Fabulous day! Thanks so much to Linda & Jean for all their hard work. Thanks to my fellow stampers for sharing their talents. You all rock! Becky, I found the Snoopy chopper stamp on Ebay. Yay!
1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk...
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 small can crushed pineapple, undrained
40-50 vanilla wafers
1 8-oz. carton cool whip, thawed
2 cups sweetened, flaked coconut
12-16 maraschino cherries, rinsed
Whisk together sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice in a small bowl until thoroughly combined. Mix in pineapple with juice and set aside.
Line the bottom of a small glass baking dish (8x8 or 7x10) with vanilla wafers. Pour all of the pineapple mixture over vanilla wafers then add another layer of vanilla wafers on top of pineapple mixture. Spread cool whip evenly on top of vanilla wafers then sprinkle with coconut. Top with cherries then cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours before serving.
Thanks, everyone, for making the day such a success. It wouldn't happen without YOU.
For those who were wondering if I'd be up at my usual early time, I guess the answer is yes...but even earlier since we switched the clocks today. I see a nap looming in the afternoon already.
Someone asked me yesterday (perhaps it was Carol?) about how to emboss the smaller SU! embossing folders like the Designer Frames and I could only say that I'd been cutting smaller layers when using these folders. No one else I asked could come up with any quick answer, either, although we all remembered seeing a method at some point.
So, a bit of Googling this morning found a whole bunch of ideas and here are a few:
Beth, your wreath is on our door and hubby said, "That's really nice!"
Pat, safe travels!
So glad he likes it, Arlene!
Linda and Jean....Thank you so much for another great day!!! And thanks to everyone for such wonderful swaps and shoeboxes. Again, I am amazed at all the creativity out there!
Safe travels, Pat! Hope everything makes the trip in good condition.
About the embossing with no lines: I long ago glued cardboard of the thickness of one cutting plate to the top of my folder, right over the design. No lines and if you want to double emboss you use the negative area of the cut out cardboard with design folder to cover the rest of the area. I thought I gave you a copy of my technique card for that, but it was a technique a couple of years ago with one of our gatherings. Here it is: Double embossing
The kitchen table and counters are clear of stamping stuff! The living room, however, is another matter! Hubby said a client is coming over this afternoon to see about buying the Honda and asked that I clear off the table.
It seems that we either need four new tires for the Toyota before the snow flies or we need to buy a new car. Looks like car shopping is in the plans for this week.
The stamp set is called Evergreen and I did see it on the SU! website. That was another well done project! Love that song as it reminds me of my mother's nativity set that played Silent Night.
Questions about the snoopy stamp. The stamp I used was from Stampabilities and they are on line. When I checked out their web site, I didn't see any of the 3 I have with vehicles. I have a snoopy with a motorcycle, one with him and a bi-plane, and one with him in a old car. I love those stamps and use them often. I colored the image really good, then color copied it several times, then re-colored the red and yellow to make them pop. I'm glad everyone liked it.
