9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Central Wisconsin Scrapbook & Stamp Expo
John Muir Middle School Wausau WI
Last year there were several awesome vendors including my favorites - B&D Cardstock and Paper Cut, Lighthouse Books & Gifts from WI Rapids,Manitowac Merchantile, Nossers from Rhinelander and a few others.
At Greenheck expo I browsed and bought from TOUCHE' Rubber Stamps from Minnesota and I would love to see them here also! They have some GREAT stamps!
Wausau actually has 3 stamping events a year -
--In February there is a small show at Cedar Creek Mall((sponsored by The Stamp Shoppe in Weston -suberb of Wausau))
--In June is a big one at Greenheck Fieldhouse (they had awesome goodie bags this year that they gave to the first 500 people) ((sponsored by Nossers in Rhinelander))
--In November is another large on at John Muir Middle School ((sponsored by The Scrapbook Studio LLC))

Well, it turns out you're about 1 1/2+ hrs from me.
If you are interested in driving down to Appleton in October, click on the lick in my sigg line. Sarah from the Paper Cut is going to be talking to us about paper and what techniques, inks to use for each with some cards to make. Touche has some cool stuff!

Thanks for the info.
I looked at the Appleton and iot sounds like so much fun! I will talk to DH to see if we have anything going on that weekend and i will let let you know.
I do. My family recently moved back to Wisconsin.
Born in Winona, MN, grew up in Independence, college in Menomonie and Eau Claire. First job in Manitowoc, met my future hubby where we moved to LaCrosse, Onalaska, Quincy, IL, Jonesboro, AR, Brownsburg, IN and finally back to Wisconsin. Whew!
I live in Edgerton currently (and I probably need to update my profile....)
Hi all! I'm currently living in Minnesota but was born and raised in Sauk Prairie. I don't know of any events in *that* area but will keep my eyes on this thread... maybe I can join you girls sometime if I'm home visiting mom and dad!

Don't give me ideas! I heard about these sales but didn't know where they were. What would Fiskres be doing with pottery and stuff?
Maybe this is gardening pottery. They said they are going to have commsumables so that means their scrapbooking stuff that they are getting rid off. I got alot of Heidi Grace rain dots, flowers, brads and so on.
i recently relocated to Greenfield from Minnesota. It's a beautiful area. Looking for places to shop for Stamping stuff. I've found one place one in Cedarburg.
jmr: Good luck with this, most of our stamping stores have folded. The Milwaukee area has little or nothing left anymore! I can tell you that the places I go to might have something for you, though.
Marasco's on west Capitol Drive, about 124th st.
Creative Pals in Brookfield, on Bluemound Road
Further up the road on Bluemound is Accents, and though a craft and framing store, they have stamps and paper crafting supplies.
You can also try Greenfiled News and Hobby, though I haven't been there in ages, they used to have RS and supplies.
The Joanne Fabrics store in Brookfield, on Bluemound Road has a better selection than the rest of the Joanne stores I've seen. Good luck! Andi/Milwaukee

Creative Pals is the home store of Whipper Snapper stamps if you like those stamps as much as I do.
Polka Dots is in Mukwonago if you want to venture west--it is a very nice store.
If you head to Madison, there are some great stores there--Gina K is in McFarland, Scrapbook and Stamping Memories are huge and there are stores in Madison, Appleton and Janesville http://www.scrapbook.net/ Archivers is in Madison too as well as Appleton and Gurnee, ILL
Artist and Display on Burleigh has Copics and some stamping supplies.
The Joann's in Greenfield, by Southridge is one of the nicest ones and there is a nice scrapping store in the same strip mall.
There is also Serendipity in Waukesha on Meadowbrook--it is more scrapping, but has some stamp items too.
Seems like we do have some nice stores yet, though some of the other ones have closed.
Hope this helps and feel free to PM me for more info. Good luck in the new area!!!!!

OK I'm going to put this info on a couple threads and really hope the link works. Just REALLY want to get the word out.
There is a wonderful cause called Cards for Kate but if you get your cards in before October 15 you can win great prizes too. So in an attempt to tell every stamper I know, in hopes each of them will tell at least two more and so on here goes:
This little 5 year old girl has cancer so we are sending cards to her, her brother, sister, mom and dad. Go to this site to see all the details..

Gina K has info on this too, that's where I heard about it.
Happy Stamping!

