I live in Mesquite. I moved here about a year ago from Tampa, FL. Always looking for a get together to stamp!! I am 26, a stay at home mom to my 2 yr old son, who is a miracle angel.
Born in Lubbock, grew up in Arlington, spent summers on a farm in Estelline, moved to Mansfield for a short stretch and have been in Grapevine for the past 11 years now.
I would LOVE to meet others in this area. Do you ever get together?
Hey, I was also born in Lubbock, grew up in Arlington, and parents are now in Mansfield. We never lived in Grapevine though. I'm now living in San Diego but make it back twice a year to visit. Can't stay away for longer than a few months. Which schools did you go to in Arlington? I went to Hill and Key Elementaries, Gunn Jr High and Martin HS.

Hi everybody, just found this thread, just moved here to Katy, actually I'm outside Katy limits but my address is still Katy. A little confusing to this Cali girl, but I'm trying to adjust. Hope to meet some of you, maybe at the next get together if it's not to far away.

Terri, I have a shoebox swap coming up on the 16th if that's not too short notice. We still have 1 open spot.

Maggie, thanks for the offer I just saw your thread & thought it would be neat but I have to decline this time around as that is my DH's only day off this week as he is switching schedules, so we need to get a few things done. Hopefully next time tho.
Hi Terri,
I live in Katy--old town Katy to be exact close to Katy Jr High. I have been a demo for two years. Too bad you can't make it to Maggie's Shoebox swap. I signed up for that and hope to meet other Houston stampers.
Hi Ilene, yeah I thought it would be neat & even my DH said to go when I told him about it tonight. But we are still trying to unpack & with his schedule changing it will be harder to do especially since we are on a time crunch for claiming stuff that we've found they broke during the move, want to finish this up so we can get that process started. Is old town Katy out by the Katy Mills Mall? Sorry I'm still trying to learn where everything is, I don't think I've actually hit Katy except for that mall.
Hey Terri,
Yes, the Katy Mills Mall is considered Old Town Katy. Wal-Mart is just a little northeast of the Mall and we live about 5 minutes north of Wal-Mart. I'm glad someone from Katy posted on the "Who's from Texas" thread. I've been wishing for quite a while that someone from Katy would post.
Ilene
Ok I think I'm looking in the general area of where you live had to look at a map. I'm further north & east of you off the 529. Any good scrapbooking stores here besides Archivers? The 1 I was told about is closed now, Maridawn's I think is what it was called. I already know I could be in trouble with Archivers for things I can't get with SU!

Hi Terri, yes there are two (2) other stores you may be interested in, but you will have to make it a "fieldtrip-with-a-buddy-day". They are:
Lone Star Scrapbooking on 1-45 N right before the Woodlands Mall &
For the Love of Crafts on FM 1488 in Magnolia.... PLUS, I know there is a new store in Friendswood, but I don't know the name of it... you may want to google it!!!
Hope this helps!! My friend and I will be in Katy tomorrow at Archivers for a Sassy Card making class from 10:30 -12:30 am...
BLESSINGS to ALL...;-)
Thanks mdewulf, I don't think my "buddy"(DH) would go for these types of field trips tho. LOL! But I could very well get him close to the Lone Star store since if I'm correct there is a Cheesecake Factory somewhere up near that mall. Guess I'll have to find where the 1488 is to see abt that one.
I think your DH will be just fine... the Woodlands Mall is just across the freeway... YES, cheesecake factory, PF Chang and a Barnes and Noble to boot!!!
It's a nice day trip... you could make it an 'overnight' date trip with your DH... sometimes we ALL need these kinds of trips...
Oh... wait... theres a Pier One and a JoAnn's on the same strip center as the scrapstore... forgot about this

Hello all! I live in Atascocita (Humble area) but I work in NW Houston and cover 17 zip codes in that area as a case manager for NAM so I get around! I am always looking for fellow stampers and scrappers to get together with! When will there be another shoebox swap? I am sad that I missed this one.
:(
Moved to Pflugerville, Texas (near Round Rock, Austin area) a year and half ago from Wisconsin. I am absolutely in love with the state of Texas and will be retiring here. I feel sorry for my family back in Wisconsin...but they can come and visit anytime!!! Cuz, will be a long time before I go back there!
wow! didn't know we had so many Texans here! i was born in houston, lived in alief, and katy (back when there was just a dairy queen and soybean patties/fields), then moved to richland hills, and have since lived in arlington, bedford, and now watauga!! i love it here!
Hi, Susan! I grew up in the Alief area. Not often I see reference to it! I'm in Sugar Land, now.
Glad to see other Houston-area folks! Alycia, what part of town are you in?

hola! i was only 7 and 8 when i lived in alief, but i still remember our little townhouse we lived in and the shell station across the blvd, and my mom being upset to pay .13 cents per gallon for gas!! we went back through there a few years ago right after a TON of major flooding and it was basically under water!
Hello fellow Texans! I've been hanging out on SCS for about a year now, but just recently started posting in the forums. I've lived in N. Dallas my whole life, and currently live in Frisco.

Cool! My in-laws live in Montgomery. I'll be sure to check out those shops next time I head to the "far north." <grin>
We have a lovely LSS The Scrapbook Village in Missouri City (1092@ 6) and I've been given directions to another one in Sugar Land (Airport @ 1464??)

Been stampin long!?!
I'm in Spring, Texas. I love Magnolia. DH and I are currently renting a nice home but would love to build in Magnolia. It's like being in the country without being far away from things.
I've been scrappin' for 12 years and stampin' for 7 years. I love doing anything creative with my hands. I also cook and bake. Would love to have my own restaurant someday.
I have two children who I homeschool...ages 10 and 11. This is my first year doing it....sometimes I think I'm crazy. ;) But seriously, I enjoy it.
