Hey WORKBOX fans, how are you?
I am happy today. Helped throw a baby shower today for a sweet baby girl. The invitations I made are in my gallery. I also stamped some of those scallop punch peppermint patties; they were a hit. My children helped me fill glass baby bottles with Rockets candies (because they were pale baby colours) and put pale yellow ribbon bows on them for centerpieces. I love baby showers! Celebrating a new little life and the happiness that brings to the family. It's a person's first party held in celebration of them just being, how cool is that!
So what are the things YOU love to help celebrate with stampin goodness???
Thank you! Heidi, I put this post on your thread! Planting it here too incase you see it here first and to share the "chocolate"!:
"I think I'll have just one more of those candy bars. The same kind as before please."
"Why not?" the fat shopkeeper said, reaching behind him again and taking another Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight from the shelf. He laid it on the counter.
Charlie picked it up and tore off the wrapper...and suddenly...
from underneath the wrapper...
there came a brilliant flash of gold.
(great moment from charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Roald Dahl) I feel just like Charlie Bucket today. Hoping for that golden ticket against all odds! Don't you just feel it!?

curious minds want to know...what was your attempt...
and anxiously waiting to see what you contrive next...
Hi Heidi,
my husband thought of this idea to collect leaves and make a giant workbox collage on the lawn then he would climb up on the roof and take a picture of it. Well, it's been too windy here and we can't get the little leaves to stay put. The grass isn't strong enough to hold them in when the wind gusts, KWIM.... so I was back to the drawing board. ;)
I have some M&Ms in my purse leftover from going to a soccer game yesterday...I am going to celebrate the ending of round one and go indulge myself with some yummy dark chocolate M&Ms...
ooooh! Good plan! I think I will take a bit of my secret stash out now. It usually does not see day light as I am stampin' the midnight hour down in the scrap & fluff! Is the suspence not terrific!

Share with us:
(1) why you craft
(2) what you do with your completed handcrafted projects, and
(3) what the biggest impact any of your projects has had on you, someone else, or the world at large!
(1) why you craft- I craft because it is my my pleasure to, my creative outlet, my way to express I care about others and think of them, to encourage someone, to create gifts of the heart, a blessing unfolded with my hands, it's what I can do and love to do.
(2) what you do with your completed handcrafted projects - Most are given away as gifts, sometimes used as prizes for fundraising auctions (currently sending items to an event called "Create For A Cause" that is raising $ for the Christmas Bank in a town we used to live in), sometimes they have been made to work out something on paper (i.e. faithbooking, working through loss, or doing a lay-out to put something in perpective) or to celebrate our life as a family, so I keep them
(3) what the biggest impact any of your projects has had on you, someone else, or the world at large! A friend and I used to scrapbook together because we loved it. Then we started looking at some of the faithbooking books that were coming out. We ordered and tried one but it wasn't going beneath the surface. So she and I wrote our own faithbooking lessons on the Fruits of the Spirit and shared them with the group we had gotten going at our church. That experience challenged and stretched me; gave me encouragement, direction, and even healing. I saw the effect it had in some of the other women in our group and was moved by it. We started holding big crops with challenges and prizes and the feedback was incredable. We had taken something we were passionate about and used it to connect lessons to the soul. I still hope to build on that writing experience because I think that creating papercrafts is an amazing way to grow artistically, spiritually, emotionally, to build self esteem, to heal, to celebrate, to relate, to communicate what words sometimes can not, to extend pieces of your self out there.
It's because of papercrafts... I have had the honor of making wedding invitations by the 100's for people I love, to make baby shower, bridal shower, and party invitations to celebrate milestones, to make funeral and memorial programs to say good bye to ones I miss, to make fantastic baby books for my children, to celebrate the love of my life in my wedding album, to send years of christmas wishes and connect to those I carry in my heart, to help friends with thier business ventures, to try my own hand at home business, to be able to form friendships because of a common interest when I would have been to shy to say anything else,..... I can be me.

