Thanks for the info on the ArtBin. I bought one last week at Michaels. I have about 200 +/- Copics and I have them all in my new bin. I have mine set up like this:
I have ALL of my Copics in the first 4 compartments. In one of those 4 compartments, I have my four bottles of Glimmer Mist and one spray bottle of water and there is still some wiggle room in all of the compartments...yep, that means there's more room for Copics! LOL In the back four compartments, I have 10 sets of Nesties in CD cases, Sizzix 3D flower die, large stamp block, one TH stamp pad, one Memento stamp pad, i-rock tool, two of the circle containers of i-rock gems, Scotch Scrapbookers Glue and still have room for more stuff. I'm going to have to see if the rest of my Nesties will fit in here. ;)
I have visions of taking this to crops and having it filled with my Copics, Nesties, i-rock tool & gems, Glimmer Mist, a stack of stamped images to color, fingertip daubers, ink pads, etc. Pretty much all of the tools I'll need with the exception of my ATG, paper and paper trimmer could fit in this thing. Sweet, huh?
I store my Copic's in a craft tote for both at home and on the go. I bought the tote at my LSS and added a 5x5 box with an X divider to the open center. The color is not an exact match, but it was certainly close enough for me. I got the 5x5 box from Target when they put out their Back to School stock. I also got three magazine storage cases that match. You can't see see those real well in my blog post, but if you click the image it should open to a larger view. Anyway, here is a close up of my Copic storage (at least until I outgrow it - lol).
Thanks for the photo visual! Neat storage tote! I had mine in one similar that I had purchased at Michaels a year or two ago. It just wasn't a good way for me to transport them. I have had the tote fall over and the markers fall out all over my car before. It's SO not funny when that happens! ha!

Good luck with your tote!
No problem yet, but of course when I have taken to the LSS it only had to travel 6 mi. there & 6 back, plus it was in the floorboard surrounded by my handbag and a 16X16 flat tote that contained cardstock, paper trimmer etc.
And if I ever grow my collection to it's full potential I may have to look into the Art Bin storage, but for now, and while my collection continues to grow & mature, this is a perfect solution for me. :-D
I hear ya! I have about 200 +/- markers right now...and my handled tote worked for me for a long time too! Mine usually fell over when my husband or 11 year old son "helped" me unload the car. LOL
I really want this art bin storage! I went to my local Michaels and they didn't have it. I was so disappointed. I carry my copics all over and would love to have a seperated closed bin to keep my markers in. Do all Michaels have them? I live in San Diego, CA
Michelle, did you ask an employee if they had them? I looked in the scrapbooking storage and also in the art dept and didn't find them in either place. I finally asked and we found them........(ready for this?).............on the back wall by the wedding, silk flowers and ribbon, which is on the opposite side of the store from scrapbooking and art supplies!
I am going to another Michaels today after work and will look all over. I did ask the cashier when I was checking out and she didn't know what I was talking about. I wish I had printed a picture or the bin so I could ask a manager. Wish me luck today. I like this bin because I go to lots of sports games like football and sit at games for about 6 or 7 hours (like tonight) and like to have something to do while I am waiting for the games to start.
I have seen the ArtBin at our Jo-Ann stores. I used a 50% off coupon from one of the other stores and got one of the other style ArtBin containers. They are great!

My Michaels didn't have them at first but I went in just this past week and they had gotten a lot more ArtBin stuff in and they had a few so I snatched one up with my Columbus Day 50% coupon! Woohoo! Check back ladies (and gents) if you really want one. Michaels seems to be changing their stock lately and like I said, my store now carries them when they didn't have them before.
Today at Target I saw metal buckets very much like this one from Amuse for $9.99... but they were in the Halloween section. They were orange with jack-o-lantern faces painted on them.
They were cute, and I didn't think it would be too difficult to alter one.
But they looked smaller than the basket I've been using to store my Copics, so I didn't get one.
Last weekend I went to a swarm and wanted to take my copics along with me - I love my desktop storage (just acrylic boxes from Michaels) - but needed something sturdy & safe for toting my most prized crafting accessory around . I found this today at Michaels for $17 (after 40% off). I love it - it has room for my copics I have plus the ones that I want .

Holy Crud!!! You have some Copic collection! I thought I was getting a little carried away since I now have about 60 of them. That is, until I saw YOUR stash! Wow! I know 'coveting' is a sin but so, I'm a sinner! I am coveting your Copic collection! :-) I love the storage system you have and when I first saw it I thought I'd stop into Michael's on the way home tomorrow to get one. But when I counted up your markers vs. mine, I decided I could fit my whole stamping room into that storage box. I guess for now my little stack of 3 drawers is sufficient. But, if I ever have that much money to spend on markers....baby, I'm getting one! Thanks for sharing. (Off to buy a lottery ticket! JK)
I just received an email from CD advertising their Sketch Copic marker bins for $39.95 each. Each one will hold 112 markers. I got 3 of them from Santa last year and love them. Also, they are offering free shipping. Check them out.

Who is CD? Is there a web address?
I just got my Art Bin Super Satchel Double Deep and I am thrilled with it, especially as I got it half price from Joann with a free shipping coupon!
It stands for Carpe Diem (an online art supply store). HERE is a link to the Sketch marker cases page that mlcarlsen was referencing. I love these cases, however, since I have a mixed (Original and Sketch) Copic collection, this doesn't work for me. I wish I had started with only Sketch. I'd snag these up in a second. That's a great price!
I keep my Copics in an Art Bin, approx. 9x12x3.5. Love it. It has a handle which makes it easy to pick up. I do not take my Copics out of the house. I have other great sets I take to stamp groups. I love my Copics and use them regularly. They sit on their sides on the table, and upright when stored.

I use the Artbin Satchel that is 16 x 8 x 8 .. it holds 120 sketch markers and has a handle that holds and holds the markers horizontally.
that I was using a craft tote, but I quickly outgrew that and did look into the ArtBin option. And, while I have grown my collection of Copic considerably, I have not outgrown the ArtBin storage yet. And I rarely carry my Copic out since my LSS closed their doors, so the ArtBin solution works well for me. Here is a shot of it from back in Aug. 2012: Photo by redonnaleckie • Instagram

The reason I ask is because I thought I read somewhere that your supposed to store copic markers on their sides.
Storage Tray
This tray holds 60 markers. It can be used in the Marker Storage Satchel to expand its capacity, or as an accessory for the Super Satchel Semi-Satchel, and Super Satchel Double Deep.

If this had been available when I had to expand my Copic storage I probably would have bought them, but since I changed mine way back in the summer of 2011 I will keep what I have - my homemade trays from lighting grids: Perpetual Playtime: New Copic Marker Storage
But this is awesome to know for others who have not made their own yet, OR do not think they are handy enough to make their own! Thanks!

I can't "open" the thumbnail sized pictures on my work computer (who knows maybe they don't open or enlarge for anyone...lol) but i finally figured out the item pictured was the art bin double deep something or other. I went looking and found it and it was HUGE. Way too big for me but i found a double deep half the size at Joann's which is perfect. I have about 120 copics and have room to add more and still store other essentials on the go. Thanks!!! Amy
