I have not been to Boudreaux's. I have heard that Swampys is good but someone said that it was pricey (not sure). I do know that there is a Place by Road House which is between Mason and Fry on the North side of 10 just on the feeder road. It is called New Orleans Poboys or something like that if you are looking for cajun type food. I have not been ther either you would think that I would have since I grew up in New Orleans.
Hi , I have been reading the forums for about 2 months now, and I think it is time for me to do my first post. I live in Katy too and I would love to meet people to craft with. I have been doing scrapbooking for about 5 years now, and I have being making cards as by-products of my scrapbooks. I would love to have a group in Katy that we can meet regularly after the kids start school again next month!. My name is Natasha, and I am a stay home Engineer too!
I live in Katy and I do allot of scrapbooking. I am a Stampin Up Demonstrator so I will be leaving on Tuesday for convention but I will be back the following week if you want to email me personally you can. I have a few friends who so a scrapbooking group and I have a few more that wish to start something once school begin. My oldest son will be in 7th grade attending Woodcreek Reserve Jr High and my younger two boys attend Katy Elementary on in 4th one in Kinder this year. The other girls who scrapbook have kids at other school some in High School, some in Jr High, elementary and some are just toddlers who go to a mother’s day out. I think that there has to be a group or someone if not many of them that you will have something in common with.
I guess I need to move to Katy. I live near Humble and wish I had others to get together with! My stampin buddy moved away. Anyone else up here who is free to stamp????
Hi all! I'm from Katy too. I didn't realize there were some many around here. Definitely on board for the group thing after the kids start back to school. Hope everyone is having a great summer!:-D

Deborah!! i grew up in Kenner, right near the airport! lived there and in ponchatoula (across the lake) until i joined the AF. we just took my mom to Swampy's last friday for her bday ~ food was good, not too pricey, i don't think, but not the cheapest i've seen, either. i do want to try that New Orleans Seafood Kitchen place you're talking about. and have fun at convention!! (so jealous!!! )

<grin>Katy's too far except for a now and then thing. There are a number of us in Sugar Land, too!
We just purchased home recently and will be moving before the end of August. We are very excited!!! Currently we live in the 610/290 Interchange area but will be moving to North Central Houston just off the Hardy Toll Road inside Beltway 8, so will be closer to Spring and Humble. I have had my own stamping room, but will now have an even larger one with a door (that was a must with the house purchase). Can't wait to get it all set up!!! Would love to get together with some of you! I will write more after we get settled.

We had some heavy rain off and on since about 10 a.m. this morning over here in the Spring Branch area. Not bad though. I did take off work today since I wasn't really sure what the storm was going to do and didn't want to leave my home unprotected.

Ladies - I'm at my wits end. Do any of you know of a fresh fish market on the west or southwest side of town? I'm looking preferably for sushi quality but at this point - a few fresh tuna or salmon steaks to throw on the grill would be wonderful.
Yes - I realize sushi isn't really fresh but flash frozen
I live in Katy too, in the Cinco Ranch area. I am also a Close To My Heart consultant. I love having the opportunity to hold monthly workshops during the day and in the evening at my home to get together with fellow crafters. We've got lots of cool projects in store for the next few months. A lot of my customers have expressed an interest in a club so if anyone else is interested, please let me know. I love it when the gals get together!
I moved her from Lafayette, LA so I LOVE going to Swampy's because it's the closest think to cajun cooking that I can find in Katy.
3 weeks and no activity? BAH!
I've been having fun hitting local craft fairs. I'm going to skip the Nutcracker Market (now thru this weekend) - I'm not into competitive shopping <wink> this year.
I'm just browsing around on the website today and see this thread for Texas/Houston...I don't like there but my daughter does and I usually spend several weeks there in the winter. I can work from home and just plug in my laptop and work at her home just as easily and miss the cold NE Ohio winter. She lives near Rice. I will monitor this thread and maybe can meet up with some of you when I visit! I LOVE HOUSTON and would move there in a heartbeat...
lot of us Louisiana girls living in Katy now, huh? been to Swampy's once. it was good! love the bands they have, too! haven't been to that New Orleans place past Fry, looks good, though.
