I thought those were a great idea once...but after I needed a certain ribbon, I took it off the holder and had to iron the ribbon. Otherwise, if you dont iron the ribbon...you have this crease on them...My husband is making me ribbon spool racks. Thanks for the idea though.

I made the "hips" nice and wide at the ends of the spool so you don't have to wrap them as tight as the store bought floss bobbins so they shouldn't wrinkle if you don't wrap them too tight and they will still stay on fine. Here is a tip, if you have a wrinkled ribbon hold each end and slide it over a light bulb (I have a halogen lamp on my desk that is supetr hot and great for this (just do it quickly if you have that kind of light) a regular 60 watt-100 watt lightbulb is fine too that way you don't need to heat up an iron For my spools of ribbon I have dowels hanging horozontally from the ceilling from lagre hooks (I craft in the basement so I screwed the dowels right to the floor joists) and each dowel holds 20-30 spools of ribbon. I'd love to see the spools hubby is making you
What a great idea....I just finished using the store bought ones on fibers last night. Maybe I'll try yours and I can have matching ribbon and fiber holders!!
I made something similar, but not as fancy. I wrapped a small piece of batting around the cardboard before I added the ribbon. No creases to worry about.
