Heather, you first baby is so special. They are special but the first one makes you feel magical. Enjoy your sweet bundle. Time passes both quickly and slowly at the same time. There will be moments where you wonder what you have gotten yourself into but they pass quickly and when you hear them in the next room playing monster (as mine are now), you wouldn't trade it for all the world.
CONGRATULATIONS! And be sure to tell us how the story ends!
While you all play, gives me time to post the first of what I'm sure will be many thank yous.....
Thank you to each and every one of you!! There are many "homes" people find on the internet and SCS is definitely one for me. I was overwhelmed when I saw the number of people who came from WRAK, from my swaps, my blog group, wherever...to join. And then to open all this wonderful goodness.....it's just so great and what makes this site such a fabulous community.
I don't know how to begin to thank you guys, who took time to make something or buy something and send it to a virtual stranger (and virtual friend ).
Thank you.....
Heather, you are very welcome; I enjoyed being part of the evening for you and baby.
Well I'm just a complete slacker! Not only was my gift late being mailed, I probably won't make it on tonight! :( I have pics of my gift to post so will be sure to share them at some point tonight! This is the first evening out with DH since Baleigh was born!! Hmm...maybe I can make it back in time or maybe just a little late....
Oooh!! Enjoy!!! Good for you guys for getting a night out so quickly. I think that's awesome!
Have fun tonight ladies. Hubby is working late, so I'll be in the midst of bathing and getting all four kiddos to bed. My package is headed to you Heather, late, but on the way!
Thank you Kathleen!! I'll be sure to post when it arrives.
Not according to my friend Tess, who is ALWAYS right and says I'm having a boy!
Truthfully, we don't know. No clue! My intuition has mostly been boy, but I've felt that less the last month or so. Have to just wait and see.
Okay, okay! I give up! NO way can I catch up on everything very quickly! lol!! Sooooo sorry I missed all the fun! Dagnabbit it, anyway. (insert pouty face here).
Heather, don't be so sure! lol!! I only had maybe 3 people out of (seriously) 30+ people say 'girl'...everyone (including me!) thought I was having a boy. Surprise! ha, ha!! And my friend, Janeen just had her baby last Friday...all along she thought 'girl', but instead had her 2nd boy! I'm just saying...
So here's my gift - I swear I tried to email pics to Susan ahead of time, but I don't use the email function on my phone very often, so who knows what email la-la land they ended up in! I wish I'd had time to knit/crochet something, but the sewing machine was a little faster than my fingers! Hope you like it! Also, I'm sooo sorry, but there may be a stray kitty hair or 2 on there! I had it on my dining room table after finishing it and our 2 boys kept sleeping on it! I did run it through the washer with Dreft before mailing out, but no promises that it picked off all the fur! ;) There are a couple other extra goodies in the box, too...nothing too exciting, but I hope you can use it all.
There wasn't good light for picture taking on this particular day, but you get the idea. I tried to use Heather's yellow theme and gender neutral colors, but one little flower for 'girl karma' or it can be a flower for the new Mama.

Cute blanket, Toni! Sorry you missed the fun. I'm sure someone else will have a baby so you can play again :-) (NO - Do not look my direction. Not at my age! LOL )

How did you see my eyebrow go up up in your direction after that comment?? LOL
Here's the card, the complete package and inside front page. I did a 8x8 album similar to the pages I did for Toni.
Kelly, I missed this last night. Sorry!! I love that green color and can't wait to check out the rest of the pages when it gets here! Thank you so much!!

LOL Just a hunch.. I figured for either you or Susan hehe
At almost 51, being a new mom is NOT in my plan. I'd raise my granddaughters if I had to but I've been there, done that, got the grey hair to prove it :-D

I wasn't worried, Heather. A virtual shower isn't any different than one in real life when it comes to trying to keep up with everything going on around you :-)
Besides.. the first time I posted it I forgot the pics. Had to go back and edit hehe

WHAT? I know you are not suggesting that this lady who's close to your age and a grandma 5x already is going to be that person... no way... not unless you are throwing grandma showers now!

Christina - Your gorgeous blanket arrived yesterday. It's beautiful!! Thank you so much.
Our week got off to a rotten start - really rotten. Yesterday was a holiday here and DH and I decided to go out for breakfast. Had our coats on an were ready to go and heard a loud crash from the basement. Our 11 year old cat, Checkers, must have suffered a heart attack. DH found him at the bottom of the stairs and he died in his arms within a few minutes.
He was diagnosed with a heart murmer about three years ago and we were warned it could lead to heart failure. But there were no signs that it was getting worse.
DH is heartbroken!! Checkers adored him...they adored each other! :(
I'm glad you like your blanket, Heather... But I'm soooo sad for you guys.... Those little kitties have a special place in our hearts - all our pets do - so I know this is hard for you.
