Just wanted to thank Cat for providing this spreadsheet on how to make the sandwiches for the Cuttlebug. I recognize that it took you some time to create this chart and I truly appreciate it. THANK YOU
What sandwich do you use on the bug for the new SU framelits - the hearts and labels? If they are on this wonderful chart then I am missing them. Thank you so much for compiling this list>

I am so new to this board and to the CUDDLEBUG world. I can't find a C plate. My other issue is the the little diecuts are now on my B plate. What in the world am I doing wrong.

Love this place lots of info for someone like me.
Some craft stores carry the C plate, or they are available online. Here's one place: Cuttlebug Thin Die Adapter
I'm sure there are others; you just have to search. In lieu of having one in hand, you can add extra chipboard or card stock to your sandwich to make it thick enough -- experiment.
As far as marking up your B plates, yes that is going to happen. Be sure to
flip them to keep them from warping badly and spread the wear & tear.
As a personal note, always cut into your B plates rather than the A or C, since the B's are much easier and less expensive to replace if they break or wear out.
Not sure if this is where I should be asking this question but here goes....Is there a stack to cut and emboss with spellbinder dies at one time?
Thanks for any help.

You use plates A, B & C to cut. Best to cut into your B plate, since those are easier to replace. You have to emboss in a separate pass through your machine using plate A & 2 B + your rubber mat + shims. Machines differ, but I use 2 cereal box shims.
Because the rubber mat goes against the cutting side of the die, you can't cut and emboss at the same time.
Thanks for the help. I was hoping to be able to save time and a step...guess not.

Thank you for this chart! I AM having a problem though; Can ANYONE HELP ME? I have the SU Large Paper Doily die & using my Cuttlebug. It DOESN'T CUT! Just the outer edge & I get impressions...This is on cardstock--copy paper. I added a shim & it curled the shim, but STILL didn't cut the doily! :/ Am I doing something wrong? I followed the chart! :? Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!

Check with your demo. I ordered that & it was defective. I tried everything and could not cut it with either my cuttlebug or big shot. My demo tried it in her BS & it still didn't cut. I chose to exchange it for something different.
You know what Lacyquilter, this is my SECOND die! :/ I was so hoping.... I was wondering if it was a defective die or if there had been problems!!!
By the way, THANK YOU FOR JOINING MY BLOG!
I am close to tears and really hoping someone can help
I have a CB and I have probably 6 Sizzix Bigz dies...2 of which are boxes. I can cut tags and shapes just fine with the sandwiches listed on the fabulous chart here but when it comes to boxes, nothing seems to work. They score all over the place but don't cut all the way through. I add a piece of paper/cardstock you name it, I either get cut all over (through the score lines and all) or I get just score lines. I have tried the gasket stuff and also a crease mat and just don't have any luck. I am very tempted to just call it a day and get a Big Shot because when I watch videos, every cut is perfect. What exactly is the difference? Is it the pressure? Are the plates a hair thicker/thinner between the 2 machines? What am I doing wrong? I have had my CB for a few years and it has always served me well...but now that I have discovered boxes, I fear I may have to chuck a perfectly good machine. Does anyone have a tried and true method for the pillow box and/or the bitty box in the CB? Thanks in advance...I am just so frustrated.

Have you tried using a crease pad? You use this in place of one of your cutting plates. These are made by Sizzix and they are too wide for the Cuttlebug, but I just cut off the edge using a strong scissors so it fit through. This helped me out when I was using dies with cut and score lines.
Thanks...yeah, I have tried that. :( It must be user error although I can't figure out where I am going wrong. It was funny, when I went to cut my mat, I used a Xacto knife and asked DH "How the heck do you CUT a SELF HEALING mat???" and he took it out to the garage and brought it back to me and said "Crafting is a mans world baby, I will help you any way I can..." hahahah!!

