I feel it is too early to call.need some more time. not sure how our (state) numbers will be in a few weeks Allen and I I are doing self quarantine -- had out of state company. mom just celebrated her 87th birthday
I'm not ready to gather with numerous people for the length of time our gatherings take. My dad comes to our house for dinner most days, so we can't take chances with exposure. I completely understand if others want to get together, and do not expect anyone to wait on account of me.
so, we would send all completed swaps, and would we also do our shoebox, complete them and send them too? The plus one for doorprize should just go to you. Doesn't change the number by that much. Am I thinking right?
For the swaps --**place into individual plastic bags for protection
**label with count enclosed + name of swap either written on bag or on paper inside
For the shoeboxes --**provide all parts IN KITS in a large plastic bag
**stamp, emboss, die cut whatever's needed to complete the card
**provide basic directions
**send one completed card to me so I can take photo
If you had someone drop and needed to fill swap spots, let me know. I'm not going out yet but can send. Let me know if you need anything.
Becky, I have had one person say she needs to be out. However, I need to think that through a bit further since everyone has paid and there are goodies involved plus the return postage.
Just trying to help, no problem. what ever works. I would not come to the event, helping just for the swaps. I don't go out very much at all and not to meeting, or any gatherings. OK

How's that?
I'm ok with whatever/however people want to do this. However,(there's always a however isn't there ) I would prefer to send the finished cards for the shoebox swap. If people want to receive kits so they have something fun to do, I understand and I'm happy to go along with whatever is decided.
I'm trying to get another email together and will copy & paste here when it's done.
Shoebox completion will be left to individuals to decide. Make them up fully or just assemble the "completed" parts into kits. If the latter, please include instructions and send one that's made so that I can take a picture.
Receipt date: September 5
In person date for those few who want to gather: September 12
This is the text of the email that I'll be sending a little later this morning.
I have now heard from almost everyone and the consensus is to either mail in or drop off/pick up the shoebox projects and swaps. There was one person who had to drop out, making the counts on all swaps and the shoebox one less. Remember that the recipe swap was dropped previously due to lack of interest.
All of the counts and participants are listed in the thread here on page 1.

OR
Shoebox alternative: make up all the shoeboxes fully and send like that.
Receipt date mailed/dropped off: Saturday, September 5.
In person date for those few who want to gather: September 12. You'll be bringing your swaps and shoeboxes to work on here. I imagine that we'll have time for other stamping, too. Please reconfirm that you'd like to do this.
I will be returning mailed/dropped off materials after September 12. If you opted for the mail in option, I will take care of return postage to you.
NOTE: If I have erred in my counting of the shoeboxes, I will return any extra.
And, the swaps all include YOU. Please DO send that card so that when they're being parceled out, I don't have to stop to think whose swap I have in hand to skip your pile.
I've received a couple of dropped off swaps & shoeboxes. Don't forget that this Saturday is the deadline. Yes, it will be September in just a few days!
