Default Closetmaid storage cubicals

Hey ladies, I saw these at Target and I am in the need of inexpensive furniture to organize my "shtuff"..hehehe...so I am wondering if anyone is using this currently? The price is awesome only at $50, but want to see if anyone has any experience with it and what that would be...thanks so much

I was just looking at these myself as I want something standing height. I asked my husband if I bought two if he would make me a countertop for it so I can stand and cut stuff and work on stuff. I think they are a good deal but in my Target today they were $60.

I did use them and they worked wonderful except for the items that are 12"x12". I found some very similar at Walmart. The cubes are larger to accomidate the 12"x12" items and you can customize your shelves. I bought dividers to store my 12x12 paper, drawers to store my inks, embossing stuff etc. They are actuallly cheaper than target. They come in black and white. You can also get coaters for them and canvas bins. I will take a pick of them and post it.

The ones I found at Walmart will not hold 12x12 paper but I had my husband drill new holes just for 1 - 3 cubbie section to accomodate the larger paper and it is so subtle next to my other one that was not altered , you'd never know it was done. I love them. I really wanted toe Expedit cubbies from Ikea but would have to drive 9 hours one way just to get them.

I had these before I had all JetMax units. Like the others have said, they work fine except for 12x12 stuff. Because the cubbies are so tall, you need some kind of stacking containers in some cubbies unless you pile everything into a fabric bin or basket. I just used photo boxes or whatever inexpensive containers I could find. They are sturdy. When I got the JetMax units my daughter took them to use in the grandkids rooms to store toys and kid junk.

Eva, I used to use these. You can see them in "action" here on an old post on my blog:

Studio Storage - WhoIsTracy? Blog

stampinmomnh is right in that they will not hold 12x12 straight, but if you angled them slightly they will. You could just use cardboard or something to do that. I only used the shelves for embellishments, cardstock, and everything OTHER than 12x12 and they worked fine.

In the end, I've been much happier with a large bookshelf, but that's my personal preference. But for $50 or less these are a great way to organize your space. If you were close I'd let you have mine because it's sitting in my basement unused!

Tracy, thanks for the link..it looks great!! So are you using a bookshelf now?? I am not planning on storing 12x12 papers on it, just things that would fit in the cubes, so it would work I think for me.

I have one of these in brown. I really like it. I have my old red sizzix ontop of it and scrap paper boxes. I do not use them for anything 12x12 since I have a different cabinet for my papers. I have the fabric bins that I bought at Target when they were 2 for $10. I really need to reorganize them, maybe that will be today's project while dh is watching the football games.

I have three of these and love them, I buy them when they are on sale, they are sturdy and for the price you cannot beat them. I have seen similiar shelves sell for twice as much. I have other storage arrangements for 12 x 12 paper. What I want to do with these is get three more and stack them on the three I have, just not sure how well they would do stacked, anyone done that? I use photo boxes on a lot of the shelves for storage.

They are made to be stacked and have the holes for dowels to use when stacking. I would still want to secure them to the wall just so they don't get bumped off or become unsteady if they are very tall.

Default Storage cube

I have used the 9 cube stacked on top of each other and 8 cube also stacked on top in two closets and recently stacked another two 9 cubes against one wall of my craft room, (I recently redid the storage from just book cases.) I also did a wall of the Michael's jetmax cubes. I love my new storage.

I like the closet maid items, they are easy to assemble and not to heavy to manoever into place.

Mine are all white. You may want to check both Lowe's and Home Depot and Target occassionally puts them on sale. I paid $40 for each one of my units.

Yes I want to get some white ones for my daughter's room to hide all her girly clutter, I think the black ones would work well in the den for books etc. I do find them to be really sturdy but would like at least two more. I fear it is a never ending tail chasing hobby, supplies, storage, supplies, storage..
