30" where I live in Connecticut! Crazy! Roads are barely passable.
A silly friend from Westchester thought it was a good idea to try to go skiing on Saturday by driving through CT. She never made it. And she said the roads were even worse once they left the stand-still highway and tried to turn around on side roads.
I have to say I was hoping for a couple feet here, just 'cause this was a possibility and I've never been in such a snowfall. But no luck. We are already losing our snow again. There were bare spots at the golf course yesterday where snow had blown off the hills. :(
Missy wants to go sledding, but she was recovering from her 12 hour flu on Sat, busy with birthday parties on Sun, and now the snow is getting ruined with rain. Poor kid can't catch a break with this snow. She cries every time it starts melting away (also immediately).

Had a dream last night that Nancy learned how to drive a school bus so she could chauffeur all the stamping ladies around.

How did everyone do with the snow? Tina? Matthew? The LIE looks ridiculous on the news.
We got 12" in Poughkeepsie.
My car got plowed in ... snow packed all around and beneath it (even in the exhaust pipe). I spent 43 hours at the 24-hour store (worked only about 17 of them and slept maybe 7). I felt like I was in an unplanned and undocumented sleep-deprivation study.
Roads were closed and littered with abandoned cars. It took until most of the snow melted off my car on Sunday morning to be able to dig out (a manager did it for me). Took 90 minutes and surviving too many moronic drivers to get home (one drove around me when I stopped for an oncoming fire truck!). Ate breakfast, hugged my pillows and cuddled under my blankets and slept, ate dinner, slept more. On Monday I had to stay in the L/R so my FIL wouldn't leave the house (he tried ... had his coat on and car keys ready) until it was time to get ready for work (3-10pm). This time I made it home in a more typical 30 minutes.
Trying to catch up on all the things I wanted/needed to do on my "off" weekend. First I took my FIL to meet Tony for lunch before he goes stir-crazy (he actually thought he could drive yesterday when I thought I'd barely make it on some sections with my AWD vehicle.) He'll go out tomorrow but the roads were much better today and should be even better tomoorw unless the snow comes early. I have laundry going down in the basement and am getting caught up with emails and threads I follow.
Tomorrow I have to do errands (including grocery shopping; the freezer at my job broke - vents got blocked with snow/ice so I couldn't pick up a few essentials last night).
Hoping this weekend is more productive (I was 'off" Super Bowl weekend but worked that Sunday, stuck this past weekend so I hope to truly have a "me" weekend this time).
Stay safe and warm and hope you have a chance for ...
Wow, Tina, that's an adventure you won't soon forget! We hadn't heard from you... I was wondering if I had to go check snow banks!

Wow, Tina, that's an adventure you won't soon forget! We hadn't heard from you... I was wondering if I had to go check snow banks!
We plan to get tablets but haven't decided on model(s) yet plus had to wait a bit since we just gave my FIL a party for his 90th birthday (why did I ever tell him he's gonna live to be 102 :twisted It was a great party and he was surprised by the guests he didn't know would be there (we only told him his kids and grandkids were all coming to a nice restaurant).
So, I didn't have Internet access and my (old model) cell phone had about 2/3 power and the cord was at home (for Tony who usually waits until there's almost no power to charge his ... somewhere along the way the 2nd charger disappeared) so I kept it off most of the time so I couldn't even play a game or two. The store (and coworkers) didn't have a compatible charger). I also didn't have anything to read (I'd have had to pay for anything and I already spent enough on a spare shovel, waterproof mittens and food) so I just tried to stay out of sight of the customers (many walked to the store for pain meds for loved ones that slipped on ice or for meds so they could breathe).
The next time it snows (or we expect some) and I have to work I am parking as close to the handicapped spots as possible as they are unlikely to be plowed in and are usually cleared/kept clear.
Anyone want to be in charge of paper products? Plates, forks, napkins? Or I can switch with someone (water + ice/cooler) and I'll take paper products.

Clarification question on shoebox card and the two layer minimum - I'm a CAS designer, so my cards tend to mostly consist of the card base and one layer on top of the base. Does that count as two layers or are you looking for one more layer on top of that? And advice or examples of what you are looking for in a shoebox card would be helpful so I don't go down the wrong path in designing my card would be appreciated. I have limited time over the next month and I'm very nervous now. LOL

I'm sure your CAS design would be perfect. The card base counts as a layer, so you are good to go!!

I just went through your gallery.... any one of those cards would be perfect for a shoebox project. You do beautiful work!

(1) Are there any + ones (i.e. for hostess and/or door prize) that will need to be made? If so, how many?
(2) Is it the traditional 4.25 x 5.50 size or slightly smaller to make it easier to make into a full card? If smaller, please provide the dimensions.
Thanks!
I'm trying to figure out what I need and to place my order asap (I have stuff to get started but not enough to finish unless I make absolutely no smudges or other oopsies so, darn it, I have to get more stuff!)
Hi Tina, There are no +1's for door prizes this time. A card front would be a traditional size or, if you would like to leave it ready to mount on a card base, then either 4 x 5-1/4 or 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 would be fine, depending on your design preference for matting.

Thanks Heidi. I will make the traditional size (I thought I read on a thread for a different gathering that they were to be slightly smaller so I wanted to check.)
Also, I might have 1-2 doorprizes. I'll send a PM once I've confirmed I have them.
Thank you, Ladies. Door prize donations are very welcome! Got a duplicate item or something you just haven't cracked open? Bring it along to find a new, happy home. I'll update with how many we have next week.

We usually make a check-off list of shoebox projects. When you know a title for your project, send it along to me.

I have to opt out of this swap. My idea is not coming together and my hours have been increased (temporarily) at work so there won't be time to come up with a fix or new idea - esp. since I don't have my shoebox worked out yet either.
Sorry for any inconvenience and I trust everyone understands.
Can hardly wait to see everyone and to admire all the swaps!

We've had a couple ppl on the list who can't make it... FYI. That will make things a little easier for designing your shoebox projects.
Registration closes at noon tomorrow. Give me a day or two to get all the numbers finalized. I'll try to post final numbers by Sunday.
