I thought about having it legally changed on my birth certificate....besides...Stampee is easier to say than DeMaris. Kinda like on Frazier....Maris....be D - Maris but all one word and both caps. I was in my 30's before people started calling me by my name. I answered to Mary most of my life and I still do for the most part, mainly from family and friends. Mary Poppins was a whole different story and we would have to start a new thread for that one.
Wish you the best of luck...hope your still having fun with this all.
where's the CHOCOLATE thread....I'm in need of chocolate...the tension of waiting for the judges announcement is driving me to crave chocolate....
LOL! Odd little tidbit about me is I don't even LIKE chocolate! I'm off to check the main thread about when they will pick the top ten and announce that..
How I make a card... Set up folding table Look under bed for paper/cardstock
Find paper cutter...this can be anywhere...daughters like to borrow...
Get box of essentials out of closet (tools, adhesive, embellishments) Get ink pads from old CD rack
Find stamp set...bottom of tote box (you know the one you want is always at the bottom)
Now that I've wasted all that time and energy...
Create beautiful card...(cards if I have time)
Then go through the dreaded process of redistributing all supplies to various hiding places...
Whew...sure would be FANTASTIC if all my supplies were in ONE PLACE...
I don't need the scrapbox to organize any mess...I would really love to win it so my crafting time can be spent CRAFTING...
Here you go sweetness, I brought you some chocolate from my thread!:
"I think I'll have just one more of those candy bars. The same kind as before please."
"Why not?" the fat shopkeeper said, reaching behind him again and taking another Whipple-Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight from the shelf. He laid it on the counter.
Charlie picked it up and tore off the wrapper...and suddenly...
from underneath the wrapper...
there came a brilliant flash of gold.
(great moment from charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Roald Dahl) I feel just like Charlie Bucket today. Hoping for that golden ticket against all odds! Don't you just feel it!?

Good night all...good night wonderful judges...hope you have a wonderful time tomorrow...best wishes to all the wonderful SCS members in this contest...
I read over the rules thread...is it at 12:00 noon tomorrow or 12:00 midnight tomorrow...just curious...want to be around as it happens...oh the excitement...
Just checkin' in to see how you are doing. Looks like you are holding up well! I think we need to start another game hey? Like, If you could only grab 10 things from your craft stuff what would they be? Or what unconventional things has scrap stuff helped you with? (like, I recently used tacky tape on myself to keep a new blouse in place as I was going to a memorial service and didn't want to worry about, well, ..... cleavage showing. :oops
I don't know which 10 items I would grab, but I do know that my double-sided foam tape that I used to use for shaker boxes came in really handy the night of my oldest son's high school graduation. He had decided to shave his head the night before, and we had no way to keep his graduation cap on. Out came the double sided foam take, stuck it to his head, stuck the cap to the other side and wa-la...his cap stayed on the whole night!
That alternative use of my scrapping/stamping supplies will stay with me the rest of my life. I can't look at his graduation pics without thinking of the double sided tape!

Is it possible you've gotten this far into your thread and the contest timeline and NOT submitted any photos of your workspace? Or did I miss you pointing us to a hyperlink somewhere along the way?
No you did not miss any photos...as I stated I do not have an actual workspace...that is why I would love to win the Scrapbox...my supplies are stashed in various boxes and drawers...in closet, under bed, in a file cabinet...where ever I can find a place to keep them...thus the need for a scavenger hunt to gather them all so I can do my crafting....so I would have to photograph every nook and cranny in the house....but with the Scrapbox all my supplies could happily be stored together...and all my crafting time could be spent actually CRAFTINg...instead of hunting and gathering...

I can feel your frustration, Heidi-I sure don't need any pictures, as I have the same dilemma. Stuff in the bottom of the closet, the inks in this room, the cardstock in another. Now wait, is my pp under the bed or in the box 4th down in the closet. And what about that stamp of the xyz it's not in the drawer and I need it for this card Oh, wait it's in one of the shoe boxes that I threw stuff in to clear off my little craft table. I get it, girl!!! You need the Scrapbox!!

I attempted to make a map of my house with all my favorite stashing places marked...well...I just couldn't get it quite right...so you are just going to have to use your imagination...

(3) what the biggest impact any of your projects has had on you, someone else, or the world at large!
good morning...didn't realize thumbunny was still asking questions...I know the contest has past its deadline...but I shall answer the questions now...
(1) why you craft...I have always enjoyed art and making things...practically my whole life...stamping and card making is my most recent (and longest lasting) craft obsession...it is just fun...a creative outlet...and something I enjoy doing with my daughters... (2) what you do with your completed handcrafted projects...well, I mail out a lot of cards...make gifts for family and friends...and participate in SCS card swaps... (3) what the biggest impact any of your projects has had on you, someone else, or the world at large...everyone onjoys getting a handmade gift...makes them feel special...I have also sent cards to some of the programs sponsored on this website that send cards to certain organizations such as for soldiers or those in hospitals, etc...so I know that a simple card in the right hands can have an impact, even if I never hear of it personally...so it may not be a world wide impact...but more of a one to one impact...as for the impact on myself...well it just feels good to do nice things for others...and sometimes I amaze myself when my project turns out bettter than I had imagined it would...

good luck to you Heidi you have a wonderfully infectious personality and have been fun to "chat" with throughout the contest. Even if you don't win (which you will of course, I mean why not!), I hope that you eventually end up with a crafty space instead of a treasure hunt!

I'll wish you well ;) But I'm so impatient, this is driving me crazy! My husband keeps telling me that I'm going to be so disappointed tomorrow, but I'm still so hopeful!!!
