One Convention is over, but there is always another! Swappers Anonymous has already started preparing for Convention 2009! We'll meet and swap and have the best time ever!
If you want help with your Convention Swapping Disease, join us!
I was checking out another thread in here and curiosity lead me to look at this one. Kim (s1itcher) was sporting one of your cute name badges and told me all about you while we were driving home from convention one night (it might have been the night we were stuck in traffic and had time to nap in the car before we could start moving again!).
Anyway, after looking at all your cute swaps I might have to bump up my swapping for next year so I can join you!

I don't know if you remember me or not, but I was at the swap in Layton last fall.
We have very lax membership requirements around here. Just be half crazy and promise not to make fun of anyone who over commits to too many convention swaps. (At least not on the thread).
Paula,
I do remember you! Your cute project is almost directly responsible for my buying the water color wonder crayons! I'm hoping that I can come to the next swap in September (darn school is getting in the way) so I can see what crafting gadget you will get me hooked on next
Thanks Amy for keeping us alive! I will follow wherever we go :p
Paula, I am using your SA fancy fold swap for my open house next week. Except I am changing the colors and DSP to the Green Tea and coordianting card stock. I think I'm going to use the Say it with Scallops set and the square punch, provided it doesn't get back ordered! I almost used Amy's, but I remember I did a pocket card on my last open house and decided for something a little different.
I'd like to say I wouldn't be as crazy for swapping next year, but who am I kidding? Crazy is just in my nature. (but not a bad crazy)
Crissy- I am glad you liked the card and can get good use out of the swap. Please post a picture so we can see it with that yummy new paper.
And remember, I only said you had to be half crazy. ;)
Would it be totally out of control to do 3 make and takes at my open house. I am thinking of doing a paper clip book mark, a 3x3 card and a full size card.
Hmmm. Maybe I will just make the book marks and put them in my thank you bags for those who purchase. I just figured they would be a cheap make and take because they don't take much paper at all and I got the paper clips 15 for $1 at walmart.
Hi, Everyone! Glad you started this thread, Amy! Now we can enable each other all year long! And welcome, Missi! Watch out - before you know it, you'll be up to your eyeballs in swap committments!! This group is dangerous! (But fun!)
Life is slowly getting back to "normal" - as I mentioned, I played tennis on Saturday, and today I swam laps at the gym. Whew! It feels good to be exercising again! We found the most awesome restaurant in Salt Lake City - Market Street Grill - I'm sure that place alone is responsible for a few extra pounds! But so worth it!
I love the SA swaps cards that I received so much that I'm going to case every one of them! Thanks for all the great ideas, girls!

Yeah Amy - even if they move us, we'll find a home wherever we go with each other.
Missi - Glad you joined us. Your project you gave me at the shoebox swap was one of the favorites for my customers!
For business talk, I have one demonstrator under me and I haven't been the best upline since my sister takes care of all of us. But she came over tonight and we got to talk shop, go over business plans and customer things, and it was just a great way to conclude the last few days. I'm excited to pack up the house though - it's hard to look at everyone's great projects and not try to make them myself to see if I can!

I should clarify, my expidited order is 2nd Day...so I will get a huge present for my husbands birthday which is Thursday! How cool is that!
I do need to give my DH an extra flash (Amy I will let you fill Missi in on that)...he bought my an iPod for our anniversary yesterday. My first MP3 player! That will be so nice on my overseas plane trips (I will be going to Ukraine January 31st - anyone else want to come?).
Tomorrow I clean the entire house or bust! Then Wednesday I can get my craft room ready to receive more rubbah and have it all put away before DH gets home from work and he will never know how much I actually bought
I have no idea what you're talking about, Lisa! :-)
I keep missing that memo about cleaning the craft room. Anybody wanna come help me???? The real problem is that I'm out of space. (Not IN outer space!)
My Card Buffet is tomorrow and Thurs am. My UPS man usually comes late, and I will be tired and my craft room will be a disaster. I'm sure I will still find a way to enjoy my new goodies Thurs night. LOL
Just checking in to say I found the new thread. I am still reeling from convention! My bedroom looks like a tornado hit it! Suitcases still unpacked and swaps everywhere.
School starts Wed. for my 2 teenage dd's, trying to make an education plan for my 2 dd's that I home school. DH left town for his HS reunion (I am SO glad I didn't have to go with him!). Life just isn't slowing down at all!
Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be stamping! I did sign up for more swaps, didn't I????
So I started up a blog just this spring. It took me awhile to get into the swing of it and now I've gone nuts! I'm not one to post pictures in the SCS gallery so all you very kind ladies - check it out and leave me a comment. Make sure to note you are from the SA group! My customers will get a kick out of learning what that is!
Oh, and so sad I missed out on the SA group picture. When was that taken?
Hey girls, found the new post so I am just checking in! You are such enablers, now I have signed up for 3 swaps already since Convention is over, what am I thinking??

