Really I did. A year ago, I lived in a lovely house in the country, complete with my own stamping room. I had lots of shelves, some drawers and a nice table to work on projects. Granted, it was still a mess and it did need some more work... but I was happy creating projects there.
Since then my husband and I have separated, and are preparing for a divorce. I've started life over in a new city, with a new job and am going back to school for a Masters. This means not a whole lot of time or expendable cash... and a really small apartment. When I moved into this apartment (Aug 30), my focus was completely on getting things settled so I would have a place to complete my grad school work. Unfortunately that means all my stamping stuff is back in the storage room under the eaves. I haven't had time to unpack a single box of craft things (and there are many boxes!).
My plan right now is to use a small bookcase, folding card table, coat closet and small organizer from Christmas Tree Shop for all my stamping supplies in the living room. Things that can survive the cold winter will have to stay in the (uninsulated, unfinished) storage room.
So I could really use the ScrapBox to help me get my stamping things settled and organized in my new life. It would even look decent in my small living room, like a real piece of furniture! Please consider me for this fantastic prize, it would be such a wonderful gift.
kari what a great "gift"{ this would make for you!. you sooooooooooo deserve it. so much so i'm not submitting my name! after you win we all will help you unpack those sad boxes. and put all those supplies right where they belong!
I will attest to the truth of all the above statements, but here's what Kari (that's Car eee) wouldn't say. She is a sweet person who choses to help special needs kids. She never earned big bucks doing it, but she loves her kids. She found a new school that is a great fit and on top of that is trying to finish her degree. She's hard working and spent the summer working at Girl Scout camp-another passion, but still not big bucks. We all know how tight things were when we were students, so Kari is definately a needy contender. Add to that the move and split of assets and she really could use the help and a place to stamp.
My other reason is purely personal, I sent her a happy divorce card and she said she wanted to make me a thank you card, but can't get to her stuff!
Like Gayla, I thought of entering, but I really want this wonderful prize to go to someone deserving who needs it more. I do have a stamp room, it just needs cleaning and organizing.
Kari, you know I am behind you 100%. You need to get your supplies out of the dark corners of the attic and into a bright spot where you can work and enjoy them. Stamping on a card table is for the birds so I hope you win!!!
So I have known Kari for about 20 years or more. She is an awesome person who really does deserve this.
She does awesome work creating cards and other fun "stuff". It is a shame that she isn't able to create anymore. This organizer would help her so much and is definitely not something she would be able to afford on her own.
I also would love this but am not entering so that Kari's chances are increased...

I would love if you all came for a road trip to help me assemble it!!! Of course, more than 3 people and we'd be sleeping shoulder to shoulder on the floor in here.... but I'm sure we can work it all out.
Diane did send the funniest divorce card, and Linda sent a cute friend-ship card too... so I need to make some return cards!

i made you a card. does that count? but my vellum tape shows-so it needs fixing!
could be doing that right now
but you are here!:p
Of course I'm worth the trip! And i have Ikea and Trader Joe's not too far away.... If I don't win I'll need even more help to attempt to get the stamp stuff organized here....

If we get your stuff out of the attic someone could sleep in there! I hear Gayla likes it cool
You get my vote (we do get to vote, right?) because you are one of the sweetest, giving people I know. Plus, you make awesome cards and need the stress relief.
I was going to enter too! But I have seen some of the letters from folks who need it more then me, so I also will not put my name in; instead I will wish really really hard on a star and hope the neediest and most appreciative person will win! I am sure there are many of you!
And maybe I do hear "ROAD TRIP!!". Wouldn't that be fun! we could help set it up, rent a conference room in apt building for a week, sleep and craft there. sounds like a nice break and vacation..
sometimes we all need a little TLC.
good luck ladies!!!

Okay...if Kari wins this very cool organizational thingy that I want...then I will go to her new place and help her put it together!! BTW...I live in NC and she lives in MA!
That's how much she deserves to win this...

See if Kari wins, with all of us helping (and drooling over it) we would probably have to get a hotel room...since we wouldn't fit. So not only would Kari win but we would be helping the economy of Hudson MA too! Yet, another reason for Kari to win!!

That looks like a nice little space you have the folding table in. You do have a folding table to use. Where would you fit that big scrapbox anyway, it won't fit where you have that table. you can put long shelves there maybe to put all your stuff on and the table somewhere else maybe.
I don't have a room either, I don't even have a table or extra space in the living and dining room. It is just too small. I have a large empty space in my bedroom I could put the Scrapbox in. I can't afford any shelving now or new tables and right now all I have is the 5'x7' closet I sit and stamp in.

I wanna come and help Kari organize her stamping space!!! She is VERY deserving of some good karma these days. And I don't think anyone would be as thankful as she would be. And she shares well too!!
So ... when are we planning the road trip??
