Here's to another year of Great Friends, NEW FRIENDSHIPS and Swaps. The 2010 registration form is attached with one modification the NOTEBOOK is a JR. LEGAL PAD for this swap. You will also notice that you have a choice for food. The make you own salad would be done just like it was at Hartford. My dressings are Store Bought, but basically a salad bar style set up, please put a dressing choice (Ranch, French etc.) We can narrow that down later if need be. Majority Rules, I am also open to suggestions. Please be SPECIFIC on SODA, Coke, Pepsi, 7UP etc. and have a 2nd choice to make it easy on me. All registration money will be used to cover the cost of Food, Drinks and prizes.
Rummage Sale will be same as last year, anything except Current SU can be sold, please give me a heads up if you will be filling an entire table by yourself so we can set these tables up prior to the swap. Saturday, April 24, 2010 (9am ~ 4pm)

You read my mind! Last night I wrote everything on my 2010 calendar with ? marks for 4/17 or 4/24 - PERFECT - I'm signing up for everything (cuz I like to be like my over-achiever cousins). I'm leaving right now to start the perfect new year off with going out to lunch with Tiff & Tamara - Friendship Swap sign-up sheets in hand!
This is not to far from me as I am up in Wausau. I will have to see about this.
The Friendship Shoe Box last year was a blast - Mel does a super-great job, you should sign up if you can make it - - - new & experienced stampers are all very welcome at her events!

I looked on the map and it looks like Adams is west of Westfield so thats about an hour drive. I have this marked on my calender so I am now officially planning on coming.
When do we have to RSVP and send the payment in by?

I would like to come, however I am not toatlly sure what this is. I've been stamping for a few years but took a break with it all packed up for a year. Now i am eager to get back to it now that i've settled back in my aprt. I live in Waupaca and looking for some friends that share this intrest.
could you get me some more info?

It is a fun time with fellow stampers. You create all your cards per the hostess requirements (see her attachments on post #1). Some are completely done and some are just the components for the card in a baggie. During the event you move from one spot to another making the unfinished cards or picking up a finished card. When done, you will have done many different techniques and have a variety of cards to use for samples to make more of those you like. During the day, you meet old friends and catch up or make new friends. You may win a door prize, but you will have great food to eat.
If you participate in any of the extra (make ahead) options, such as the Altered Jr. Legal Pad - you will go home one of each of the other participants examples in that category....lots of ideas.
Everyone has great ideas and are willing to help anyone asking for help. A great way to try many different techniques. Some you may have done before but find a quicker, neater way to do it. Some you may have never done but always wanted to.
Overall, a great time.

Thank you RobynO. that makes a little more sense. So let me get this straight. I just make up a bunch of cards, and some I do all the components to it in a baggie. Is there a specific amount as to howmany i will need so everyone will get one. Or do we find that out later after everyones registered?
I think that will be fun to do. i already have an idea for the lottery item. I just wasnt sure what the shoebox swap was.
I will definately sign up. sounds like a great way for me to meet some new friends that are close by and share the same intrest. Im just a shy person so its hard to make friends in person....LOL!

Thanks for the Help Robyn. See how helpful everyone is Michelle. Such a great group of ladies. I will post the totals once the registratioin forms are in. For the Shoebox part you just design one card but make enough ahead of time for Half of the group to just pick one up and move on to the next card. The other half of the group will need a packet with the paper, embellishments and such so they can make a card at your station. You will need to bring the ink, stamp set, punches and/or any special tools needed for them to duplicate your card. Occationally someone will stamp the images ahead of time if they can't bring the stamp set. Special tools would be a sponge, eyelet setter, pop dots ~ things other than snail adhesive, scissors and bone folder. Please mark all of your supplies ahead of time because we all have things that look exactly alike. Let's face it we shop at the same places. Hope that helps feel free to ask any questions you can think of someone will always answer them for you.

I don't think I will make it this year. :( I was just a few weeks pregnant at last year's (and didn't tell any of you!) so now /i have a 7 week old and I don't think I could leave her for a whole day.

CONGRATULATIONS on your new BABY!!!!! Enjoy every minute, they grow up so fast! My daughter just turned 8. When she was a baby people with kids the size of my daughter all told me the same thing I'm telling you now. CRAZY just how true it is.
Maybe we will see you next year. Take lots of pictures! Then you can enjoy, remember & repeat.

Several of you already know that the Friendship Swap and Year of Cards have fallen on the same day. This is effecting more people that I had originally thought. Plus, I REALLY wanted to go to Year of Cards too. Does anyone object to moving the date of the Friendship Swap to April 24th? If this is a problem for anyone I will stay with all the original plans, but please let me know soon. Some people may like the 24th better for other reasons also. Not to rush anyone but I'll give everyone until January 21 to decide how they feel about this suggestion. That way if we all agree to change the date I can get the new registration sheets up and out.
Looking forward to everyone's thoughts on this.

Anyone from the Madison Area thinking about going? I'm interested but do not have a car (and don't drive) so I'd like to ride-share and chip in for gas ;)
Well, tomorrow (really it's today cuz it's past midnight) is the big day for me - those kids sure do grow up fast, my 23-yr old son is getting married tomorrow to his sweetheart from Thailand! I'm definitely the lucky one, gaining a wonderful daughter - they arrived in the U.S. at Thanksgiving and only had 90 days to get married - she had to learn about the American way of life so we've put this wedding together in just a week's time! It's going to be wonderful and then they'll have a bigger party in summer to celebrate it. They're living with me for a while so they can get on their feet financially and I'm loving every second of it! She's great at stamping and card making - I'm sure I'll be able to get her to some of our activities soon!
I'm okay with either date for the Friendship Shoebox - the sooner I know the better but right now those dates are both open for me. Mel, if you need any help with anything, don't hesitate to ask!
I'm so happy for you!! Can't wait to meet her, your son must be in heaven with the way you cook and I can only imagine the dishes that you and her are cooking up in the kitchen. Good thing it's all healthy....well except Al's CHEESECAKE!!!!! got to go wipe off the drool now.

Mel: I would love to be able to make the Year of Cards event also as it is for a great cause and she has so many great ideas. So, that being said, I am for switching Friendship to the 4/24. However, I'll go with the majority.

Hey everyone. I have been missing from SCS for awhile and Tiff has been keeping me posted on most of the happenings. Thanks Sis!!! Well Tiff just told me that you were looking at changing the date to the 24th. I would be so happy if it was the 24th because I would not b able to make it on the 17th. So definitely count me in for the 24th.

Thank you to everone that got back to me. Looks like I will be seeing many of you at the Year Of Cards Event!!!! All the new info and Registration Forms will be posted this week. I have to make the arrangements for our stamping space but have been getting some GREAT prizes together for a while now.
April 24, 2010 is our new date. Please check back for any additional changes this may cause.
I'll get the forms updated and re-posted tonight when I get home or first thing Friday. Plan on bringing some with me to the gathering at Archeivers on Saturday too. With the date change we also ended up in a new location but it is easy to find and HUGE. We will be at the Big Flats Town Hall just off of HWY 13. I've used this location before to hold Craft Bazaars with numerous vendors. The building is very nice, I only ask that no one park in front of the Fire Dept. garage doors for obvious reasons.

It was so nice to meet Becky and Emily. The techniques were great and it was so incredible to be able to teach and learn from different stampers. We all thought that the other stampers would have seen our thing before but every class was a delight that proved helpful for everyone in our group! Plus we were able to get advice and suggestions from each other to make our current projects even better. Barb had some georgous swaps that she was working on...with the funniest sayings!
