Any more news on this ScramperNut? Are we doing a shoebox swap? If so, I need to start planning. Keep us updated!
Thanks for all your hardwork on this as well.
I've been a Christmas shopping fool and I wasn't on at all yesterday, the first time since I started here!!!!;)
ANyhoo, yes we will be doing a shoebox swap, you'll have to forgive me because I've never done one before...is there anythign else I need to tell you all??
I read the directions Calgamma gave me and it seems pretty simple but is there anymore info you need from me??
We will need to know how many are attending so we can bring enough for the shoebox swap. Any idea yet where it will be in HB? Just curious. I know the holidays are hectic....KUDOS to you Lisa for doing all this during the holidays!!
Ok, ladies at last count we had 12 people say yes.
BUT I still have messages out there so do we say have enough for 20 people and if we don't use them there we can use them at home??
I am still looking into places, I kind of got side tracked with the holidays, sorry:(
I'll try to be sure and have an answer in a week or 2.
Can't wait!!!!!!!!
Lisa
any more news about this? I know it is busy around the holidays but I am planning on doing something that I need to get supplies for and I don't want to order it without knowing theme, restrictions, etc.
20 sounds like a good number to me (depending on how many RSVPs you get) Come on ladies....it's only polite to let the hostess know if you're coming or not! I do like the NVR thing...but, IMHO, I think a theme would be great. Since it's the end of Jan., what about Valentine's or even Springtime? Just a thought.
a theme is cool with me...i am planning on a valentine's day activity anyway. I think a Valentine's day would be too restrictive though so if we do have a theme it should be Springtime (vday, st. patty day, easter, flowers...).
OK ladies SPRING will be the theme of our shoebox swap...please feel free to include Valentine's Day (I'm not sure if that's in the spring but perfect timing)
If you have any other questions please feel free to post or contact me, I'm off to complete 5 albums and a 12x12 framed layout for Xmas gifts!!!!!!:(
Thanks Lisa.....for doing all this. Spring is going to be so much fun...although with our temps here lately....maybe we could have had the theme 'pool party' or something! LOL Can't wait to meet everyone and have a fun day of just stamping and chatting....what a way to start the New Year. Merry Christmas and thanks again!!!
hello, ladies!
happy new year, everyone!
did I miss it or have we set a time/date/place yet? I just skimmed this thread and didn't see a solid date. thanks!
love the 20 spring-themed NVR shoe box swap idea, btw.
We are planning it on Jan 21st in Huntington Beach. I'm still seeking locations, I put it aside for the holidays and then hubby ended up in the hospital so that is holding this up right now. I hope to have a actual location by the end of the week.
See you soon,
Lisa
I would love to attend. Please add me to the list. Is there a fee and if so how much is it and where do I send it? Look forward to meeting you ladies on Jan 21st. I will also be attending the SoCal Mania III on April 1st. I love being back in the states (DH is in the U.S. Navy)
Pamela
I've called a couple of places and haven't gotten far. I was very busy last with DH and Dr's, Insurance and such. I am going to devote next week to finding a location.
DH had an enlarged heart muscle, we're not sure yet if it's from a previous heart attack (that we didn't know about) or heart disease. We still have alot of folow ups and health changes to make!
Lisa.....((((((HUGS)))))) and thanks!!! With all you're going through....still doing this is AWESOME!!!! If I were closer, I'd offer to help, but being an hour away, don't know what I could do. Know that I'm thinking of you and thinking good thoughts for DH's speedy and complete recovery!!!!

I hope he is doing better. Your family with be in my thoughts and prayers. Let us know if you need any help finding a place or getting snacks or something together. I will be happy to do my part!
Thanks for the offer. I'm thinking depending on where we get space maybe everyone can bring their favorite snack to share with everyone. I thought this would be a great way of getting to know each other a little better and help cut costs of running to the local convenience store for snacks. It will be BYOBeverage. I'll give full details Friday 1/13.
Ok girls, On such short notice Buca di Beppo was nice enough to give us a dining room all ot ourselves! They are even opening the doors an hour earlier for us!! We get the room from 10am to 4:30 or 6pm. The only agreement is we order dinner there. Because they are closing the room for us, it's the least we can do, right? The ending time is up in the air we will either order dinner at 4:30 or 6pm depending on the demand for the room we are in, it's Saturday night and busy, busy! Please bring your swap, SPRING theme and a your favorite snack to share witht the group.
PLEASE RSVP TO ME, I NEED FINAL NUMBERS TO GIVE TO OUR HOSTESS!
Thank you and I can't wait tomeet all of you!!!! Below are directions to the location. PLease feel freet o PM with any questions or comments.

Oh wow!! You are the greatest! Thanks so much for all your hard work in planning this event! I am definitely planning to be there... does this work as an RSVP?
See you there, please let me know if there is anything else I can do/bring to help you out! Also, if you could post the final numbers so we know approximately how many swaps to bring that would be great.
Lisa you RULE!!! THANKS FOR THIS!!!! Can you tell I'm excited??? I will be coming and bringing 2 others. Anyone else in the Simi Valley area need a ride? Can I assume that this wonderful restaurant's cuisine is Italian? WOW! This is going to be sooooo much fun!!!!
I just wanted to say a little something about Buca Di Beppo since it seems not a lot of people have been there...
It is an italian restaurant that serves their dishes "family style", meaning that you order for the table not per person. Understandably not everyone is going to like what everyone else likes so you can get a couple of dishes and share. You don't have to do it this way either it is just their suggested way to order from their menu.
That being said it is really good (and this is coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy italian food that much). You can visit their website and see their menu here: http://www.bucadibeppo.com/ You can also read about their dining style in their about us section.
Hope that didnt come off sounding bad I am just trying to help people out by telling people about the restaurant.
I am excited to meet everyone!
Right now we're looking at about 8 people but I still have a few messages aout there. The first count was 12, when I put the idea out there but definitate yes's so far are at 8.
I won't be able to make it after all. My dh is going to be out of town that weekend, and that's a little to far for me to go with the kids left at home with a sitter. :( I'll try for the next one though.
Lisa,
Now that you've done all the HARD work, is there anything else you can think of that I can help you with? Name tags for everyone or something? Let me know. I AM SO JAZZED ABOUT THIS!!!!