I am originally from Superior, and moved to Solon Springs when I got married almost four years ago!!!
I grew up in Fort Atkinson, graduated from Whitewater High School, moved back to Fort and then moved to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, which isn't too far from Wisconsin. My husband's family owns a "cabin" in Solon Springs. It is not a quaint little log cabin by any stretch of the imagination (think more shack with an outhouse and no running water). Anyway, thought I'd mention that I know where Solon Springs is.....we go there every summer.
We've had a few spots open up for the October 10th Appleton CURDS event. You can even stay overnight at a cute cabin with some of the gals. Click on the link in my siggy for details and/or PM me to sign up.
C(reative)U(tterly)R(avishing)D(ivas)s are awesome! Join the fun!

I need a final count for our class by the end of the week for our instructor. Anybody who has been debating joining us, this is it! Click on the link in my sig. to see the details for October 10th in Appleton.
Hey Everyone,
I have a HUGE amount of scrapbooking, stamping and craft supplies for sale at the Adams-Friendship Flea Market this weekend (October 3 &4). The sale will be this weekend only . Next weekend I will be taking all the stuff to Appleton for the Curds get together. Then the following weekend I will be going to a swap in Milwaulkee.
The Flea market is easy to find just south of town on Highway 13. Elaine has alot of Stampin' Up stuff there too. Her Booth (they look like garages) has a Tastefully Simple Banner above it. Mine faces Highway 13 and will have tables of sale items set out in front of it. My neighbors have big blankets that are easy to spot.
Plus there is a great variety of Farmers Markets, Kettle Corn, Antiques...it is a really cool Flea Market. Bonus, it's a beautiful drive! The leaves are changing colors right now.
Hope to see you there.
Mel
I will be at the Rubbernecker booth both days--if you are at the show, please stop by and say hello. The site shows that this event is moving in 2010. The spring will be back in a hotel by the airport and the fall one will be at State Fair Park.
If you are not able to make this event, the next one is in Madison in November 21 and 22, the weekend before Thanksgiving is also a great one! Here is the link for that: http://www.stampscrapmadison.com/ There is also a make and take market on Friday night that is very nice. The cost is kind of expensive, but all of the booths are open and it is not crowded at all. I have went on a Saturday a few years ago, and it was pretty packed.
Both shows are very good--they are the only two that I have gone to, so I do not have anything else to compare them too.
I've only gone to the Madison show, so also have nothing to compare, but it's awesome! I learned a few shows back to only go in with cash ... no checks, no debit card, and definitely no CC! I swear, it's the North Pole on Christmas Eve for a stamper! LOL!

I'm in Madtown too, originally from Eau Claire, and lived in Hawaii for 23 years. Hope you can join the CURDS girls. Just met them 2 weeks ago---they're a FUN group.
OK, we seriously need to do a Madison gathering ...
There's an Archivers and a Michaels in Greenway Cross. There's a Denny's there too. Would it be fun to meet up at the Denny's for lunch sometime? I could find out from Archivers if we could have the workroom area on a particular day; then people with projects could bring them along and spend an afternoon gabbing and stamp/scrapping ... does that sound fun?
(If folk would be coming from out of town, there are a few more places not too far from Greenway that might be fun to check out ... two more mini-malls with fabric/craft stores.)
For me, a gathering would have to be on a Sat or Sun. Let me know.

I have a friend who lives in Medford. Sometime (probably next summer) when I'm heading up that way it'd be so fun to meet up with you for lunch or something! I think Sally would enjoy meeting another stamper closer by (we used to be across the street neighbors and stamping buddies ... I miss her terribly!)

Anyone interested in a Madtown gathering just to chat and maybe play with our own projects?

Jean--count me in for a Madison gathering. I would vote for after the first of the year as I am pretty busy most weekends through Christmas. I know that January weather might be a little diicey, but it would give us something to look forward to. How about January 16th--a Saturday? A day or part of a day just to meet, chat, make some cards and maybe do a mini-shoebox. Everyone could bring pieces all cut up for one card and then everyone makes that card that day.

This sounds good! I could come after christmas ans just spend the night with my old room-mate as she still lived there,.
Let me see what Archivers has going or if we could use their workspace.

I am up for any gathering of my stamping friends...new and old. I am starting to go into withdrawal as it has been a while since I had my last fix. Madison is only an hour away so I'm up for anything there. Post the details here and I'm sure we'll find plently of 'friends' to show up and have a great time.
