I reallly like all the ideas shown here. My problem is that I want to keep my copics packaged in the natural color blending groups that I purchased them (from Flourishes) - that way I can just grab a pack and get all the colors I need to do blending.
Right now they are in a rubbermaid plastic box - which at least contains them in one spot, but I still have to go through the box to find the grouping that I want. I need another way to store them so that I can see the groupings all at once. Any ideas?
I just my copics from Flourishes too and am wondering about storing them. I want to store them like you mentioned, in the same group that they put together. I have no idea what to get!!!!!!!!!!!

why don't you buy the clear cases made by and for Copic markers. I don't know what these groupings are that you speak of, but the cases from copic hold the pens standing up and keep them in order. they're great if you're just starting out. They come in 12, 36 and 72.. i would need more than 3 to hold my markers and didn't have the room, but if you only have a few and want them IN ORDER, it's the way to go!

I purchase just about all of my copics frome icopic.com....they sell those storage containers. I'm not sure if they ship to Canada, but I would check them out. I bought one that held 72 but ended up not using it and got the clear cubes with the x insert at OfficeMax. I bought 3 and stacked them horizontally. I love it.
Yep!!! TWO things now in my disaster of a craft room that are actually organized!!!! LOL My inkpads and now my Copics..........of course the rest of my room is a major MESS!! LOL
Thanks for this post.....I just ordered two of these from Overstock.com!!!
I use copic marker racks to store my copics. It's not the cheapest way to go, but it allows me to store my markers in numerical order as well as by color group. I have two of the 80 marker sketch racks. Each rack measures approx. 5" deep by 12.5" wide and they cost about $29 and some change. For $10 more you can get a rack that holds 112 markers. I got these from carpediemstore.com (also my source for markers:mrgreen. They carry racks for each style of marker as well as different types of racks/boxes for storage.
....so I only have 5 copics at the moment.... B-U-T....I have a wee feeling that the supply will grow (already have 20 more coming from the US this week--Yahooeee). I am a totally **** neat freak organized person and I love the magpie storage cubby. I wonder if they are available in Canada? Quick note on finding reasonably priced copics in Canada....there aren't any! I got mine from Creative Play Stamps as well as eBay for 1/2 the price (even after shipping and exchange). Cheapest I could find in Canada is $8.49 each (plus 12% tax) - OUCH!
Yikes! Didn't realize at the time that the **** word above is considered unacceptable but now I can understand why it could be. So sorry! It really isn't a swear - honest!
This looks like a great idea!!!!!!! Now to find a place to order them from and ship to Canada!!!!
Thanks!
I buy all mine from Oozak.com The guys are great and the shipping is reasonable. They'll ship to Canada and it's quick too. The only time that I've had to pay was for taxes, but $4.25 per marker plus 13% tax is still less than $8.49 at the local store. I'm lucky to live near the border, so I ship to a place that holds packages and then go pick them up.
This last order was $122 plus 13% for 27 markers. If I bought them locally (and they would have had to have been whatever colours she had in stock) it would have cost $229 plust taxes. Big difference!

And, maybe check out www.currys.com they are in canada and I've ordered from them before too. Service was good. They only sell Ciao's though...but at $3.99 each that's a good deal. And, orders over $40 get free shipping in Canada. Can't beat that!

mE TOO......... I have two and could used another one. Let me know, I can hook you up!!
I already have a GREAT demo and am hosting a party in january But thanks for the offer!
I actually have four of them  2 in my kitchen, 1 for my markers (copic and prismacolor- which is why I need another one), and 1 on my desk at school (great teacher gift fyi). I did buy number 5 last week but it was for a Christmas present for my sister!
Customcrops.com has the black magpies for $12.99 + shipping. Also, I've seen people use the desktop carousels like Making Memories makes to store their Copics.
I just got a great deal at an LSS that is going out of business: a Stickles rack. I turned it around and the Copics fit nicely in the wire slots. I can put 3-4 in each slot, so I'm putting the color blending families together in each slot. I don't have a huge amount of Copics, so this works for me. On the top "shelf" I put my stickles and alcohol inkers.

Custom Crops has these for $8.83 today and the white one's for $12.03. I don't know if it is only for the Pink Tuesday sale though.
My copics have to be mobile because I do most of my coloring in the living room keeping DH company in front of the TV...He watches, I listen and color. I have clear tote with handles and a locking lid, in the tote are six Crystal Light containers(they will hold 13 squeezed, 12 for easy access)...I have markers sorted--blue and violet in one, yellow and red in one green and blue green in one, neutrals and browns in one----except after my trip to HL last night,,,,I am out of room and need both a larger tote and more containers to sort in. right now though, that is my system.

