Thanks, Chris and All.
I did make it out yesterday but the roads were still bad in our development. We have AWD ont he vehicle and I know how to drive in snow, but out here it gets so much ice, I prefer not to unless needed. We went into Martinsburg last night and were fine but came back early enough before things froze up again. And of course there were nuts who think they have big trucks and can do whatever on snow or ice, and of course had slid around and off. They nearly run everyone else off the road too!
Its supposed to be a bit warmer here today, but just waiting on the roads to clear more before I go out this weekend unless needed.
Lets just plan for our fun exchange in January. It will be nice to get a bonus gift after the holidays, right?
Susan, I can check the Bowman and Handley libraries here too. I can check another place in the mall, a candle shop that will let people use their back room for activities. There is a fee but I do not know how much. That would give us all a chance to go shopping too. Unless you think it is just too far out from DC. Let me know what you think. Maybe for Feb. or Mar.?
Things are moving along on the house offer for us, so we are just praising God for His blessings, and waiting on the rest of it. The plan is to close on 12/28. Maybe one of the meetings can even be at my house!?
Please keep my MIL in prayers though. She isn't feeling well and DH has taken her to the hospital this morning, called us very early and asked so we know it is bad for her to do that.
Hi Karen - Yes, looking forward to getting it signed and then being able to progress.
Update on my MIL: Dh just let me know they finally (after 5 hrs at the ER) said the tests all were clear so they are sending her home. I don't know if its just a virus or what but PRAISE GOD the tests were all clear (including scans).
ANOTHER PRAYER REQUEST: A gal I work with, Mirna, just had a baby boy, Nicholas. Apparently his intestines did not fully develop and they had to operate already and will have to do more. They have taken him to John Hopkins now. The family also has two older children, but from what I understand there may be no or little insurance -- please keep them in prayers! Contributions here have at least helped them to get a place to stay near the hospital right now as they were not able to get into Ronald McDonald house.

MARTI: Did you reserve the Purcellville Library for January? What day if so? Just checking with you first to see if we are going there, or if we should look at a place in Winchester for that and when?

Hi ladies -- Just checking in really quickly. We closed on our house on Tuesday so I'm up to my ears in cleaning, remodeling and nuttiness of moving. ALL: Please chime in and let us know if Feb. 5 1-5pm in Purcellville will work for you!!!
Happy New Year! Can't wait to see what 2011 brings...
Susan-I am so excited for you-I pray everything goes as planned and is as stressfree as possible!
I am so looking forward to getting out there and settling into a slower pace of life, and being close enough to get to know you, Annette and Chris better
If everything goes as planned, we may be able to use our new place to host our stamp club. I'll have you over to see if it will work for us.
God Bless!
Chris

HI EVERYONE: I'M GOING TO MAKE THE CALL ON THE NEXT MEETING -- SINCE MARTI ALREADY RESERVED IT, WE'LL KEEP IT AT THE PURCELLVILLE LIBRARY ON SAT. FEB. 5TH, AT 1PM -- AND WE HAVE IT TIL 5PM SO WE'LL PLAN FOR 1-4PM.
FOR THE ONE AFTER THAT, MAYBE WE'LL GO FOR A MEETING NEAR WINCHESTER OR SO, AND WE CAN EITHER LET CHRIS HOST IT AT HER NEW PLACE (DO I HEAR "HOUSEWARMING" THEME???) OR WE COULD DO IT AT ONE OF THE PLACES ANNETTE SUGGESTED.
THE ONE AFTER THAT, PERHAPS WE CAN FIND A PLACE MORE EAST? OR I COULD POSSIBLY HOST AT OUR NEW PLACE BY THEN, WHICH WOULD BE FALLING WATERS, WV, JUST THIS SIDE OF THE MARYLAND BORDER ON I-81, IF THAT WORKS FOR OTHERS. MAYBE WE CAN ROTATE THROUGH THE DIRECTIONS TO MAKE IT EASIER ON EVERYONE AT DIFFERENT TIMES?
I'LL UPDATE THE MAIN POSTS --- PLAN ON FEB. 5TH FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!
CHRIS OR ANNETTE --- LET ME KNOW WHEN/WHAT YOU THINK FOR THE MARCH/APRIL ONE?
Happy New Year friends! I think Feb. 5 in Purcellville will work for me, so count me in. Not sure about Winchester since it would add another hour to my 3 hour drive. Will just have to wait and see what's happening in my life as we get closer to the date. Have a great week everyone.
Ellen
I so want to catch up with you all one day, but I don't dare commit to a long drive in the winter. Hopefully I'll see you all in the spring sometime! :-)
slumber party! As a former Brownie leader, I have ALOT of very comfortable blow up mattresses and tons of bedding. When are you all coming to Buffalo? tee hee!
Annette and Chris -- do you think you can do Feb. 5th?
Ellen -- do you still want to do the class that time?
Susan, I will do a class, but I think it will be something different since January will already be over and the project was a monthly planner. I'll come up with something and let you all know what supplies are needed.
Susan-
I have a work trip at the end of Jan/early Feb-the dates have not been finalized yet, so I'll have to wait to find out if I can make it.
It would have to be April before I can host at my place...I don't retire until the end of March
