First of all, congratulations. You have a wonderful wedding and fantastic honeymoon. (I was just kidding about you doing my cards). I do have a few ideas in my head, but getting them on paper is another story. Bring some of your wedding pictures to the stamp mania, if you have just a few. I would love to see some of them.
Hee hee - I knew you were kidding. Thank you. I'm sure your swaps will be gorgeous. I will definitely try to remember to bring pics.

LOL - unfortunately, there is a reason for my stamping madness. I leave in 2 weeks for my wedding and honeymoon. Will be gone most of March and only back just in stime to make it to stamp mania. So sorry, can't much help you there as I'm frantically trying to get all my stamping stuff done, coordinate the wedding and the honeymoon
Congrats on your wedding!! When is your wedding date? I celebrate my 10-year anniversary on March 21st... we are going to Philadelphia to celebrate.
Hope everyone is working on their cards. Mine are almost done, just need to adhere the circles, then wait for my wild wasabi stamp pad to come in so I can put the last finishing touches on. I made 32, hope that's enough or I'll have to start again.

How's everyone else doing?
can use any thing to make the cards or do we have to use cur-SU stamps only???

According to the directions on the first post, it is limitless! Yay!! Here are the guidelines.
"Here is my take on the guidelines. I believe at convention you are supposed to use current SU only, but this is an SCS event and the vendors used on SCS are limitless as seen by our member companies. So with this in mind make whatever represents you, whatever you like, whatever your passion is at the moment, let your creative juices flow and bring a big WOW to the swap. Please use quality products, there should be at least two layers on the card base and whatever embellishments tickle your fancy.
Please include a recipe - make sure to list the vendor products used. Have fun and let's see what everyone comes up with."
I haven't even started mine yet. YIKES!!

I just started my full card swaps tonight. I have 12 made so far. I will probably make 20 or 25 for Kim's swap. I still have thirty to make for SDiegoGal's swaps. I would say I am kind of behind. But I will make it.

You're not behind. We still have 45 days, plenty of time.

Kim, are you making all 32 identical, or do you have a couple of different styles? I might do 20 cards all together, 2 different cards- ten of each design.

Tina, that's a good question. I made about 20 all of the same card. I ran out of dp so if I make more, I need to come up with a different design.

If I get to it, I'm hoping to round up all of my left over demo cards from workshops, so mine are likely to be different from each other, possibly 2-3 of any design.

I currently have one design in two different color combos. If I make more they would be a different design. We'll see if I get around to more.
You can make anything you like, all the same or all different is up to you. It's just fun to swap and see what other people come up with.
I am in two swapping groups in the "Unofficial Cardfront" Swap being hosted by Michelle. Since they are swapping in groups, I have to be there at a particular time to be involved in the swapping. According to each of the threads (yours and hers) the swapping will all be done around the same time. What happens if while I'm swapping in my designated groups, you all are doing your swapping?
My concern is that by the time I am available to come and swap with you all, that the ladies will have all swapped and dispersed. Do I even make sense? I'm just afraid that there will be no one left with whom to swap and that I'll be going home with all my cards that I brought.
I guess what I'm asking is: Will there be any type of system set up to ensure that there will be ladies with whom to swap for those who are interested?
Thanks.

Rebecca, that's a good question. I am in three of Michelle's swaps and so far I have 20 cards for Kim's swap as well. I really don't want to go home with all of my cards either.

The convention style swap is not an organized swap like Michelles. I'm not a demo, but what I have absorbed from being around my demo is that people keep swapping until there is no more swapping to be done. I am going to try and be there early so once I'm there I will hang up the BLUE sign and people can start swapping as soon as they get there. I think we can also swap after the event and before dinner so long as there is no swapping inside the room where the stamping is being done.
I wouldn't worry. We might not all swap all of our cards depending on how many people participate on that day but I am confident that we will swap a bunch. I made 32 cards in two different color schemes and if I come home with some, well that's ok too. I can use them to mail out to friends.
I wanted to post a picture of the blue "Convention Style" swap sign that I threw together.
I will tape this to a wall somewhere at the event so we can try to congregate in one area to swap.
Look for the sign.
The little circle in the corner is my disposable blue swap tag to pin on my shirt until we are done swapping. Just something simple, quick and disposable.
I have a few cards finished for this swap. I'm hoping to finish the rest of them this coming week. It would be nice to have a week to just sit back, relax and just wait for the day to come. We'll see.

Sit back and relax, you're funny :p . There is always more stamping to be done. Can't you hear your stamps calling you..............you know you want to stamp some more.
Hey Kim, can you move me from maybe to yes? I've made some cards, found some that were samples, and made a few other things. I'm hoping people won't mind swapping for other items, too.

Done. I'm sure no one will mind swapping for other items. I'll swap with you
I have a question. Do these full cards need to have a sentiment stamped on the inside or do most prefer to receive them empty and then stamp their own sentiment?
Thanks, I'm almost finished.

You can do whatever your heart desires. My only experience with swapping was last year, I swapped about 24 cards and none had any sentiments on the inside, I would say most had a sentiment on the front of card and a handful had no sentiment at all. Mine just have the little circle "hello" from the In The Spotlight set on the front somewhere so they can be used for any occasion (I think anyways)

Hi Mama Kim, I have another question. Since these are full cards, would you prefer that we not put a label on the back of the card with the recipe and another label with our real name, SCS name and email address. I was getting ready to print labels for these cards, then thought that maybe someone just might want to actually use it. This is what we are doing on Michelle's swaps, but those are card fronts. Thanks.

Personally, I would love a stamped by stamp and your name...and some way to get ahold of you (email or phone) if you don't mind. I plan on showing off the cards for a while at workshops and then using them.

Sandra,
I would say to put a stamped by, handmade by, created by label or stamp on the back but put your recipe on a removable sticky note or a piece of paper. I use all the cards I swap at some point. I will case them but also use them.
I have a little sticker that I put on the back of all of my cards that says created by Kim, my email address, and copyright Stampin Up for the angel policy thingy. I have my recipe on a little piece of paper and put that in a clear envelope along with the card. That's how I put mine together. Hope that helps.
I just got a PM from Ginger Prestwich who said she is also bringing full cards to swap. Just an FYI, there are now 19 people on the definite list but you never know, it might be 10 or it might be 50 so bring whatever you would like to swap with.