I think they are adorable also. My brother lives over in Belgium and travels all over through Germany, and the last time he was home he asked me if I wanted one. They are looking at moving home in 2 to 3 years and we are trying to figure out how we can go visit them before they get home. Then I can pick out my own clock....lol. Most of my clocks are modern and I love the ticking noise of them. I shut off the stereo and the tv and just sit here and listen to them all tick....lol. Very relaxing for me. It used to drive me half crazy, but now I enjoy it and I know when the battery in one has stopped.
Tania, thanks for answering my questions. I loved the insight it gave me into your world of crafting and how you've used it to touch the lives of others! What an amazing response to your faithbooking "crops"! Would you mind putting a few photos of your Faithbook in your Gallery?
And by the way, even crushed into a laundry room, your crafting space is super cute!!!
thank you Thumbunny, It is a good little nook in my life!
I put 4 Lay-Outs in my gallery for you. I can try and load more later if you wish. It was timing out on me trying to upload sample #5 so I thought I should give it a rest. Pulling out my faithbooks made me smile. Looking at some of the LO's and remembering conversations was fun. I also can see that the pages were so different in each topic and the lessons observed each week were that way too. We always stressed that it wasn't about the 'stuff' you used or how it looked but what it represented to you. We had a huge box of goodies that anyone was welcome to use so that no one went with out supplies. We always wanted to eliminate reasons that would stumble participation. We also encouraged hidden journalling or symbolic photographs if you felt you wanted to keep something personal.
K, just read through your whole thread Tania!! You are truly amazing. I love how when you work towards something it's not half-hearted, but you are IN, with both feet, knee deep -- love it. Love all the effort: the t-shirt, the waffle (LOL), the lego, the leaf attempt!! Spectacular effort! And everyone out there reading, I've had the privilege of stamping with Tania, of getting to know her, and she is one of the most positive, kind-hearted people I know. I know you can feel that simply through her posts. She makes you smile & uses her craft in a such a way that everyone is blessed.
Inky hugs to you Tania - I can't wait to see a photo of your kitchen area with that fantastic WORKBOX perfectly slid into its awaiting space!! Oh, and maybe short video clip of you doing the happy-dance ;-)
Jennifer! Thank you,! It was so nice of you to read the whole thread and I appreciate your kind words. (((hug))).This contest has been so fun and one couldn't help but get excited about it. I had a giggle thinking about how you were the one who introduced me to SU!. Before that I had a pile of Lucy Riggs and Suzy's Zoo stamps! (Anybody remember those or am i dating myself?!) Boy did my journey stamping and scrapping elevate from there! Thanks again Jennifer,

Well. What an awesome day this has turned out to be! Just got finished my congratulations to the other finalists and it was sort of like, well, I just wanted to hug everyone it is so exciting!!! Not only in this contest but around this site is inspirations and friendships. How cool is that really. And all because we love to create!
LOVE!!! The Faithbooks you posted. You are still making an impact on people with your entry and the wonderful posts you have put on the other threads. You are by far the most cordial of all of the contestants I have ever seen!! That is in any and all competitions. I still have to read some more stories before deciding who will get my vote, but thanks for leaving me with a warm heart as I go to make dinner now.
And thank you Mel! Thanks for reading all our stories. I know it's a lot of life stories to take in but isn't is fascinating to see a piece of someone?! Just so glad you are taking the time to Vote!
Jump on in ladies (&gents), the voting water is fine! Come play! Help make a dream come true!
Cedargirl,
Lo-oove the tee-shirt and the creativity! Best of luck to you, too (I appreciated reading your good wishes when I discovered I'd made it to the finals).
I'm just so excited to get to continue participating! I can't wait to see the pictures of whatever happy home the Workbox gets to settle in.
Best wishes,
SammyKu

Good luck to you -- I ♥ your shirt, the waffles and the lego scrapbox! I consider my self VERY lucky to be amongst this creative crafty group of gals!!
I have to tell you I have one of those Original Scrapboxes and it's a wonderful thing! I wish I had two of them! It still doesn't fit everything I own. I still have half of my sons 10x20 room, part of my downstairs, & half my loft. I know it's sad. I love what I do! I wish you all the luck to win! Kristi in Vegas
There are so many deserving stories, but I really appreciate that you didn't stomp on others in order to try and get your own votes, so that gives you a lot of points in my book! (not to mention that you homeschool, brownie points for that, too!)
