.....
just take strips of magnetic tape and put about five rows across the bottom (depending on how big the drawer is).... then put a magnet on the bottom of the jar.
the jars wont slide around when you open and close the drawer.
I have a small space as well, and have always kept mine in a drawer, with the same result as you have experienced--as soon as one is removed, the space is taken up by another bottle. I have no other place, except drawers for such things, so I cut some 1"-2" slats of heavy cardboard (my drawers are no very deep, so 1" works well) to fit tightly the length of my drawer. Then I line up the jars, one behind the other, in the order I keep all my colors. I have about 7 rows and the slats fit so well that they keep the jars upright and right where they belong even when I take one or two jars out. I have the name, and in some cases, a sample of what's in each jar on the lid, so I know what I'm reaching for. If your drawers are deep enough to stack two deep, you would probably need slats about 2" tall and stack similar colors or types (or whatever is your preferred system) which would mean lifting one to get to another, but would also result in more space. You could also stack your top layer in a utensil tray of some sort, as someone has already suggested, and then lift it out to get to the bottom layer. I might look into that myself for those of my drawers that are deeper and hold small items that I stack. Now I use various boxes/lids which works reasonably well. I also have a few wooden slats that are even better than the cardboard. If you can get your hands on some of them, it would be a treasure. Good luck with your project!
If your drawer is shallow and the slide around when opening/closing you could put a layer of the shelf gripper in the bottom of the drawer. This should keep any from sliding around. But if they are stacked my idea won't help much.
I use a spice rack. Since different EP come in all sizes I wanted them more uniformed so I went to a local surplus store and found matching glass bottles for about 15 cents each and they fit 2 deep on each shelf.
