Hi girls! I am SO excited!! April is best for me since I have a big exam in the beginning of March. Other than that, it doesn't matter. BTW, what is archivers? Also, can anyone explain to me how to send this thread? I'm technology challenged you see :o)

Sue, do you just want to send the thread link to someone? If so, highlight the address at the top of the page, then paste it into an email or pM
Hi everyone! Just wanted to get some ideas going for refreshments. An idea I had was maybe an appetizer bar...hot & cold dips for chips and veggies, maybe some fingerfoods?
Ideas we have so far are:
Sub Sandwiches
Appetizer Bar
Michelle that sounds good to me food wise I can not think of anything else right now.
Also I was thinking now that Kim is working for Achievers maybe she can at least give us info about if we can have food in there room and things like that just a thought.

Great idea on the food Amanda and Michelle, I'll chip in for a sub sandwich. Or if it's to much of a hassle (some might not like a certain meat or condiment on it) then we can bring our own sandwich and each bring a snack/appetizer of some kind to share with the group.
DANG!! I am going to a SCS gathering in WA March 31st.....there is no way will make it to Idaho a month later....:(
I really need to plan on a trip home to see the family at the same time as one of these get togethers....I always miss out....:(
I think you can get the sub with no condiments on it and they will just send it for people to put on them selfs.
I am sure we can figure it out so we don't have to bring our own sandwiches and snack too it can get to be alot of stuff you have to bring

I know! I have plenty of good excuses to come to Idaho too, my Grandson is there for crying out loud...hmmmmm I will see what i can do, but no promises
Since the store isn't done just yet, this is all speculations, but Archiver's should have a kitchen that can be used, they really don't like people eating in the work rooms, but you can have a drink as long as its a screw top lid.
So, for food, why don't everyone bring their own lunch, that way you eat what you like, and if you feel like taking a "lunch" break, you can pop back into the kitchen for a quick bite, that way everyone doesn't feel obligated to eat at the same time.

Hi
I am up for any time except for the 3rd Saturday of any month, because that is when my demo like's to have our stamp camps. Any place is fine with me. Just let us know. Archivers is close to home. As for the food Subway or Blimpies sounds good. Panda Express is right accross the street from Archivers There is an Arby's and Good Times drive thru restaurant in that is in that area too. So there are lots of choices. I think we need to stamp images or do simpler cards if we can't take longer time to do them. I felt rushed at the last one at Golden Corral. I am excited to see everyone again. Oh Lila Holgate, I would like to find out more from you about the mono refills.
Thank you,
Sharon Johnston

Count me in! My only criteria is that I'm leaving on vacation the last week in April, so if we could do it earlier in the month, that would help me. How fun to meet my SCS sistahs!! Thanks, Amy for sending me the link! Can't wait to meet you all.

Where is Panda Express? I don't remember seeing one by Archivers.

Oh, I'm so excited! I missed out on the last get together. Count me in - I can't wait to meet my fellow SCSers. I think anytime in April will work for me.
OK I know everyone is excited about archivers but it was nice to have the food in the room at the first one so my vote is for one of the places where we can have food int he room.
As for a date I 7th or the 14th work best for me.
How many did we have last time?

I think it would be hard to do more than 20, but maybe we could do it. I'm a definite yes.
Any of those dates will work for me, as far as I know. I think we'll get more stamping done if we're not at Archivers. ;-) I think I'll be making my pilgrimage there when I am not trying to accomplish something else.
I like April 7th the best, the 14th is okay too. I agree with Amy, that there might be too many 'distractions' at Archiver's.
Not sure on the limit of people...I like to get to know new people, and yet was a little stressed on the amount of projects last time. Sorry, I guess that doesn't really help.
Hey... why did Cut & Paste go out of business?!?! Because of the big mean "FOX books?" (Ode to "You've Got Mail!")

I heard it was because of personal family issues. And I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend, and now I'm telling you...so it's truly reliable info. I'm just bummed because I WAY prefered them to Paper Cottage. Much better tables, store layout, etc.
I would prefer not to limit the number attending, especially if we secure a facility that could accomodate a larger number (more than 20 as suggested). One of the first SCS shoebox swaps I participated in was in San Antonio and during the Regionals there. (Remember this is/was where Beate J and Jenn Balcer lived) We had so many that wanted to participate (I think we ended up with 50-60 participating and several who dropped in to visit) and rather than limit the number, we decided that we would not necessarily do all the swaps but rather break into designated areas with 10 people in each group - a person only completed the projects that were within their group. By doing it this way each person had ample time to complete their group projects without worrying about not being neat, it allowed for a little more detailed or time consuming projects, along with eating and visiting. I think this worked very well for all in attendance.... just a couple of thoughts.
With regard to the date - I'm totally open, but really need/would like to get it on my calendar -
Looking forward to seeing everyone again and meeting new folks. Happy stamping, Lila
I vote for archivers. The store will be around for a month and a half by the time the swiss comes around, and I prefer not to have food and drinks at my table, cause "accidents" happen. It will also be nice to have "oh I forgot my....." and be able to go buy one.
Archivers will only hold 24, so I can see this being an issue if more join.
Oh and you can have "snacks" at the table like little candies, just not foods like sandwiches. Also you have drinks as long as they have screw top lids.

snip.
These are good points. I live in Nampa, so my trips to that area are not that frequent. But you're right, I probably will have looked around before April! LOL
Here is a swap looking for someone from Idaho. I thought maybe one of you would be interested. You'd end up with a cool album with a card from every state. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Hey Ladies...I am getting lots of Yeses for the 7th...and that looks good for most people, but I just looked at the calendar and Easter is Sun the 8th...does that throw a Monkey Wrench in the works?????
Well, we talked to the store manager at Archivers about the food situation, and she said that as long as everyone at that table is okay with food, then she doesn't see a problem unless its really messy. But if one doesn't want to then the rest should plan on eating in the kitchen. Each table fits 4 ppl.
I have missed the past events and would love to come.(Last year was not a good health year for me and my family.) April works better for me, after Easter, but not the last weekend due to another church commitment.
I'm in Middleton also, so any Treasure Valley location will work for me. And Lila, count me in on the mono refills and coasters.
Rachel - keep us posted! Thanks for all your coordinating work.
I like Lila's idea of not limiting the number of attendees, but limiting the number of projects each person completes. I would prefer a leisurely stamp experience where we can chit-chat and get to know each other too.
Hey ladies...........I have been laid up (or down rather) But wanted to get some more feedback on the 7th....if it is too close to Easter or if the majority are still OK with it...
Also, I am good with Archiver's if we can do food, and I am good to go on letting all who want to come to sign up, I guess if it gets out of control I will split us up into 2 groups.
Lets make a sign up deadline of March 1st and we will get the date set in stone that day also, that way I can call and schedule at either the library or Archiver's to schedulet the room.
In theory, I want to say that the 7th is fine. But in reality, I think you're right--Easter family stuff will come up. If the plan is still 10 am, then I think it can still work. Don't know how many will be involved in egg hunts, etc.
The 7th works best for me - I've now got the weekend of the 13-15th scheduled for the IdahoScrappers retreat in McCall. Let me know where - hopefully will be the 7th. If ends up being the 7th I would still like to know if anyone is interested in going in on a purchase for monoadhesive and/or coasters. Will need to firm up the date ASAP and start to get a close number for those who want mono or coasters so I can shop and get ordered.
If you are interested in mono or coasters please PM me direct - I will only be taking orders for those attending or have a representative attending - CASH & CARRY - no shipping available. rubba hugs, lila
