Any more news on this ScramperNut? Are we doing a shoebox swap? If so, I need to start planning. Keep us updated!
Thanks for all your hardwork on this as well.

Default Right now we're at 12

Ok, ladies at last count we had 12 people say yes.
BUT I still have messages out there so do we say have enough for 20 people and if we don't use them there we can use them at home??

I am still looking into places, I kind of got side tracked with the holidays, sorry:(

I'll try to be sure and have an answer in a week or 2.
Can't wait!!!!!!!!

Will there be any restrictions on the shoebox swap like SU! only or are we going with NVR (no vendor restrictions)?

any more news about this? I know it is busy around the holidays but I am planning on doing something that I need to get supplies for and I don't want to order it without knowing theme, restrictions, etc.

OK ladies,
Since I 'm new to the shoebox swap thing, I'm kind of planning this part blindly. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Let's plan for 20 people, NVR, keep the project under 10 minutes.
Do we want to do a theme or just have a bunch of different ideas??

LOCATION UPDATE-I have a few calls out so I expect to have the location by next week.

Thank you all for your patience through all of this! I know we'll have a blast afte all is said and done!!!!!

20 sounds like a good number to me (depending on how many RSVPs you get) Come on ladies....it's only polite to let the hostess know if you're coming or not! I do like the NVR thing...but, IMHO, I think a theme would be great. Since it's the end of Jan., what about Valentine's or even Springtime? Just a thought.

a theme is cool with me...i am planning on a valentine's day activity anyway. I think a Valentine's day would be too restrictive though so if we do have a theme it should be Springtime (vday, st. patty day, easter, flowers...).

Thanks Lisa.....for doing all this. Spring is going to be so much fun...although with our temps here lately....maybe we could have had the theme 'pool party' or something! LOL Can't wait to meet everyone and have a fun day of just stamping and chatting....what a way to start the New Year. Merry Christmas and thanks again!!!

We are planning it on Jan 21st in Huntington Beach. I'm still seeking locations, I put it aside for the holidays and then hubby ended up in the hospital so that is holding this up right now. I hope to have a actual location by the end of the week.
See you soon,
Lisa

I will count you in. Please subscribe to this thread so you can be updated. We're doing a Shoebox swap, Spring theme for 20 people.

I don't plan on having a fee but we may need to order food from a restaraunt if we have it in one???

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me or ask here.

I'm glad to have you join us, what part of CA are you in??

Lisa,
Hope that DH is doing okay. Hope that it's nothing really serious. Keep us updated.

Any word yet on where or what time? I am so looking forward to this and meeting some of the great people here on SCS.

I've called a couple of places and haven't gotten far. I was very busy last with DH and Dr's, Insurance and such. I am going to devote next week to finding a location.

DH had an enlarged heart muscle, we're not sure yet if it's from a previous heart attack (that we didn't know about) or heart disease. We still have alot of folow ups and health changes to make!

Thanks for asking

Thanks for the offer. I'm thinking depending on where we get space maybe everyone can bring their favorite snack to share with everyone. I thought this would be a great way of getting to know each other a little better and help cut costs of running to the local convenience store for snacks. It will be BYOBeverage. I'll give full details Friday 1/13.

Oh wow!! You are the greatest! Thanks so much for all your hard work in planning this event! I am definitely planning to be there... does this work as an RSVP?

See you there, please let me know if there is anything else I can do/bring to help you out! Also, if you could post the final numbers so we know approximately how many swaps to bring that would be great.

I just wanted to say a little something about Buca Di Beppo since it seems not a lot of people have been there...
It is an italian restaurant that serves their dishes "family style", meaning that you order for the table not per person. Understandably not everyone is going to like what everyone else likes so you can get a couple of dishes and share. You don't have to do it this way either it is just their suggested way to order from their menu.
That being said it is really good (and this is coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy italian food that much). You can visit their website and see their menu here: http://www.bucadibeppo.com/ You can also read about their dining style in their about us section.

Hope that didnt come off sounding bad I am just trying to help people out by telling people about the restaurant.
I am excited to meet everyone!

I won't be able to make it after all. My dh is going to be out of town that weekend, and that's a little to far for me to go with the kids left at home with a sitter. :( I'll try for the next one though.
