NY - Secret Sister thread - 2010 Flower City Gathering
Let's use this thread to keep in touch without revealing who your secret sister is. This is a great way to say thanks for that card or for anything else that your "sister" may do for you. Just as a reminder, I have added the requirements that we all agreed upon at the gathering.
We decided as a group that the minimum secret sister requirements are as follows:
-a card on her birthday
-one card for each season (winter, spring, summer, fall)
-a papercrafted gift with a $5 value at the reveal at next years gathering
We wanted to keep it simple and pointed out that you can do as much as you want, but above would be the minimum.
Carolyn has the master list of who has who. If you need a reminder of who your secret sister is or have misplaced her sheet, please contact Carolyn directly via email. Her email address is [email protected]. If for any reason, you are unable to fulfill your commitment to your secret sister, please contact Carolyn. If this occurs, it will be posted to this thread and we will ask for volunteers to fill in so that nobody is disappointed. We understand that things happen in our lives that are beyond our control, so be assued that we will not reveal the name of any person who is unable to fulfill their commitment. We will only give the volunteer the name and address of the person that needs a new secret sister.

Yesterday I received a card from my Secret Sister. The card was from the 2010 gathering...Wow she is fast! I am still oohing and aahing over the cards that were swapped and made on Oct.2 and now I have something new to ohh and ahh about. The card is peach & brown with blue punched daisys with green centers. "Live well,laugh often and love much" is stamped on the front. I must be living well since I already received a card and I "love "it. Thanks, Sis for the beautiful note inside. I will be trying to guess "who" you are since you told me we swapped card fronts! Only about 20 people to choose from.

Either way can be done. If you want to let your secret sister use the card, you can write a note on a sticky note, which she can then remove and still use the card.

In my name is the date for the gathering in Aiugust for next year. The vendors at the Rubber Stamp and Scrap convention asked me to do it again next year before the end of the day at the August convention in Hamburg.

Thanks to my Secret Sister for the beautiful card!! I was so surprised to get a card not even one week after the Gathering...my you're fast and talented as well.
Ina...So happy that you were able to get to JoAnn's with Melissa for the alphabets...I was hoping that they still had them when you got there. I went to another JoAnn's and got a second set as well. So happy to have you at my table once again this year. You are one talented lady and I hope that we can sit together again next year.

My secret sister struck again! My husband and I received a beautiful Thanksgiving card with a little something (acrylic stamp) tucked inside. The card is absolutely exquisite and there was a nice little note included. Thanks you, sister and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, too.
Got a beautiful package from my secret sister today! It had a gorgeous thinking of you card, as well as a very cool tag book, and a thanksgiving card! The tag book is so cool, it has pretty die cut leaves & a cool fleur de lis pattern all across the bottom & them some really cool fibers on each tag. It is so nice for fall! Love this thanksgiving card too, it is embossed and stamped with that pretty set french foliage. I saw some beautiful cards using that set at our fall stamping day. Thanks secret sister!!!
Thank you to my secret sister for the beautiful Thanksgiving card that I received today!! Tucked inside were some beautiful 4x6 pieces of paper, ribbon and the cutest little brown rick rack that I have ever seen!! I can't wait to use my new goodies!! Thanks again!!

I've been busy lately but wanted to be sure to thank my secret sister for a beautiful Christmas card. I love that she embellished the envelope as well!
Thank you Secret Sister!! Got a box from you! So excited to open it up!! The kids were so funny with the anticipation of wondering if there was something there for them (did this sentence make sense?)! They are already addicted to the Secret Sister concept!! Can't wait for Christmas to open my goodies.

Wow! I want to thank my secret sister for the great gift I received in the mail today! It was a beautiful winter box, perfect for storing cards in, and a lovely little sunflower dish, a gorgeous silver star photo ornament, a large bag of Christmas M&Ms (I've dug into them already) and two lovely cards. Thank you so much......it was a wonderful surprise!

Gayla, I hold a gathering that is a little different than the rest in August at the Hamburg Fair grounds during the rubber Stamp and Art Convention on August. The first year I had about 12 girls sign up. Last year we, Sue Lynch and I had I think last count was 34. This year we are shooting for 50. It costs under $10.00 and is a whole lot of fun. We still have the swaps and make it take its which are usually new folds or techniques. I'll send more details in the spring when I get more information gathered together.

The Flower City Gathering is scheduled for October 15th, 2011. We are changing our location this year. We will be having it at Carolyn's church in Canandaigua. I realilze this shortens the commute for some and lengthens it for others (especially Ina and Melissa!!), but am hoping that this will not cause any issues for participation. It's great space and I'm sure it will be great!

Did you also get the date for "Stampin Along the Lake on March 26th. the cut off date for registration is February 18th. It is on the forum. It is 20 shoe boxes with alot of swaps so you take home more cards and projects. and it is close to home at the Wayside presbyterian Church, anyone need a ride??? 10 swaps in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. The day will be over before you know it.

I can't wait for the Amherest swap. it was grand last year. I'm making my DH go to the first competition black powder shoot alone this year(Gonna try to talk his son in going and helping him) He is lost without me but he knows how important these are to me. Doesn't conflick with the Akron Ohio Adventures in Stamping Convention this year like in year's past which is also great. I'm teaching 2 days at the ohio convention so I should have all kinds of new stuff to show> hehehe I'm sooooo lucky.

My secret sis rocked my world yesterday! A wonderful package of all kinds of goodies showed up in my mailbox! It was brimming full of stamps, ribbon, a gorgeous tag and some really cool magnets!
The timing was perfect -- I was home from work nursing a cold on top of the elbow I fractured a week earlier. Thank you!
I FORGOT ABOUT THREAD! So here is my late THANK YOU to my sister who has remembered me through each season and has touched my heart in every card. Can't wait to see who it is!!!!
I haven't had a chance to thank my secret sister for the beautiful pink Valentine's card! It arrived right on Feb 14, just as I was leaving for my mini vacation in Texas. Thanks so much, it is so pretty and I love the design of it.....I will be using that design on some future cards!

Thank you to my secret sister for a wonderful surprise I received in the mail. A birthday card which is beautiful and a gift! What a wonderful surprise that was and I just love theflowers and they are my fav color... I am so happy and can't wait to thank my secret sister in person!!
