I can finally start (tomorrow) we've had the electricians in and now my craft area is hardwired. Yippee!

As far as Christmas decos go - we are itemizing this year (combined houses) and I am trying to give what we love a home to display next year and if not it goes! We have already had a mini-purge of Christmas items but with painting and electricians it was hard to tell what we would be using next year.

I just went through my cookbooks today. I now have 1 empty cabinet and another half full. There is just something about the beginning of the year that puts me in the mood to organize. I am off in just a few minutes to finish up my craft room. Just gotta uncover the work table and I should be good to go!

Ok, now that we have all been organizing and purging, what are we doing with those old bank statements, dept store statments, and all that other stuff we just keep? I have been shredding mine and have several paper bags full. We are having a recycle days this Sat for wrapping paper, live Christmas trees, bottles, cans, etc. The money made from recycling goes to our Nature Center. What do you do with your shredded paper. Think I should start a thread on this??

I either put shredded papers in the wood burner or in the compost. Wood burner ashes end up in the compost too.
