ladies it has taken me a while to know what to write
I am so excited I have made it to the top 10 the dog and I were the only one's home at the time and when I saw my name I screamed and the dog came running up to me like what is wrong!! I want to thank you all for your kindness and support this had to be hard for the judges because I even feel guilty for being in the top 10 but it so made this one of the best mondays ever! even if I don't win this has been a great experience and I have met ladies I probably woulnd't meet other wise so thank you to all and to split coast and scrap box for you support and this wonderful opprotunity!!!
Wow! Congratulations to our TOP 10 here...HOW do we vote? I have clicked on everyone but don't know where to go from there...any guidance is appreciated!

Alright folks -- I see the gap widening between me and Queen LaLatty -- she sure is a clever gal.
Would it make a difference if I told you I have a VERY SPECIAL plan for this scrapbox if it were to be given to me??
I didn't write a poem, or make up a fairy tale, but I have really GOOD INTENTIONS for a fellow SCSr -- and I hope you'll help me make an impact on HER life.
Her name is Laura -- okiechic here on SCS -- and you may have seen her post about her 'Things 1 and 2' She is one of my dearest and most wonderful friends -- though we've never met face to face, and I WANT HER TO HAVE THIS!!!
You can check for yourself -- well before I even became a finalist, I posted it in her thread that I would give it to her -- and I stand by my word.
I wasn't going to post it here, as I didn't want to make Laura feel all weird, but DARN IT -- she's AWESOME, and is SO DESERVING of this for all she does!
I can't believe I made it to the top 10!! I wish everyone luck I wish there was one for everyone who entered but I know that isn't possible but thank you to everyone who has supported me so far and also to anyone who continues to support or vote for me this would really be a highlight in my life right now!!

Yeah, that's the problem with putting it to a vote. I'd much rather have a panel of judges weigh the merits of the entries, and decide. But that's not the way this contest was set up. So, I campaign for my choice, and hope she gets it!

You know what?? I agree with you.
Yes, I did place a few posts explaining my intent if I am so lucky to win this prize, but that's about as far as I go. -- I truly do hope that while I would love to follow through with my plans -- that the people voting truly ARE reading through the stories and choosing which one they feel is most deserving.
I do have a lot of friends here -- another blessing, I might add, but if they are going to leave it up to a vote, I guess that's always how things will end up - a popularity contest. Looks like Queen LaLatty is in the lead -- and she's worked hard for it -- if it should come to Friday, and she remains in the lead - then all the best to her! At least I got to tell my story -- and am proud to have even made it into the top 10
I wanted to share with you what my friend Patty LALATTY sent me in the mail this week. You can see how generous she is. She is thoughtful too. All the images that she stamped for me were stamped with the coming holidays in mind.
there have been a couple of people who really touched me by their stories one story I have tried to find now and can't but her little boy had turrets syndrome and watching the video of her son made me cry! the other one that touched me was cmccoy[ who has a daughter with mental illness I think the reason these 2 stories touched me so much is because my son has asphbergers with a learning disability we didn't get a diagonis until he was 8 and we had had to hold him back in school twice but when we were able to find the correct help he has done so well and I know this has been the biggest blessing in my life my son now is a strait A student ( he couldn't even read in 2nd grade) He is athletic and is doing great I want to give these two parents some hope that their children might be able to over come their trials as well as my son has. I can't send both of them the scrap box if I win and I found out after this contest started that it looks very likely I will be moving to Oregon before thanks giving and I will be in an appartment so the scrapbox would really come in handy but I am trying to come up with some idea of what I can do for these 2 ladies who have a big trial ahead of them!! The one lady I can't even find her story again she didn't make it into the top 10 so if she or anyone who know her could contact me I would really appriciate it I have my thinking cap on as to what I can do for these two special ladies if any of you have ideas please let me knoe!! I have to say, knowing Tracey as I do, I am not surprised that she wants to win- not for herself, but to GIVE THIS AWAY TO SOMEONE ELSE!
Seriously, how cool is that? Tracey- you are a wonderful person (no news to those who know her!).
Sadly, though, this whole thing, in my opinion, is turning into a combination of a popularity contest and a "how can I get people to vote for me" contest. I feel sad for the contestants who are "newer" to the site, for it seems as if they do not stand a chance pretty much for that reason alone. I kind of think it may have been better for the judges to have picked the winner.
Each of these 10 finalists "deserves" to win. One person will end up a very happy gal and that's great. There were some very touching stories and some really clever entries. It's just too bad the Scrapbox company could not have donated 10 of these beauties so each finalist could have one!
As much as I hope Tracey wins for Laura, how can I not wish the best of luck to ALL the finalists?

I am in tears after reading your post. Thank you for your support. Sounds like you have been through the ringer as well! I wasn't even going to say why I needed stress relief when I entered this contest. We have been leading a horrible secret life. I am in search of hope. This Scrapbox is a material item and I do know that but it would give me some freedom. Some of the old me back. It would be stress relief because I never get to go down to the basement and paper craft. All of us who made it to the top ten deserve to win!!!! I can say although it would make me happy beyond belief to be the winner I can see the odds in the polls and I do have the "woe is me story". The truth is I need my papercrafting, I need it. I love it and it is something I am good at!!! Unfortunately "Woe is me" and for the people who are upset that I shared my story or think that I shouldn't have opened up, thank your lucky stars you don't walk in my shoes!!! Believe me everyday that this contest has gone I have thought about dropping out because it did get negative. But that is okay, it is what it is. I take my life one day at a time that is all I have!!! I am thrilled that I made it to the top ten!!! But most of all I am so happy to be making new friends!!!!

P.S. It is funny that you mention the lady that has the son with tourettes because she has been on my mind as well. In fact I was rooting for her to be in the Top Ten. I would love to help her in any way possible. My heart goes out to her!!

Hi Lynn! I just had to say that these are so very cute! What a great idea it would be to use them for gift giving, I really like them!
Thank you. That is exactly what I have done with them. I made a mini ones also. The mini one makes a great coffee mug. I put a Starbucks gift certificate in there with a bag of flavored coffee.
I know, I will trade you a few for you to store your supplies in and you can give me the workbox. It's a win - win ;-)
LOL.....I'd need tons of them to store my goodies in, but if I win you are more that welcome to come over to my house and play. Then you can show me how you made them ;)
I haven't been on Splitcoast for a while and just now saw this contest. I only had time to read the 10 finalists' stories, so I don't know about all of the other worthy ones. I only wish they had at least 3 to give away, as I feel that many of them really do need this prize. Some were hilarious, and some were heartbreaking. I hope the voters let their conscience guide them in their vote, to vote for the one that is truly in dire need of this wonderful gift. Some of them have far more than their share going on in their lives, and this would be a true blessing, to help them out. Good luck to all of you, and may the best person win.
I voted for Queen LaLatty. Besides her story being so creative and funny, she is just a sweet and generous person. She's the first to try to help someone out. I know she could really use the prize. As I read thru the finalists stories again, and this being such a creative place to be .. I have to vote for the Queen .. her story was adorable and she put alot of thought and time and creativity into it... and those adorable children ... they helped Mommy out so nicely .. I just wanted to say a very special thank you to all of you who have voted for me so far and to those of you who posted such lovely messages about me. I am so very grateful for all of splitcoast supporters!
If anyone hasn't already done so, please take a moment of your time and read my scrapbox story. Although it was a lot of work, my family and I really had fun taking my pictures! My son was asking me yesterday if we could take some more pictures....LOL
