Default Adjustable Height Table

I’m considering getting a new table in my craft room and I was looking for an adjustable height one, any recommendations?

I bought a Husky work bench and am loving it! I chose this over the kind sold as desks because of the two long tool drawers - awesome for keeping things i use often. I can just tuck them away and get them off my work surface. It uses a crank to lift/lower - easy to turn and fine tune exactly where you want it.

I got mine on sale at Home Depot, but here's a link to show you what i'm talking about:

Another vote for the Husky work bench. I'm using mine at work right now (I wanted a standing desk), but it's going into my craft room when I retire in the spring. The bonus about the drawers is that, since they were designed to hold tools, they can carry a lot of weight if needed. Another plus to this workbench is that it has wheels so you can move it easily, and the wheels lock when you've got it in place. I got mine from Home Depot, as well.

I use and Ikea table and considered these for it - https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/boaxel-...4&gad_source=1

I went with non-adjustable ones so I could take them off and store the table when I needed more space in the room. I don't often adjust table height, so this style would have worked had I been able to remove them easily, too. I do, however, break the table down several times a year, so it's been a great removable option.

I replaced my last Lagkapten tabletop because I wanted a bigger one. Otherwise, it held up really well and was cheap. It's easy to stamp on and great for all of my paper work. My only complaint is that it does move a bit. If you're an aggressive stamper (I am), you may want something sturdier.

Oooo great question and do I ever have a recommendation for you!

I started working from home several years ago after becoming accustomed to having a sit-to-stand workstation in the office. For the first nearly two years (yes, you heard that right), I used a conglomeration of cardboard boxes on top of a folding card table to DIY my own sit-stand desk. However, two years in I decided I needed a Christmas gift and after a lot of research, ordered this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W42DSG8..._ap_share&th=1 (I am -not- affiliated; the organization I work for provides nothing other than the computer for teleworkers, and as such all office furniture/equipment is my responsibility) I ordered the white surface in a larger tabletop size, in order to accommodate my crafting outside of office hours, without having to move my computer out of the way.

Several of my colleagues had already bought one for themselves, two right at the start of our telework arrangements, and had nothing but glowing reviews which the Amazon reviews seemed to echo.

I'm approaching two years with it myself, and I can't stop singing it's praises! It's worked perfectly from day one, and aside from an operator error which the company's customer service department quickly and kindly walked me through, it's been a breeze and money well, well spent! I would recommend having the help of another set of hands for assembly, and a power drill is also recommended (vs. hand screwdrivers).

I have plenty of space on the desk surface with my monitor stand sitting on the long edge and the laptop in an upper corner.

As for the white surface, I had some concerns I'd have staining after some time. Well, I've done just about everything to it - including apparently attempting to glue one of this weekend's projects to it - without so much as a trace of ink or other damage. Ink wipes right off (even Stazon ) and that glue this weekend popped off without a problem.

Feel free to send me a PM if you have any specific questions about it! Good luck to you in finding your perfect crafting table!

Default Crafty minds think alike...

Dances with Hooves, I'm smiling as I too did a DIY standing desk when we got sent home. My craft room became craft room & home office and I used a rubbermaid stepstool to hold laptop, with cardboard box next to it for mouse etc. LOL!! But I'm now considering a real height-adjustable table so this thread is good timing!

That husky is looking good. I love the wheels. I am all about wheels now.

There are some adjustable height desks on Amazon for $100 with good reviews. I don’t own one, but I’m tempted. If only I had a place to put it. . . .

I purchases this sit/stand desk for my remote job on Amazon: https://tinyurl.com/Fezibo-55-in-Sit-Stand

Pros- lots of desktop space, legs are wide apart, you can set 3 fixed heights, and there is a tray in the back to hold your cords and such.

Cons- Table top comes in 4 pieces which lends to instability moving from the sit to stand position. **DH installed a one piece counter top from Ikea in place of the 4 pieces making it super stable. The wood counter is what I also installed in my stamp room years ago- love it.

Good luck in your search!
