Awe Kari you made me cry too!! I so hope that you win! That chemo angel is awesome. I bookedmarked the site and hope to send cards too...that is if I ever find my stamp supplies:rolleyes: I hope that you are getting settled in your new home and that you do meet some more awesome stamping friends local to you!! BUT I don't know if you will ever meet people as awesome as "our" Central NY girls!! I know I am/do miss them very much!

Kari, my vote would be (have been?) for you to win the prize, too!! I had my eye on one of those last year when I started all this! So sorry about the personal isues.:( I went to your gallery and you really do beautiful work, my gosh!!:o Nothing posted for a year, though? I'm a newbie, having met a bunch of ladies on the sports forum only a year and a half ago. I was looking for some help with a punch for my dad's scrapbook. In July, 8 (eight) of us few into Charlotte, NC, for 4 days and had a shoebox swap, among other adventures. Hard to believe we became such good friends so quickly, so I understand your missing your friends from CNY. I met Jen from Summitville, NY, in June, and then flew down with her from Newark to meet the gang. She just received her Masters this summer from SUNY Well I hope to talk with you again and so happy to have found you!

Since then my husband and I have separated, and are preparing for a divorce. I've started life over in a new city, with a new job and am going back to school for a Masters. This means not a whole lot of time or expendable cash... and a really small apartment. When I moved into this apartment (Aug 30), my focus was completely on getting things settled so I would have a place to complete my grad school work. Unfortunately that means all my stamping stuff is back in the storage room under the eaves. I haven't had time to unpack a single box of craft things (and there are many boxes!).
My plan right now is to use a small bookcase, folding card table, coat closet and small organizer from Christmas Tree Shop for all my stamping supplies in the living room. Things that can survive the cold winter will have to stay in the (uninsulated, unfinished) storage room.
So I could really use the ScrapBox to help me get my stamping things settled and organized in my new life. It would even look decent in my small living room, like a real piece of furniture! Please consider me for this fantastic prize, it would be such a wonderful gift.
Kari - you made me cry!! You really are a good person and I'm proud to call you friend... faux or real!!
Deserving is an understatement in my book!
OMG You too??? I just got on for the first time today and had to check out Kari's thread. Even if I didn't know her, I would like her for all those great answers.
karen hi from cny.
yep kari has had little time for crafting. and even less w/ uploading. this summer she worked at a girl scout camp. near lake george.
hopfully later- after we assemble the scrapbox! and grad classes settle down. we will see more in her gallery.
Kari - best wishes to you!!! I hope you win!!! I didn't enter after all, because there are so many more deserving people than me. You, being one of them. I hope that you are a finalist, because I know that the CNY'ers will come out in full force to support you!!!!! GOOD LUCK!
I have read through other entries and listened to some videos and I honestly can say Kari has some of the most compelling reasons to be chosen.
1. She's living in a small apt where this would afford her a real stamping area. She doesn't have a whole room like many.
2. She uses her talents to share with others ie. our servicemen and women AND Chemo patients thru chemoangels.
3. She is on a limited budget since she is a student again. She's in a rental so she can't renovate a stamping area. The Original Scrapbox addresses both of those issues.
4. She is a sweet, giving person who works with special needs kids.
5. She's a great friend to many people in the SCS family.
6. She's just been thru a very tough year and a fresh start in a new city with new friends sure would be even better with a wonderful opportunity like winning this contest.

:p FANTASTIC summary!! I ditto it!!! WIN, KARI, WIN!!!
I don't know you at all; but, it appears from all of the threads that I have read that you are a very caring and compassionate person. I have also worked with special needs children and adopted a special needs child; and stamping for me has been a good stress reliever.
It sounds like you have been through a tough year; may you find the peace of God's love and I wish you the best in winning the Scrapbox.
Before I decided to turn the guestroom into Craftyland, I thought the Scrapbox looked like an excellent idea for the living room. Now I'd need at least four! LOL! All those shelves and a nice table will be excellent for making your special cards, Kari! To have everything stored away and to close it will be so nice...no visual clutter when you're studying!
Good morning ladies, thanks again for all of your support!!
What time tomorrow will we find out who is a finalist I wonder?!?! The suspense!!!! Any way you dice it I need to get my stamping stuff out and organized somehow in the next few weeks.... need to create!
And I promise, I'll start uploading again to my gallery.
hey guys a couple of you spelled ScrapBox with out the R. If you're gonna copy.... pick the better speller! Didn't you learn that in school? I'm sure everyone will follow the link anyway.
