Hi everyone!
My punches have outgrown my first storage rack!Awesome Punch Holder by wendykins - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I want my husband to build me something new and am looking for ideas!
I would like a rolling, under the table-like thingy, with the rods to hold the old style punches and to keep the new style punches under control. I am thinking like my spice rack next to the stove,Google Image Result for http://www.ivywoodcraft.com/spice%20pull%20out.jpg but it can't be top heavy or not roll well, as i have carpet in my craft room.
So....has anyone built something like this or seen a picture, that they could point me too? or have any other ideas...i am limited on wall space, so I was looking for something that could slide under my work table or out of the way.

Have him build it like a shoe rack with slanted shelves and a lip on the front to hold the stamps in place. Hope this makes sense.
I saw your door shoe hangers and loved them. But alas, I have no door close to my craft area. Maybe I could nail it to a wall??? Might consider that.
could not find the picture I wanted, but a friend of mine got the little skinny towel racks and put them up on her wall, far enough apart to be able to get the punches out. I think she said something about family dollar or dollar general. hope this helps.
I purchased inexpensive towel racks (12" and 18") from the Home Depot and use those for my SU! retired old style punches. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the newer slimline style they currently sell.
I don't like the storage boxes that are sold in the catalog.
I am so tickled with my new punch storage that I just have to share it. Our son built it for me, and it holds more than just punches. It fits behind my craftroom entrance door. I had my daughter help me download the picture to my members gallery, so please take a look. Since I bought a higher pixel camera, I didn't know how to downsize my pictures. Daughter gave me instructions now, so I can finally share again! If you have any questions about the punch rack, I will try to answer them. Wish I knew how to put a link in this message so finding the picture would be easier for you. Sorry. I thought I was learning to conquer this computer, but I am back to having it baffle me. LOL
The case does get quite heavy, but the SuperSatchel Cube rails are holding up very well, although I can simply just put the case directly on the bottom of the cube if that becomes an issue. As I work with the punches, and figure out which one I use most, I am going to build a small desktop storage unit similar the SU Inkpad holder I built (see my gallery for pics and descriptions) so that I can keep the frequently used ones within quick reach, and the others in the SuperSatchel, which is the best solution for me, as I have decently ample shevling space, no wall space, and limited desk surface. If I had a lot of wall space, and didn't live in the desert where I have to worry about caliche dust, I would use the rain gutter solution. I also use a back of the door clear pocketed shoe holder for my older non-SU punches. Also, here is my solution for the SU and EK Success edge punches:
I agree with the door storage - it is my go to place - many of my punches are the old style, and they're so easy accessible. I use them with every card I make. The newer style, I have sitting on the back of my desk on their sides like books. I'm still planning a trip to IKEA and this is on my list, but for right now I'm going to use a three tier spice rack to see them easily.
If you have the wall space, I like your idea of hanging the shoe holders on your wall, or you could consider theIKEA racks like Mary Fish. I don't have wall space, but these are dreamy.
I LOVE what your son created for you and wish I had a room to trick out the way I want it to be . What a blessing.
I would still like to read what others are doing to store their new slimline SU! punches...I use the towel racks from Menards in my stampin space, as most of my punches are the retired black paddle style.
I'm trying to figure out what to do since I have to think vertically when it comes to storing things in my craft area. I use the closet in the guest room/office to do my crafting, so I'm very limited on space. I've already installed the towel racks on the right-hand side of the wall of the closet and can't really go up any further, so I'm considering using one of those Copco mesh wire storage bins (6x15) and hanging it from the shelf in the closet with large "S" hooks, so that the slimline punches can be stored together, but off my workspace, and still easily accessible to me as I have need to use them.
Thank you, I am blessed to have a family that likes to help me with my room projects. Hubby is just now mounting my new counters. This is the fifth set up he has done for me. He thinks he is blessed because this is our last move! Hmmm, maybe, maybe not. LOL

I bought cafe rods with extra supports. I mounted them right to the wall. With my punches out, I use them SOOOO much more. I have been putting the new flat styled punches in a photo box that you get in the framing area of Joannes or Michael's (I use those alot).

OMG -- you win! You have the BEST storage solution ever! I am rarely jealous, but I might be just a little right now ;-)