Lisa- I was laughing about stamps for your DH's birthday. Sounds like something I would do (actually, his birthday is the first part of September, just in time for my mini preorder to arrive.)
And good news, I have had several people tell me they are looking forward to my open house this Saturday. I guess all those enthusiastic emails paid off. Now if they will all just buy something so I can make up for some of the money I spent yesterday!

Apparently I'm going to have to go back to the original thread and figure this "flashing" business out. If it's what I think it is, does it cause your husband to have amnesia regarding the amount of $$ your SU purchases add up to? ;)
Stacy, I'll send you the instructions for the project when I get home tonight. I supposedly working right now.
Paula, Good Luck with your open house. I think your enthusiasm will be infectious with your customers.
Not sure if amnesia is the right word, but it sure helps distract him from caring... ;)
I suppose I should get something for DH for his birthday - don't really think he wants wood blocks with rubber...maybe a new recliner as his is broke...
Me three! And that means it will be here for me to play with on Thursday night while DH (aka Conlyn) has band practice across town. Love being married to the musical type - he does his thing twice a week and I get to do mine without feeling guilty!
On the shipping notices, can someone explain this to me? If it says 1-2 picking and someone does expedited shipping, does it move all those orders first and then those that ordered when it said 1-2 days get bumped? Curious why my new order shipped before my mom's order did that she placed on Sunday for retiring goodies.... Any thoughts?

No shipping for me today. But I am OK with it. If it doesn't go tomorrow, I'll be mildly annoyed and if it doesn't ship by Thursday, I will be panicked and have to go back to the drawing board for a small class I have Saturday morning. I had 3 customers who really wanted to make the shadow box that was on the rub on page in the Spring/Summer Catalog. I want to use the Always stamp set with it and it is in my order. But I am staying positive. It said 1-2 days when I ordered and tomorrow is day 2.
But with all the swaps I received and all the new ideas in the catalog, I cannot get my make and takes figured out to save my life. I keep thinking that I need to feature the promotion sets but the cards I come up with are too complex for the newby stampers who are coming.
But tomorrow is a new day and one of my BFF that I have known since I was 10 is in town and we are going to breakfast. I am really looking forward to that! She found out she has an aggressive form of skin cancer last month and she is in between surgery and treatment and it will just be good to give her a big hug.
And Kathy, my friend's dad was in Samoa the same time my dad and your parents were there too. Small world!
I am trying to get organized for my adopted upline's annual garage sale this week. I leave Thursday, drive to her house (2.5 hour drive) and I'll be staying till Saturday afternoon. The sale is Friday. I have all my retired stuff and old CTMH stuff all tagged and ready to go. I have all my convention swaps in a binder to share. Hopefully my order of new goodies will be here in time to take with me to show those off too.... LOL!

Any expedited order placed before 11 am has to be shipped that day. So they "cut in" in front of *everything*, usually. Then the pickers (sorry, that sounded like a swear word!) go back to whoever was next in line till they get tomorrow's expedited orders. LOL
I've been toying with the idea of a blog. The gals in my club want to be able to show their friends at work some of the projects we make. I wondered if that might generate some interest so I could get a few more to come. I want my group to stay small (I know that's crazy, but I work full time and will be in school full time), but a few more gals coming and some new faces there would be fun. I just am not sure I want to deal with one more thing I "have to do".

Hi Missi! Here are my thoughts on a blog. I started mine almost a year ago; I wanted a place I could put my creations for everyone to ohh and ahh over! I honestly didn't think I would keep up with it. But I think I have been pretty consistent with posting. A lot of bloggers post every day and that is awesome, I just don't have time to post every day and I usually don't get to my stamp room but a few times a week, so I definitely do not create enough stuff for daily posts. I have not gained any new customers from my blog, but if your customers share it with their friends, it could certainly help get a few new faces.
I use blogger and it is free. It is super easy to set up and you could probably set up a very simple blog in under 10 minutes. Then add to it as you see fit. You could only post the projects that you do in your club, or you could post more, its up to you. And if you don't like it and decide a blog is not for you, you can just delete it!
I started my blog on blogger just before convention. It was so easy it was scary, like did I miss something really important???, but no, it was just that easy. It is fun for me. Hopefully as word gets out to my customers and friends they will enjoy it too. It's not all about stamping...or it won't be...so far it is. Just a piece of my corner of the world.
Anxiously awaiting my order tomorrow! Today seems to be creeping along very slowly, I cannot imagine what it will be like tomorrow when I really want to get home! (I am supposed to be working right now...)