I was teaching classes in Indiana this weekend; and one of my students (Patti-Jo, who had driven 12 hours each way from Ontario!) had the most PERFECT solution for coloring on the go. She had the 24-marker wallets for her entire collection of Copics, and they were placed inside this Creative Memories tote: called the Daisy Tools Caddy. She had two caddies, and this held her entire collection of all the Copic colors, PLUS the top portion of the caddy holds inkpads, stamps, multi-liners, etc.
Needless to say, I got home and found it online.
I love the small overall footprint of the case, and it's functionality. You take out the Velcro-d dividers that make it into four compartments and use just the space inside for your 24-marker wallets. Hers were folded with the marker colors exposed so you could see what was where.
I do have the clear plastic 72-marker clear cases for my markers; and those are lovely for being at home -- but too often, I'm traveling with my markers, whether to friends or to teach. I had stacked them into my rolling tote; but having witnessed what happens to them when I used to ship that way for UPS for my classes - I want something more shatter-resistant! I just demoed in Manhattan a couple weeks ago and between trains, taxis and pedestrian traffic; I'm lucky those plastic cases survived. LOL!
I just bought one of these on Ebay for my Copics. Right now I have them in a great little wire rack that was made to display Stickles, but my studio is in our daylight basement. My family likes for me to be upstairs with them in the evenings. I think this case will be perfect for toting my Copics upstairs or if I go somewhere with them. Thanks for the suggestion!
It just got here today. It's very nice and sturdy. I have about 80 Copics and they fit, standing vertically with room for 10-15 more, in one fourth of the tote.
I keep my Copics in my Stampin' Things Elite Unite. I don't need to take my Copics anywhere so this works GREAT for me. I love it! You can see more info here if you would like.

Thank for the info on this company. They have some really cool things I must get.
You are welcome! Sue has amazing pieces and customer service! She is a gem! I am featuring one of her units on my blog this Friday (I hope). Have a blessed day!

I have looked high and low for the perfect copic storage solution. I own 240 markers and some extras, give or take. I've had them stored all kinds of ways as the collection has grown and never felt pleased. I like the AMuse enamel buckets, but it took two and I wanted them all in one place. I also need to be able to transport them back and forth to teach as well as use them at home. So... I made this tote.
Now, I'm NO seamstress, but I can sew a straight line. I got some quilted fabric, a zipper and straps to make handles, drew out a rough pattern and sewed this last Friday night. The bottom and sides are reinforced with plastic I re-purposed from a Cropper Hopper paper holder. It took three hours. Not too bad, I think. Sewed the zipper backwards, but it works just fine. On the inside, I used some re-purposed Cropper Hopper photo holders, cut the sides off and made stand up marker cases. Everything fits in there perfectly and there is room to grow. There is about three inches left on the top and I have a clear tray that fits in there nicely to store more goodies before closing it all up.
I hope this will inspire you to make your own storage that totally suits you. Often I find myself retro-fitting some other product to suit me. Not this time. I'm thrilled. Happy Coloring.
I was very much inspired by the Creative Memories tote Sally shared. Total supply cost for this project was $15 using a Joann's coupon.

Lisa,
great tote! You did a wonderful job. It looks a lot like the CM one I got. And thank-you for the idea to use the Cropper Hopper photo cases for marker holders. I'm going to use that idea for organizing my tote.
I am not one of the people lucky enough to own any but I have always heard if you do not store them vertically they will dry out. Has this been an issue with one. And it looks like they sell them by family. I cannot afford a bundle of them but if i buy them one by one i don't know how I will match them. Does that make since.
Does anyone have suggestions for someone who cannot afford a bundle of them? I don't want to buy them and have them just sit. They are definately an investment. Or they would be for me
To answer your first question, you can store Copics either horizontally or vertically - they won't dry out and the ink won't "run to one end" of them.
For your second question... you can purchase the markers one at a time at most fine art stores, an Archievers, Hobby Lobby, and many on-line sites.
It can be very intimidating to jump into the world of Copics... which type of marker to buy, which colors, what does that number mean... but it's easy with just a bit of research. I have a "beginner color" suggestion list on my blog along with a lot of other FAQ about Copics. I also know there are many other blogs and websites with similar information (you will find many different ideas about what colors to start with). You can find my information HERE.
Also, if you haven't visited Marianne's blog I Like Markers yet... you will want to do that... she is our Copic Guru and there's no one better with them than she is!
HTH - Hugs!

For someone who says they are not a seamstress, I am seriously impressed by your work. Your Copic holder is amazing - I keep looking at the photo thinking it's just what I need but I could never make that!
I've never heard of Cropper Hopper cases here in the UK, although to be fair it's not something I've ever searched for, but I'm sure we would have something similar.
Could you have found yourself another business idea?
