As I grow in my ability to design cards I find inspiration in everything and anything (anyone who loves this challenge understands that), but sometimes I am also inspired by card designers who have a unique "vision" that attracts me. This week I'd like to honor one of my all time favorite artists on SCS, who's card designs are exceptional and uniquely inspired in every way. Biggan (aka Birgit) has been inspiring us all since 2007, and her gallery is amazing. To honor her inspirational approach this weeks inspiration site is her blog, Rapport Fran ett Skrivbord, (which literally means "report from a desk" in Swedish). It is full of her amazing design talent and inspirational photography. Everything she does reflects depth, warmth, and a deep passion for design. Let's all be inspired by her blog this week, and see what it can do for our creative energies as well. I know I will end up with at least 5 cards because this is real design candy for me!! smiles
Challenge Goals: Don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the blog reminds you of it. Rather, take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette, textures, or even the greeting on a card that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Tip on getting hyperlinks:
Normally, you can "right click" on an image and select "copy link" from the commands to collect links for your description area (control click on a mac). Please note that if you just click (regular click) it will open in a focus window. (Let's give Birgit some friendly Blog traffic, so link from her blog rather than her gallery when you can.) smiles
Use the keyword: IC420 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded five of my favorites … so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger. Please let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
Oh my goodness, Audrie...you've selected a legendary paper artist...a woman of complex talent stripped down to just the most basic features, creating jaw~dropping beauty. I am gonna sweat bullets down here in my studio! Off to ponder...

Oh Audrie.......... I simply adore everything that Brigit creates. I've admired her work for so long. What a wonderful idea to use her as the inspiration today. We are having our family Christmas today to accommodate our granddaughter and her soldier husband who are home for the weekend but have to go back tomorrow. I will play once all the festivities are over.
Brigit.........I love your work. Congrats!!!

I am a big fan of Birgit's art, although I was always too intimidated to case it! Also, by comparison, I have zip art supplies compared to her crafty arsenal. Nevertheless, I decided to put my big girl panties on for this IC challenge and just DO IT! Heehee!

There is so much inspiration on Birgit's blog, I almost spent all night there. Thanks, Audrie! Here's my Birthday Still Life . Thanks so much for looking!
Audrie- awesome idea, and congrats to Birgit! I love her gallery, and was inspired by her Greenhouse Society card. I started out with a snowflake pattern, and it became a more abstract design, but I like the colors!
Here's Green and Plum

Audrie, you must have been reading my mind. I actually purchased a pad of watercolor paper just two weeks ago for the sole purpose of casing one of Birgit's cards. I kept putting it off - so much Holiday stuff going on. After perusing Birgit's blog, I realized the distinction between an artist and a card maker: Birgit is an artist, I am a card maker, and here is my card Pot Bound.

Just had to do another card- I just love Birgit's gallery- her style is so clean and has such beautiful colors! I was inspired by her card- TLC445 Hello - with its shaded leaves and lovely background shading. I used some cinnamon colored dc leaves, and did a colored pencil-shaded background. Added a script sentiment. Here's Happy Holidays

I was tied up most of the day, but I found some time late this afternoon to check out the Inspiration Challenge. Birgit's clean style is so very pretty. Here's my card inspired by one of hers.
What a fun blog to look around. I'm afraid I took way longer than I should because there is just SO MUCH wonderment to look at and none is worse or better than the other. They are all great. Here's my card. IT was a fun day.
What a wonderful idea to choose Birgit's blog as the Inspiration site for this challenge. A truly talented multi-media artist, Birgit's work has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Congratulations Birgit, and Merry Christmas. I'm sorry I don't have a card today but hope I'll be able to play during the coming week.
What a joy to cruise through Birgit's blog! TONS of inspiration to chose from and inspired me to get out the watercolor paper which has sat on a shelf for sometime. Here's my card.
