I was stationed out here courtesy of the army and have been out here ever since (1985). I chose to stay out here because the weather is way more mild than that of where I grew up (Western Wisconsin). I'll pick the 'cold' weather here any day of the week! And the rain, it doesn't bother me a bit. What I do have a difficult time with is earthquakes. But, everything else, I can handle. As far as finding a job, try Craigslist or one of the temp agencies - there are many to choose from.
Welcome to Washington! And if you need to purchase an inexpensive jacket, try one of the outlet stores or even a consignment shop - they have the best stuff! Even Ross or Burlington Coat Factory are some other ideas.

I was born and raised in Northern Idaho but lived in Spokane for over 15 years. Moved to Texas, back to Spokane and then to beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho. Does that count as being from Spokane????....lol

Thanks to Purple7 I just found this thread. I live in Lynnwood, just North of Seattle and love to stamp. I would also like to find others to stamp with. I do belong to a stamp club in Bothell and my daughter has a retreat house in Lynnwood.

Interesting that the OP has not returned to this thread. I live in Poulsbo (that is across the water in Kitsap county) I have lived in Seattle and Walla Walla before.

Years ago when I lived full-time near you, there was an active stampers club that met at the library in Lakewood. Without any stamping stores in the area anymore, I wonder if it still exists.
There is a really nice 7 bedroom Creative Outlet House in the heart of Lynnwood close to stamp and scrapbook stores. Weekends are usually $125.00 per person, but the weekend of Sept 19 - 21st they are having a Special Pricing Autumn Blast weekend. $115.00 for the weekend with the option of spending less for less days. Is anyone interested in meeting me there? We would share the house with people from other groups on this special priced weekend, but we can pick our room mates. I'm in the Briarwood Area of Renton - between Maple Valley Highway & The Highlands! We used to live in Fairwood and moved out this way about 1 1/2 years ago. I go into Fairwood all the time! I'd love to get together for coffee or stamping sometime! Matter of fact a few of my GF's and I get together every other week for stamping/scrappin! I mostly stamp cards, but have been doing a workshop at the Assisted Living where my Mom lives and that has to be very basic paper arts. I do have a rubber stamping group in bothell that meets once a month.
I'm hosting a stamp camp at my home (Snohomish) next weekend (spring and mother's day) if anyone's interested - pm and I'll give you the details! I'm so glad to finally host a camp - it's been 4 months since being able to host one due to an arm injury! Karen
