Is it a bedroom or a craftroom? I don't think anyone in my family is quiet sure. When we moved to the south, I was fortunate to find a wonderful 3 bedroom condo. 3 bedrooms was a must for a family of 5. Each bedroom was spoken for. This meant I had to be creative in finding a space to stamp, sew and craft.
I tried the tiny dining room. All I had was a card table to work on. It wobbled and was not sturdy enough for stamping. Any project I set up quickly had to leave so that dinner could be served. ( I rather stamp than cook dinner, but that didn't go over well with the family.) I found my projects were becoming neglected because they sat in boxes or totes. Where could I set up shop then?
Our master bedroom is rather large. I looked around and said, "this will have to be craft central until I can afford some kind of organization." ;) So I moved the king size bed along a wall and in came a two desks, the card table, two plastic drawer organizers, totes of paper and fabric, totes with projects, and a small glass front shelf. It was a fraction of what came south with us but it was still overwhelming the room.
In the name of organization I began to consolidate. Here's were it gets sad. In order to make room for new things, old things had to go. I had to part once again with stamps sets, paper, ink and other precious embellishments. If I only had a better place to store all things items maybe they would not have had to leave. :(
Losing precious scrapping items is not the only draw back to having one's craft room in their bedroom. The room quickly becomes non-restful. It's not the spa like room I would like to have. It's like sleeping in one's office. That might be a happy place for some but I would love to have a space for both.
Lastly, having all my craft items out in the open is such a temptation for little fingers. I can't tell you how many time I have had to ask, "where are my punches? Where did all the paper go? Who got the stamps out?"
I can remember and still have the first stamping magazine I bought that had the Scrapbox featured in it. I oooo and awed over all drawers and the built in table. I quickly went on line to see how much. Ouch! The Scrapbox would have to remain a dream......till now.
Can I just tell you how improved not just my life would be but my whole family's life would be if we had the Scrapbox! I would have more space to keep projects and supplies. I would finish projects because I could see them! Little hands would not be able to "borrow" items. Finally, at the end of the day I could close up the doors and drift away in my bedroom oasis.
Tomorrow: pictures of the cramped non-spa space in which I craft.
You have a family????? This scrapbox would BE my family!!!
lol! Trust me, there are days I would gladly trade the "familly" for the Scrapbox! I like your idea! Let's explore it: "How is a Scrapbox better than your family?"
1. The Scrapbox doesn't talk back.
2. The Scrapbox doesn't move items when you put them away.
3. The Scrapbox doesn't get a cold and expect you to be a nurse.
4. You don't have to make dinner for The Scrapbox.
5. The Scrapbox doesn't make laundry for you.
6. The Scrapbox doesn't leave the lid up.
7. The Scrapbox doesn't leave it's toys in the floor for you to find in the dark on your way to the bathroom.
8. The Scrapbox doesn't pick fights with it's brother/sister.
9. The Scrapbox doesn't snore.
10. The Scrapbox loves you unconditionally!
Okay voters, here is the first of the very sad storage devices I am currently having to use. Not a great way to keep my precious paper. Not to mention it is so tempting for my little artist.
Here is your next sneek peek of my sad storage/craft area. I don't even have a room to craft in, I have an "area"!
This tower was my first attempt at having scrapping items near by. Till then I had everything in a tote. Not easy to work out of. This is still one of my favorites.
I am finding myself dreaming of The Scrapbox ever since I found out SCS is giving one away. I dream of what items will go in which drawers. Such sweet dreams.
I had another Top 10 for your enjoyment:
Top 10 Reasons The Scrapbox is better than Chocolate.
1. The Scrapbox doesn't put weight on your mid section.
2. The Scrapbox won't make your face break out.
3. The Scrapbox will satisfy "that time of the month" cravings.
4. The Scrapbox will last longer.
5. The Scrapbox won't melt.
6. You don't have to share The Scrapbox.
7. There is no expiration date on The Scrapbox.
8. I guess you could have a Scrapbox with nuts in it.
9. You can return to The Scrapbox again, and again.
10. If my husband brought home The Scrapbox instead of a box of chocolate........Oh my!
Last night I worked on a set of cards for my church. While sitting at this tiny table, I pretended to work out of The Scrapbox. Oh what a sweet moment that was. How nice it would be to have all my tools and stamps at my reach. I could easily find items that I now I have to dig for.
I wish I had a clever way to express just how much I could use The Scrapbox. Spending $$$ is just not an option for my family on items like these. Yes, they are luxuries in this day and age. To win the The Scrapbox would be such a blessing. It could help turn what are now dreams into reality.

