I am from Houston, too and would love to get together!! I am going to the shoebox swap tomorrow--can't wait!!! I am not a demonstrator either, just a good customer. I live close to the 290/610/I-10 interchange in the Oak Forest area. Would love to meet all of you!

Hi Yuko! Have fun at the shoebox swap!

I'll have to have Archer with me to come to anything so if it's something y'all would rather not have a baby at, please let me know. I really want to meet everyone, but I can't leave him yet for more than an hour or so. Thanks!

if you bring a baby that is less than 6 months old to my house YOU MUST let me play with baby toes.

i have this THING for baby toes.

so long as that requirment is met, i'm perfectly fine with a little little one coming.

Hi!

I am in Spring! I spend quite a bit of time in the Woodlands.

Is anyone from around there??

I see there are a lot of new babies on here. I am a pre-school teacher, and right now am in the infant room. I LOOOOVE my job!

Congratulations to all the new mothers!

Ooh! I also babysit. ;)

Yes, Yuko, the Shoebox Swap was such a great time! It would be great to get together more often in the Houston area!!!! Getting to know others and sharing ideas and inspiration is one thing I love about this obssession, er, I mean, hobby. I think a new baby would be very welcome and no problem at all.

I'm in Sugar land, always looking for fellow stampers, missed the shoebox Saturday, but my card went, my card was the artfully asian card with punched flowers and done in not quite navy, wasabi and apricot. I became a grandmother again Sat morning, a little girl named Emily 7lb 8oz

We missed you at the swap Jody, but LOVED your card. I've shown it and all the other ones that I completed so far around my office today (including my boss - male lawyer) and everyone loved all the cards that were done.

Congrats on the new grandbaby. My oldest DGD is named Emily. Her b'day was on Friday!

Sounds like everyone had a great time. I wish I could have gone. Unfortunately, I couldn't due to my life-threatening allergy to peanut products. It prevents me from doing a lot of things. It can be frustrating, but I try to make the best of it.

Well, there wouldn't have been a problem keeping peanuts out of the building. Just need to let us know how we can help you.

There are two nice scrapbook stores in Pearland and Friendswood on 518 just in case you haven't had time to scout out the craft stores yet.

I am up for another get together! Maggie and I talked about something more regular than the "annual shoe box"...................would love to meet you all!

I'm in Katy, well just outside of the city limits. I wish I could have gone to the shoebox swap, actually I could have if I realized it was the following week & not the week I introduced myself, but I wouldn't have anything to show for it since I'm still trying to unpack my stamp room.

I know there is one called Just For Fun but haven't been to the other one. Actually, I don't know where it is. Most of my "me time" I spend in Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Love them so much.

Novel Approach is on 518 in Friendswood in a shopping strip with a Sherwin Williams. Is that the same one? I've never noticed what's across from it. It's about 10 minutes from Just For Fun. I need to go there again. Well, by need I mean I would like to go there and spend money I should use for diapers.

Default mrsdar: I'm in Katy too!

I know most of you guys are from the south area, but it is nice to see one more from the west I am part of a stamp club that meets once per month. Have you found a group yet, or are you even looking?

Hi Wendy, nope I haven't found a group yet, looked a little online to see if there was anything but other then that I haven't followed thru with anything. I gotta get unpacked, which is my biggest problem at the moment since I lost not only floor space but wall space as well (can't put anything up unless it's with finishing nails & peg board won't hold with just that.) But I would love more info about your group.

Posting here because ya'll look. The michael's coupon from this thread works at the Stafford Michaels so I assume at any of the Houston area ones. If the cashier says differently - ask to speak to the manager.

I'm from Katy also. Katy is a great place to be. Hi Terri, and Hi Maggie--the shoebox swap was great! We should do more.

Hi Ilene, glad you had fun at the shoebox swap. I agree we should have more since I wasn't able to attend.

I am in Humble - in Eagle Springs - but I work in Northwest Houston at Northwest Assistance Ministries and cover the entire NW part of town...

I am having a baby in four weeks (or sooner, we hope!!!) but would love to host a get together or shoebox swap at our community's social hall here in the summer???? What do you think????

Sounds like a great idea Erin! Congrats on the new little one. Hoping that your delivery goes well.
