How do you store your cards? By theme in a box or just in a basket all mixed together? I have a combo of both - nothing sorted and when I want one, I have to hunt for one. I want to set up categories and sort them. SO far I have come up with:
Feminine birthday
Masculine birthday
Get well
Sympathy
Blank inside
Anniversary
Kids birthday
New Baby
Easter
Christmas
I used to just separate by feminine/masculine but last year I reorganized them. Now I have 2 boxes...one is all birthday, the other is mixed events with blanks in the back. In both boxes the feminine ones are in front, followed by masculine, then teen/kid. It makes looking for a card much easier for me.
That said, For the past few months I always seem to have a huge pile of finished cards spread out on my work space! Every time I sit down to craft, I look at them and tell myself to put them away. But do I! Nope. :^}

I keep mine in a photo box. I have birthday, thank you, thinking of you/hello, Xmas, halloween, I'm so sorry and congratulations. These are mostly cards I recieved through swaps. I usually make my card the day of.
Thanks for the ideas. As I started sorting I found other cards such as Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. I am going to continue sorting by theme and then will make dividers for each section.
I did have them organized by subject matter, then my stash grew larger and all the extras I had just ended up in a basket. Now I need to reorganize back to the old way. I got rid of some cards last year when I started in February mailing 5 cards a week to my friends and family with a special note in them. I spent months doing that and really enjoyed it. Cards NEED TO BE USED! So I decided to bless my family and friends with happy thoughts and beautiful cards not only at Christmas. Anyway, the stash is back down to managable size, so now I can put them in order.

I agree totally with you...My uncle has had Cancer for 5 years+. Earlier this year, he became very ill and it didn't look like he would make it. I wondered if he realized how much I loved him and thought of him even if I didn't seee him - so I decided to send him a card each month. He is doing much better- miraculous really- and I continue to send the cards. Then I started thinking if my other family and friends knew how much they mean to me...in the new year I am going to start sending them cards too...this idea of 5 per month is great...of course, my Uncle will receive his monthly card for a very long time I hope

What an awesome idea. I need to get on this bandwagon for sure!! This would make a great challenge for the New Year.