I've had the SAME PROBLEM with the SU Large Doily Die! And I have Sizzix dies too that work PERFECTLY! I feel your frustration! I TOO am thinking of getting the Big Shot! With the die, I layered it up with shims to where it was hard to get through the Cuddle Bug----and it STILL didn't work! There MUST be a difference in the machines!
Tlady, not that I am happy you are having issues ;) But I am glad to know I am not alone!!! Tell you what I did...I went to SU's website and while I have a great demo that I love to death, she is in another state so I can't just jump in the car and go try her Big Shot! So, I called a local demo and left a message. She is in my same tiny town and I am hoping she shows me some compassion and lets me go run my die through her machine so I will know once and for all! If she says yes, I will come back and post the results of my findings! Wish me luck

Well, my demo phone call was a bust. She called back but she had no info, said she signed up under a friend and was not able to meet the quotas once she stopped ordering for herself...did not have a Big Shot...did not understand why her name was even othe website because it has been such a long time :( She gave me the number of her friend that she signed up under thinking she might be able to help...maybe she will call over the weekend.
I had DH look at my bug and my dies to see if he could figure it out and would you like to hear his expert opinion? "Well, it's either the machine or the die but something is not right. Have you tried using a shim?" WOHOO Good thing I have a MAN on the scene helping me through life's little dips and turns! Too funny
Ok, I am off to watch the TH video....Thanks iamvics!!

YOU ARE TOO FUNNY!!!!!!!! I told my husband what your husband said---

THANK YOU iamvacs for the video, but our problem is the dies DON'T CUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( This WAS A SUPER VIDEO though! THANK YOU!
CraftyMel2, I DO plan on getting a BIG SHOT for Christmas! It'll be a wait but, then I'll get to SEE if my die will work with it! Even SU (on the phone at headquarters) told me when I DO get a Big Shot, MAYBE it'll work then! All I can do is HOPE!
Well, I sent the link to that video to DH to show him. While I was at it, I sent a link to the pillow box die that TH was using because it's bigger than the SU die and, I think I may have snuck a link to Amazon that just HAPPENED to be for a Big Shot ;) hey, you never know...if he tells Santa that I want this, maybe the Man in Red will come through for me

For those of you having problems with the SU doily die, it might be that the die is defective. I had to have it and could not get it to cut in my cuttlebug. Called my demo & she made some shim suggestions to try in my big shot (I have one of those also which I never use), but it still wouldn't cut. I took it to her house & she tried it in hers -- same problem. She could not get it to work in her machine. She also has the die & hers works great in her big shot.
I teach a monthly die cutting class & all the ladies have cuttlebugs. I know that they are not all 'equal' in how tight they are, so rather than have a bunch of frustrated ladies, I simply chose to replace the die with something else from SU (which meant I had to pay shipping, but I was OK with that).
It's a beautiful die, but not worth fighting with each time I use it. You may simply want to exchange it for a new one.

does anyone know if the wizard dies (spellbinder) will work int he cuttlebug

Yes they do ! Spellbinders work great in the bug !
The only ones that don't fit are the largest dies in the "grand" sets. All of the regular ones (and embossing folders!) work just fine.
Ok TLady...I finally got to a demo's house to try her Bigshot. I am kind of afraid to post this in the Cuttlebug topic but here goes...
Armed with a stack of paper and my Pillow Box die, I went on over. I brought probably 10 sheets of paper with me figuring for sure it was the die. Well, as it turns out, I only needed one sheet. Stuck my die between the plates with one sheet of cardstock and held my breath. PERFECT! Score lines in place, perfect cut with no little paper hairs sticking out...just fabulous and perfect! I was happy and sad at the same time because I use the CB on just about every card I make and I hate to buy another machine when there is nothing wrong with the one I have. The crank was smoother on the Big Shot also. I was so dang excited that the die worked!! I came home and printed off a page from Amazon with the Big Shot to stick in DH's car when I go out to the garage. I am keeping the CB because there is nothing wrong with it but I am for sure going to ask for the Big Shot for my birthday I also ran the candy wrapper die through there because that was giving me problems as well...of course, perfect as expected on the Big Shot.
SO, that is my little review...sorry for posting in the wrong thread but I wanted to answer anyone besides TLady that had read my previous cry for help.