Oh Lucky You..mine is in a cardboard box and getting more wrinkled everytime I use it.
Nope you don't have enough stuff...I have more and I need it more than you.
Touche! I think I spelled that right. I envy your cardboard, you can always use it for projects too! You are right I do need more stuff! I need to be able to stuff The Scrapbox!!
it looks like you have an inclination to be organized already...just not the right storage tools
I think you would put the scrapbox to excellent use!!! Good luck!!!
Thank you! for the kind words. You are so right! I would make SCS and The Scrapbox proud. I do tend to be organized. It's a gift or a curse, depending on the subject. So you can just imagine the wonderful images that have played in the theater of my mind. I find joy in deciding which drawer should hold what. Of course I'll re-arrange it a thousand times too, then stand back to admire the organized bliss.
You can rest assured that a vote for me would be well placed.
Okay folks, this is where my storage story starts to get really sad. You see this picture below? Well, this is all the extra storage I have! Isn't this sad? I just don't know how anyone could continue to let me be storage deprived! I "think" I may have a tote or two tucked away in the kid's closets but that is another quest for another post.
You know what I just realized?!!!.......winning The Scrapbox would be the next best thing to having Ty Pennington knock on my door!
Thank you for your vote and time, Best of Luck, Theresa
Well, I guess everyone is getting a start on world card making day. Me, I am trying to stamp on my seriously small craft table. Did I mention I could use some organization?
Today I thought I would share with everyone the inside of my sad, little storage shelf. It drives me nuts to look in there for anything. I understand that to many this looks in control, but to me it's anything but. I like neat little nooks to store items in. How can we utilize what we have if we don't know where it is.
You are not kidding! It was a really hard decision. I had to part with probably 20 sets of stamps before we moved and at least 20 more once we settled in. I also had to part with some ink pads, paper, and ribbon. My loss was definately someone elses joy.
Thanks for stopping by. I LOVE to answer questions.
OMG!! I cannot believe how nice and stacked and neat your stuff is in your drawers. Mine are sooooooo full they are just cramped. Your's look great...I need those canvas drawers in the Scrapbox more. I have enough to fill every drawer.
See, that's just it! I don't have any room to cram one more thing in. I too would love those canvas cubbies. Is that how you spell it? Then I could fill it up! Just think of all the fun shopping I'll have.
You stamp area is wonderful and organized...I just love it!!!
Thanks, but trust me I an still losing things and not finding what I thought I had. I could blame my 5 year old twins but the truth is when stuff is stacked on top of other thing you can't be creative to your full potential.
I was watching a show today on "hoarding". I am sure you know the one, and I started to wonder about some of us trying to sway votes our way. I wonder how many fall into the hoarding catagorey. The hoarders on the show were so emotionally attached to their "stuff" that they could not part with it, let alone organize it. So we should ask ourself, "would I truely organize myself if I want The Scrapbox?" Food for thought.

I'll take Ty Pennington at my door ANYDAY!! LOVE him:-)
Happy Monday. Trying to find happy has the clouds have settled in and block the sun. You know what would make me happy? Well, winning The Scrapbox of course! That would bring sun into this cloudy day. Such joy would be found in sorting through all my stuff and deciding which drawer to put items in. Sweet!
Okay Judges, I know you are out there lurking. You must have some questions! I could not have possibly answered them in my posts. So lets hear from you. I desperately want to sway you in my favor.

So, you think all that stack of so called organization looks better than what you have? Well let me tell you, I tried to get something out that was shoved in the back only to have the shelf fall on me!!! This thing is a hazard! Imagine had that been one of my kids. If that doesn't qualify me for The Scrapbox then I don't know what does.
For my safety and that of my family PLEASE!!!!! Recommend me as a potential winner of The Scrapbox
Friday has arrived and it is my last chance to promote myself. This has been a tough challenge, to explain to the SCS community why I deserve a chance to win the wonderful Scrapbox. I am not one to shout from the roof tops, "hey LOOK AT ME!" but the truth of the matter is if I ever plan on owning The Scrapbox I will have to shout.
My family is not rich in $ or even material things. We have debts as do most people, but we are also working hard to pay them off. That means there is no room in a budget for a beautiful Scrapbox. That doesn't mean I could not put The Scrapbox to good use. In fact it may be the very tool to help me put a little extra $ in my family's pocket. I am a firm believer that good organization can lead to success in one's life. For me, the ability to find tools and embellishments and more would be of such benefit. Now I can't find things because they are stacked one on top of the other. I would also not have to part with precious stamp sets, paper, or ribbon.
Thank you for letting me share my hopes and dreams of winning The Scrapbox. Theresa

Thank you for inquiring!
1. Why I craft: Simply, I craft because it is in my DNA. I come from a long line of very talented people. They range from quilters, wood workers, and book makers. I believe God designed me this way and for a reason. When I stamp or sew, I find myself in that "zone". That place where I am outside myself and God takes over. Magical things happen. Here's where it gets ironic and rather funny. Up until about 8 years ago I had never touched a rubber stamp. It was my amazing mom that introduced me to rubber stamping. She would talk and talk about cards and stamping. I once told her "I am a scrap-booker and stamping is stupid." Boy did I eat my words! Mom took me to my first stamping event and it was then I said "I can do this and it's fun!". I signed up right then to be a demo. Mom was right again and she is the reason I am a stamper.
2. What do I with my completed handcrafted projects: My projects find amazing homes. Scrapbooks have found homes at baby showers, as father's day gift, and as a tribute to Thomas the Tank Engine. I have made books for journalling and Bible study. Greeting cards go everywhere! I recently finished over 50 greeting cards for my church to use in their ministries. The cards have gone all over the country from Texas to North Carolina.
3. What is the biggest impact any of your projects has had on you, someone else, or the world at large! I always find joy in all the projects I do. I love to see my kids glee in joy when I sew them an outfit, but it's been card making that has touched so many lives. In Ohio I helped start a Creative Card Camp that was an out reach ministry. But it's been since we moved to Georgia that amazing things have happened. I have other creative people commissioning me for custom cards. I make and donate cards to my church, and other non-profits. It was stamping that found me my first group of friends in Georgia. It helped make the move less stress-full. The biggest impact on my life is the one I may not ever see, the smile that a card I made put on a face or in a heart. My prayer is that they bring joy or comfort at the right time in the right place.
Thank you so much for giving us all an opportunity to share our stories. Crafters are unsung heros in my book. They bring joy and light in this world.
