Default Thank You!!!

Update on my daughter, Maureen, and her Girl Scout Gold Project:

SHE FINISHED HER PROJECT & EARNED HER GOLD AWARD!!!

Thank you so much for the help and donations.

Maureen got very sick in the weeks after Spring Fest and ended up in the hospital for 5 days at the end of May for uncontrolled seizures. Even after she was released, it took her weeks to start to feel better. This was the 5th time she had been in the hospital since December.

Around the middle of July she was well enough to begin working on her project again. She started giving talks about the epilepsy monitoring center at Children's and teaching classes on how to create decorative journals. During the talks and classes, she asked for donations to make activity bags for the patients on the monitoring center.

She collected enough donations to make over 100 activity bags! Her project took her 105 hours to complete!

Thank you, Springfest ladies, for getting her started with your generous donations. She had that to hold on to through the tough times of being sick and wondering if she's ever feel better enough to restart her project. You were all so sweet that it gave her hope that people are willing to help.

Thank you again!

(I can't wait to come to another shoebox swap. Every one so far this fall has conflicted with my son's volleyball schedule. Drats!)

Fond regards,
Molly

thanks for the update Molly, you have good reason to be proud of her, very few girls achieve their Gold and to persevere thru such adversity is admirable. Congrats to both you and Maureen!
