Well, the October 20th meet was such a huge hit, that we immediately began planning our very first crop day with a Christmas theme!
How exciting is that huh?
So . . . the following are the details as they stand right now. I'm still working out some details.
Crop Date:November 17th Location:1177 St Anne's Road (near the perimeter) Time:10:00am - 6:00pm Contact:Wenchie - [email protected] Cost:approx $5
There will be demos, shoebox swaps and free for all time for everyone.
The room we're using has a kitchen (refridgerator, microwave, sinks, etc).
We are asking that those who do not demo or host a shoebox swap to please bring some kind of food stuffs. All that crafting is bound to work up an appetite and we need food to keep the creative juices flowing! Can include paper plates, napkins, cups, beverages, munchies, veggies, sweets, sandwiches, hot foods, or whatever you feel like bringing.
If you are interested in attending, please indicate in this thread and also please advise what kind of 'food stuff' you will bring. It wouldn't be so good if we all brought plates, cups and napkins now would it LOL
Also, we are in need of volunteers to demo or host a shoebox swap. Please indicate here or email myself at the addy above.
We're also not opposed to accepting donations for door prizes as what would a crop day be without some additional fun?!
If anyone has any ideas about additional things that I might (probably) have left out, please please let me know.
You don't want to miss this fun fun day!!
So, mark your calendars now!

Reason: add Christmas theme
Hey -- I replied at Stampin' Canada, but another reply here is as good as a bump. ;)
I can only come for the first hour or two, so I'll bring door prizes instead of food -- unless, of course, not enough people offer to bring food. Now I just have to decide what I'll bring for myself to work on!

As far as I know, I'll be there. Not exactly sure what time, though. 10:00 am. is a little early, since I have to drive in from the west. However, I will bring food, I'm just wondering what. Suggestions???

I told my sweetie that I already had my first crop day planned and he laughed and said - THAT didn't take long did it? I'll leave off the part about coming home with a MORE stamps. I don't have enough to do trades but I can sure bring $$$....
I'll have to think about what to bring as a project. I'm assuming its better to make several of one or two cards - and that way I don't have to lug as much stuff with me? Or do I just say nah lets have fun and load up my trunk with as much as my poor little car can haul there?
Just for the people who weren't at the October Meet & Greet, we should prolly mention that we discussed setting a theme of "Christmas cards" for our November 17 event. That way, we all have a better focus on what to bring for ourselves to work on, as well as what other people might like to "share" (stamps/stamped images, paper, embellies, tools, etc.) over the course of the day.
I hadn't thought about buying/selling/swapping stamps that we just don't use, though. That's just brilliant!
On the other hand, though, give up my babies???? I know I haven't used a bunch of my stamps, but to actually let them find a new home? That's going to take a supreme effort of will! LOL
So load up the trunk it is. I found a great tote/organizer at Costco. That and the two I already have from Michael's will go a long way to bringing a car full of supplies.
I was hoping the theme would be Christmas cards!! I have a great punch from Creative Memories (snowflakes). Actually I have LOTS of punches. Now I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping the stamp sets I ordered will be here in time for the 17th.
me and my sis are for sures..i'm bringing potatoe salad and a cake..sis not sure yet..but she will bring a finger food and a dainty..loves ya

I'll bring my "Nearly Famous Cheesy Roll-ups" and some other kind of easy finger appetizer.
Does this count as my Welcome To Winnipeg, or are we going to use that as a reason for another get together???
Cheers!!

O.K., I started thinking about what to bring, and I'm thinking maybe a nice big spinach dip with pumpernickel bread. Or are people tired of the stuff? I can't wait for the 17th, and now DH's family has organized a family birthday supper (the November birthdays are really stacked up in that family) for that evening, so I go from allday stamping/crafting to fancy dinner out! WooHoo!

Apparently the November birthdays are stacked up in this Winnipeg group too!
I plan to be there all day (you may have to haul me out). I will bring stamps, Cuttlebug dies and folders, punches. I can bring the Cuttlebug too. No need for us all to bring everything!
I also have a little project to share, so if we can get a head count in advance, that would be good. I did a lot of cutting for it today, but I wouldn't want to be short!
So . . . . that's 8 confirmed for all day . . . . 1 maybe . . . and 1 for a couple of hours.
Tashers has offered to do a demo and furnish a door prize
ms_stamp & scrap has offered to do a demo as well
I will also do a demo and try go get something for a door prize
Cindy has also volunteered to demo something
Mel . . . do you think you'd be able to get some of that brown paper on a roll from the store? we have 3 tables available to us. Otherwise I'm going to have to come up with something else. Let me know please.
Is there anyone I've missed here? Please let me know.

Reason: Update attendees - Nov 12th
There are 3 tables in the room . . . one is quite large, it would take two widths of paper and it's about 7 feet long, the 2nd table is one of those folding portabe tables . . . about 4 feet long . . . a single strip will do . . . and the third table is a card table, so rather small.
Whatever you can get would be great. Thanks!

I'm still not sure if I'll be able to come. Currently I'm working until 5:30pm. If I do get stuck working and can switch my shift time, the earliest I'd finish is 4pm. So... will keep trying, but it's not looking too promising for me right now. :(
Ok like i said ..i'm bringing poato salad and a cake..sis (Darlene) is bringing home-made dinner buns and a vegie/dip plate.
I'm bringing my nesties
And some punches etc..
Also remember gals..if you have any stamps to trade or sell..please bring them as me and my sis are...
loves ya
PS: wenchie how are we on paper plates, forks, etc.? i can get some if no one else is..no problem..i'm just bringing my own mug for myself..let me know..

I can cover the paper plates etc, no problem. I'll also have a food item of some sort. I just don't know what yet. I don't think I'm very organized this week LOL
I will PM everyone with the building access code so you can all get in LOL
Does anyone have a demo wish? I haven't figured out what I'll demo yet either lol

Well, it's official...I won't be there. DH and I are leaving for the US shortly. This is the only weekend we could squeeze this in before Christmas. I so-o-o-o wanted to be at this swap! I was looking forward to a whole day of being with you guys, and the demos, and stamping, and lunching, and exchanging, and everything. :( . Oh well, I hope there will be a next time.

I'm really getting excited for this. My sweetie has offered to drop me off and pick me up. If I tried to get there myself I'd be lucky to find it by NEXT November LOL.
I may not have time to get my nearly famous roll-ups made (I'll bring them next time) but I will bring some kind of savory easy to eat finger food and maybe some cookies.
Wenchie, I've got kraft paper in my trunk for the tables.
This sounds like an amazing day we've got planned. I just wish that I could be there for all of it! :( Well, maybe NEXT time will work out better for more of us!
