I grew up in Blue Springs! Go Wildcats! My sister still lives in OP and I go up to visit her as often as I can (uh, yeah, with three kids, like ever ten years!)! I would love to be back in KC except for 3 things, Jan., Feb., Mar.! I HATE snow!!!! Acutally snow is not too bad until the first day it falls. It's the next 5+ days after it has turned all blck and nasty (or yellow in my yard thanks to my little brother). And wind chill factors of like -1000 that freezes your eyeballs on the way to class! And how 'bout that ice? I so miss the feeling of my feet coming out from under me and my butt hitting the concrete! Aw, the memories! Snow here is great! It snows every 15 years and if it sticks to the ground they close everything down so people can look at it and take pictures! If you blink, it's gone and you don't see it for another 15 years!
But then there is the Plaza Lights, and ice skating at Crown Center and we always went sledding at Lake Jacomo! But I would still rather be breaking a sweat and sippin' iced tea by a pool on Christmas Day in the Lone Star state hands down! Unless you factor in the KC BBQ...naw, I'll just have some awsome fajitas and ship some Jack Stack sauce down to put on my BBQ!

LMBO. Oh man that is funny and I can so relate. My DH and I lived in the desert for the past four years and now that winter is approaching here we are dreading it sooo much. I can't stand it all. I am loving the fall, but I do not like winter. LOL.
It's Keri from KC......we are planning on having the KC Regional SCS get together on Saturday night. I will post more under the KC Regionals thread when it gets closer......stay tuned :p
I am from Iowa, and know of at least 2 people coming your way for Regionals in March, we went to the SCS dinner last year in St.Louis for Regionals and REALLY want to come again to dinner too this year.
Hey girls. I am going to send out PM's to everyone on this thread who is still in the KC area, but just to post here as well. We do have an SCS dinner planned and would love to see you there. Take a look. The link is in my signature. Hope you can make it.
I want to see if I can get anyone interested in a swap get together the week of Halloween this year (10/30-11/3). This will be my 1st trip to KS and I'll be in Lenexa for a business trip. I fly in Monday and then leave as mid morning on Firday.
I'd love to meet some of you if you'd be up for a mid-week swap! I'd probably have some free time in the evenings. I have no idea how far away Lenexa is from all of you.

That'd be great! Maybe sometime we can do a get together with people around here. I'd love to host a stamping night or something....I just have to wait until my hubby is back from Iraq and we buy our own house.
