Ok. So I know I am not the messiest by far when it comes to my scraproom. But I know if I won the Scrapbox I would make it the most organized Scrapbox that I could. I have tried my hardest to stay organized in my walk-in closet sized craft room since we just moved to a new apartment less than 2 months ago, however due to money problems, I can't do much more than what I have. My hubby wanted to build me shelves, but right now we can't really afford to buy the supplies for it.
See, here's my deal:
Ok, I LOVE crafting...scrapbooks, cards, altered items, etc. I am a graphic/page designer for a newspaper by day, a crafter by night, or sometimes the reverse if I have to work night shift (which is often these days). Right now, crafting is my outlet when the world seems to go to shambles. My hubby lost his job in Feb. and has FINALLY gotten a part time job a week ago. Sadly, it doesn't make more that what he was getting on unemployment. My job got a 10% pay cut since this past June, so we were forced to move to a cheaper apartment. We've been barely getting by, and somehow have managed to pay our bills and have just enough to buy food and gas so we can go to work, but not much more than that. I am involved in 2 swaps, which if it wasn't for my mother helping me by paying for items to swap with, I wouldn't be in at all, since she feels that I can't give up everything I love when things are already down in the dumps. She has helped me with that a lot and I thank her for doing that for me, as receiving packages in the mail does make a girl feel loved
. I am only 23 years old (I know, I'm still a young'n), only out of college for 2 1/2 years (I graduated a year early from high school if you were doing the math). I was one of the "lucky" ones who got a job right out of college, but literally 6 months later the economy started turning for the worst. I've seen friends, co-workers, and even my boss get laid off, and sadly the only reason I know I still have a job, is because a) I will do ANY shift and b) I cost the company far less than anyone who has worked there longer than me (I was their very last hire before they implemented a hiring freeze.)
I admit it, there are people who are in far worse shape than I am. It is true, but believe me, I would cherish, love, keep organized, and worship the Scrapbox if I were to receive it. It would be the greatest Christmas (or early Christmas) gift I could ever receive. Right now I can honestly say, I don't think we would be able to afford to give many Christmas presents to even family this year, so to receive something this wonderful would rock my world.
I honestly hate sob stories and hate admitting that there is trouble at home, but I wanted to be honest with you all out there and tell you my story. So I would be overwhelmingly happy to receive such a wonderful piece of crafting storage and would keep it in use for MANY years, since after all, I'm still a young'n in the crafting community. ;)
Below are some shots of my craft room stuffed in a closet-sized room.
