Hi there!, I am attempting to merge the "North Ga. Anyone?" thread with this one, so if you signed up for that one, please now subscribe to this thread.
This is for April 19th in Woodstock, GA. Thanks Girlie Girl, Pam, for help with the details :-).
I have reserved a room at the Woodstock, GA VCCI Clubhouse on Sat., April 19th, from 10-4. It will be of the same format the other North Ga. swaps have been in the past, if you've never been to one, I will explain:
Shoebox Swap, Dirty Stamper Game, Demos, Door Prizes, Pizza, Snacks and LOTS OF FUN!
I will now just update this thread, not the one that I had started last Fall and started updating again recently. The location of this clubhouse is 103 Myrtle Rd, Woodstock, GA 30189. This is close to several surrounding towns such as Marietta, Kennesaw, Acworth, Dallas, Ball Ground, Canton, Alpharetta, Roswell, and of course, Atlanta. If you can make the date, please let me know and I will add you to the list so we know how many swaps to make. I am going to assume that everybody attending will be participating in the shoebox swap, unless you tell me otherwise.
RULES FOR SHOEBOX SWAP:
*Full cards only - if your project is a card (ATC cards, Scrapbook pages are also OK)
*SU products and current SU stamps are preferred. It is OK to use other brands, but many people like to show their creations to customers and would not be able to show non-SU products.
*Make sure to bring enough supplies for each person to make or take a card.
*Bring everything needed for the card--this means the stamps, the ink, the embellishments, hole punchers, cutting tools, scrub pad and mist, etc. Please label your items with your name or initials. Each person should bring their own basic adhesive to use at the different stations.
*Pre-cut as much as possible and put all of the ingredients into individual baggies. It helps to have one baggie per person so that if we run out of time, we can grab the bag and assemble it at home. It helps if you have the directions on a sheet as a guide. In case you can't finish the project at the event, it would be nice if you could include your name (real and SCS), and your email address or blog address in with each baggie, so that others have your contact info. if they have a question when they get home about how to complete the card.
*You can choose any project--cards, 3-D, mini-books, 6x6 scrapbook pages, etc. Think outside the card :-)
*Make a sample for your station and put your name with it so we know who designed each card as we move around the room.
*Bring your best ideas and work!!
DIRTY STAMPER GAME:
This is such a fun game! Everyone always enjoys this, if you have never played it, you must try it!
*Gifts should have at least a $10-$20 value.
*Wrap the gift!!
*Gifts can be SU products, hand made crafts, girly things, any stamp or scrapping related product, etc.
*If you bring a stamp set, please don't use used or retired sets.
*We will draw numbers and go over the rules before we start.
LUNCH AND SNACKS:
Unless there is an overwhelming response to not having pizza, we will order pizza to be delivered around noon. Please PM me if you can not deal with eating pizza.
There will be munchies to snack on, as I am a chocoholic, there will be chocolate present. If you would like to bring a snack to share, please feel free to do so.
There is a refrigerator at the clubhouse if you need to refrigerate drinks, please bring your own water bottles and soda, etc.
DEMO'S
*If you would be willing to demonstrate a cool technique or product, we would love to see it, please PM me so we don't duplicate things.
Demonstrations:
DawnB-ATC cards
DOOR PRIZES:
*If you would like to draw for door prizes, please PM me with what you would be willing to donate as a door prize.
COST:
The clubhouse rental is $150, depending on the final number attending, the cost will be distributed over the number, if we have 40 people, it is $3.75 each. Only other cost is for pizza, if you want in on what we order.
UPDATE: Please see thread #40 from Girlie Girl (Pam) regarding how we are going to go about making room for more people at this event. When making your swaps, you will make half of them up as complete cards, the other half will be made up by the attendees. That will cut down on the time, but still let everyone enjoy cards and come home with a bunch more swaps.
I am looking forward to seeing both old friends and new ones! If you have any questions, please PM me.

Reason: UPDATE to remove Sue
Good morning! I just posted to an old thread, so I thought I would here as well- just to be sure! I would love to attend, I will be coming with my friend Robin Anthony who you already have listed.
Thanks!
Christie
You already have me on the list but I'm looking forward to it. I may have to have a baby in tow, so hopefully that won't be a problem. I'm hoping Pam might bring hers as well ;-)
I won't be able to stay until 4 as my son has a baseball tournament in Buford so I will need to leave a little early but I'm planning on having some fun while I'm there.
One more thing to suggest is for people to bring sample swap cards they've just gotten. I know that's one thing that has been fun in the past if you participate in swaps, that you don't mind others thumbing through your cards.
Yep, I would love to see other's swap cards they have gotten. So, if anyone would like to bring some swaps of current sets that you have gotten lately, please feel free, I will have a table for them.
Little babies are OK, it is just difficult to keep walking toddlers out of trouble :-), but babies are fine.

love to have you Sharon, only one spot remaining now.
If anyone finds out that they will not be able to make it, let me know so I can make room for people wanting spaces after we are full. I will start a waiting list after we reach 25 being signed up and will fill the space of anyone that needs to drop with names from that list.
It is also helpful to people that get crunched for time when trying to do all the stations if you can partially put together some of the items for the card in the baggies to cut down on time.

but, I have begun a waiting list, because you never know what life is going to throw at you and you might just have to cancel. Please PM me if you do need to cancel (as soon as you know), and I will take the names, in order signed up, from the waiting list to replace you.
Right now, plan on making up 25 baggies for your shoebox swaps and the cost of attending being $6 each (I will collect the day of the get together)--this is for the clubhouse rental. Also, for those that want pizza, just prepare to bring money to contribute towards pizza on that day.

Maria, please add my daughter Micaela (BBDaughter) to the waiting list. She'll probably come with me and just do some of my swaps, but I'd like her to be able to do a set if anyone has to drop out. She really enjoyed it last time.
Thanks!

Due to some begging for more spots, I am going to open this up to 30 spots, so if you were on the waiting list, you are now in. The place will hold around 100 people, but it just gets to be too hard to get to all the stations, have lunch and do the games if we have more people. I will have a waiting list still in case we meet 30 and some people need to drop.
So, everyone please make enough baggies up for 30 instead of 25.
Thanks, Maria

When we did our swap in Roswell last year we had around 25 people so we split the swap. It worked out great! Maria and I both thought this would work out better to do it again for this one too. This way she can open it up to more people and it will make the swap time more manageable.
The way it works is once we get the final headcount we split it. Lets say there are 40 people. Each swapper prepares 40 swaps but they actually fully assemble 20 of them. The other 20 are unassembled and indidually baggied. When we all meet we set up the room as usual with 40 stations. Then we split the room in half. If your swap that you brought is on the left side of the room then you grab a finished card from each station on the left and you make a card from each station on the right. In the end you leave with all 40 cards but only had to make 20.
Refer to the OP for other guidelines that are still in place.
There should be a final head count about a week out but you can always refer to the OP list for a pretty accurate #. I always cut a few extra just in case. If there are extras maybe we can put out a basket for soldiers or Ronald McDonald House.
