Hey Buffalo gals...are you seriously supposed to get 4 to 8 inches tonight?
DD was in Rochester this weekend to take her last NY state teaching exam...sounds like I should have sent her to XpedX!

We had nothing on the ground in Endicott but by the time I got to work in Ithaca, there was 4 inches - enough to plow and close schools!

I'm writing to you with Tracy's permission. My mom, Molly, attends Springfest and is a member of this board. I'd like to ask you a favor.
This is my 13th year in Girl Scouts and I'm working on my Gold Project. I am making activity kits for the children at the Epilepsy Monitoring Center at Childrens Hospital. One of the things I'm including is altered composition books (marbled notebooks.)
At the Monitoring Center, patients are hooked up to EEGs machines with about 20 leads superglued to their scalps. They are attached 24 hours a day for about 5 days. They can sit in their beds or chaisr or go to the bathroom. It is not fun and I know because Ive had to do it twice because I have epilepsy. I want to make the activity kits so the patients there have something fun and new to them to do.
I know it is late notice, but I'd thought I'd ask if anybody would like to create an altered composition book as a donation to my project. I will be giving them to children 7 years old and older. They dont need to have many layers or embellishments; they can just be colorful and fun to look at. They can be for boys, girls or unisex and for younger kids or older teens and tweens.
I am collecting new/unused things like: puzzle books, playing cards, card games like Uno, small handheld toys like matchbox cars, little dolls, board books and crayons to put in the bags.
If you can create an altered composition book or donate anything Id be grateful.
Thank you for reading all this.
You can PM my mom if you have any questions. I will be there on Saturday if you have questions or donations.

We only had traces of snow left here in the morning but a few area schools had delays or closings. Not mine... :( I could have used the day to work on projects! lol.
Nothing but rain at mom & dad's.....made for some icky driving this afternoon, but it's better than snow! DH said there was about 2 inches here in Owego.

No snow here either (just outside Buffalo). We had some snow earlier today, but nothing stuck. Rain/snow mix is forecast for the overnight and early morning. It's supposed to be 50 by Wednesday so anything that may fall will be gone.
Almost finished with swaps. Can't wait for the weekend. See you all soon!
We have snow on the ground and big heavy puffs of it on the trees. It was windy and blowing snow today, but all is calm in the wee hours of the morning. Plows have been out and likely school will be in. Sounds like there's lots of finishing up happening around here

I finally finished my first shoebox sample before bed last night! Now for all the paper cutting and die cutting for the kits...after I get home from Defensive Driving class tonight.
About two inches of the white stuff here and it is still coming down pretty heavy at the moment, but it is around 32/33 degrees, so shouldn't take too long to melt. About 30 miles north east of here, they had over a foot of snow and police are warning people to stay off the roads. My tulips are not liking this!

Hello Buffalo Gals! I see everyone's busy getting ready for Saturday. Just wanted to throw out the idea that I am going to bring some left-over ATC's to the Jammie-stampin if anyone is interested in trading some. Seems as though I always make too many & am bringing my collection along with (although I don't have near as many as some of you). I just love those ATC's!!
We were released from defensive driving class 40 mins. early because the DVD/video player wasn't working (or the instructor didn't know which buttons to push) so I had more time tonight to work on projects. I just finished putting together all my shoebox kits with extras for jammie stamping. Tomorrow I'll make the rest of the samples and write the directions. Then I'll have to figure out what to pack to wear with this crazy weather! And make sure I have enough $$ for shopping and enough snacks to get through 3 days of intensive stamping/shopping!
IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ladies, I spoke with Sharon, the owner of Buffalo Stamps & Stuff. She is supplying little treat bags for everyone again this year but won't have them ready until Friday night. She asked me to tell you that when you stop in on Friday or Saturday, as a Spring Fest attendee, you will get a 10% discount on your purchase and the treat bag. Be sure to identify yourself as being with Spring Fest 5 and give her a big thanks!!!
Please remember to bring with you your donations of cards, cardfronts, and ATCs for the troops! PLEASE: NO glitter and NO bulky embellishments! TYIA!!!
Recipe cards done & bagged (thanks to retired2stamp AKA Judy for helping...we'll miss her Saturday!). Just need to cut for jammie stampin' and pack. I'm in good shape. And the BEST part is I only have 1 more day to work!!!
SU bagged and packed, NVR bagged and packed, ATC bagged and packed. 3D half done, shoebox photo-type done. I'm in incredible shape. I'm even planning on going to bed early tomorrow night.
I'm NOT EVEN CLOSE.
Tonight I'm giving a brayering class in Morrisville, so my whole night is taken. And leaving here at 7am tomorrow. I may not get to sleep at all for the next 2 nights. I'm still plugging away though.

I'm sure you could find some helper elves on Friday night. I'll wear my little green shoes!! I do remember coloring chocolate chips on very yummy cannolli dip one year!! I can't walk by animal crackers without thinking of you;)

I printed out my shoebox instructions before work this morning so everything is packing and adding any jammie stamping projects. I'm not even sweating it...yet! Now to plow through all that I need to do at work before I leave the office tonight.
only if you drive! hope ina can relax..............
LOL I usually do drive, Gayla. I took tonight off so we can leave whenever. I just have to pack my scrapping bag with my shoebox, projects and tool kit, etc and toss a few clothes in a duffle and I am set to roll!
I am SO fighting not to post sneak peeks of my Oz project here! I am thrilled with how it came out.
