If you are going to bring a snack, please let Kristina know. Thanks!
Oh, Joan, we had a spot on the registration forms where people could check if they were planning on bringing a snack. I'll count them up and give you some numbers.

[QUOTE=kristransue]Theresa, I got your registration in the mail, I forget if I told you that or not.
As far as snacks,...(M and Ms are encouraged, since we all know they melt in your mouth and not in your hand)[QUOTE]
Well, that's easy enough! Put me down for M & M's then.
I want to let you all know that I won't have access to a computer from Sunday night until Friday morning. I'm leaving for the beach with my daughter, my mom, my aunt, my cousin, my other cousin and her 3 daughters (we're leaving the husbands at home). I'll check this thread and pm's as soon as I get home.
I have gotten a couple of PMs asking similar questions, so here are some answers:
21 people (including yourself) is the final count, so prepare a swap for 20 cards.
Snack Food: If you indicated on your registration form that you will bring a snack food thanks! We are looking for finger type food that you want to bring . . .anything from finger sandwiches to chex mix . . . .make something cute or pick up something at the grocery store, whatever you want. I think I am going to bring some form of candy . . . since I usually snack on candy while stamping . . .
Door Prize: If you indicated that you would like to bring a door prize thanks again. As far as what would make a good door prize, again, that is up to you. If you want to put together an assortment of embellishments SU or otherwise, if you want to make a cute gift set or card set, if you want to donate a new cricut (had to try), put together an assortment of cardstock, bring an unmounted stamp set that you just never got around to using and is feeling unloved . . . scented lotions, box of godiva chocolate (pick me, pick me!) whatever is just a nice little prize you would be happy to take home yourself.
I hope that helps. The point of the day is just to get together, have fun and stamp. Door prizes will just be a way of bringing home something to remember the day (besides your 20 cards). Can't wait to meet you all!
Kristina

Just wanted to let you know I am still here. I have not had time to get online these past few weeks. I am so looking forward to meeting you all. I am also looking forward to getting away from this crazy hectic chaotic life of mine........even if only for a day. Is anyone else swamped ? I thought Summer was supposed to be relaxing and carefree. I can't even remember the last carefree Summer I have had.
I have a great swap idea swimming around in my head. Quick and simple. I have to keep reminding myself.......It's not a contest, it's not a contest, it's not a contest.....there are no judges, there are no judges, there are no judges........relax and have fun, relax and have fun, relax and have fun........

Swamped??? YES!! I've had my card idea for a couple weeks and STILL haven't cut stuff out! :???: I decided I need to do things in the order they are coming up so teacher and bus drivers are coming before that now... (although I sidetracked tonight to a color challenge with my bucket I just got today!!!). I'm headed back upstairs to work on DS's teacher gift, and maybe the bus driver's, and maybe the Inspiration Challenge... I've had caffeine...who needs sleep?!?
I'm really excited about the swap and can't wait to meet everybody!!!
No pressure. No contest. No looking down on anyone's stuff. We are just stampers having fun. If you have a door prize to bring, that would be great. If not, come anyway! I already have a few. I think we'll give everyone a number when you enter and then pick numbers out of an empty SU stamp box! We have used some of your registration money to buy some door prizes, but the rest will be used for drinks and pizza and paper plates, etc.
It is now 6:30 am and I am coming up with a sample card this morning or else!!

I've had my idea for a week or two now and am part way through the prep work, but I kept getting interrupted for tons of reasons (who needs to sleep or eat anyway?!). Then there is the grad party tonight and I'm here looking to case a card, lol...see you all in a week!
The good thing about having this at my house is that I just spent 3 hours cleaning!! There is now room in our extra bedroom for 2 folks to stamp! (You could barely open the door before).
I think we are going to have a blast. We may be spread out and a bit crowded (does that make any sense??), but the main point is to have fun. If you have offered to bring TV tables, bring them, but leave them in the car. I'm not sure if we will need them, but it will be nice to have them as back up.
Do I have a card yet???? NO

It sounds like you've been too busy cleaning your house :p And yes, crowded and spread out makes sense to me in this situation. I'm making progress here. The grad party is over and I'm working up my sheet of instructions, even took a couple of digital pictures 'in progress,' not that anyone will need them - it should be pretty simple to do.
I hope to have mine done tonight. I was going to do it yesterday, but decided to get a cold or sinus infection instead. So I spent 3 hours at the urgent care dr yesterday for then to tell me you really can't take anything, since we don't know if it is an infection or not. Yippie. So anyway if I can stay awake long enough today (only got up an hour ago) I will get mine done tonight. I already have my design. See everyone on Saturday.

We unfortunately will not get to meet Restongal, she just PMd me and said something came up out of town and that she and her friend will not be making it. I did have two last people on the waiting list, and I offered the spots to them. If they do not want to come I think we will just reduce it to 19 in the interest of space at Joan's house. I would still prepare for 21 slots, we can always make the extra cards and donate them to one of the "card charities" that SCS gals participate in.

My card is done. What a relief. Now I'm cutting the paper for everyone else's cards. I have a box of door prizes waiting to be won. I'm sorry that Restongal and her buddy can't make it, but we are a go regardless!!

This is going to be quite a stamping weekend - I 'm really looking forward to meeting all of you and doing your wonderful cards and on Sunday I'm going to a Stampin Up workshop! Gee, I guess I won't have any time for housecleaning!
I heard from our two wait list people, they made other plans when they found out they were on the wait list . . . so the official count will be 19. So if you haven't done your card yet (like me) feel free to make only 19, however it may be a good idea for you to have some extras, just in case some of us are a little too giddy on M&Ms and totally mess up!

I was going to use that set! Oh well, I guess I still will since I finally saw a good idea in the gallery and want to do something like it. If we have identical cards we'll just chalk it up to good taste!

Hi Guys
I am so sorry I will not get a chance to meet all of you but I am so there the next time. Please make sure to post all you cards online here at SCS so I can feel even worse that I couldn't go. ;) LOL
Here's to next time...
Joan, bless your heart for having this at your house! You're wonderful! I'm so excited! I have my card made, all my "pieces and parts" in a box, and I bought the makings for the snack that I am bringing. Have you posted the new directions yet? Can you tell I can't wait? LOL :-D
I believe Kristina is going to pm the directions to you. I don't want to post them here. Is my card done? well, one is! But, my stamping room is a disaster zone so I have to clean it again -- and then finish cutting, etc. I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you.

Yes, beware of the M&Ms - I have two 3# bags, bwahahaha. We can open one at a time and see how we do, lol. I have my card, my directions sheet, and even have some of my cardstock cut. I'm getting impatient for Saturday!!!

We must have the same thing!! Not fun, is it?!?!:(
I've had my card idea for several weeks and finally got some of the pieces cut this past weekend. Just gotta finish it up, type up the directions and do a door prize. The teacher presents and bus driver present are done and I have to work on a lesson for my little church girls for tomorrow night (and it's 10:30 pm now!!). But after tomorrow night I'm full-force for Saturday!! Can't wait!! (Yikes...Father's Day is Sunday, ain't it?!?!)
I'm having a very stressful week. You guys have NO idea how anxious I am to meet all of you. Are my pieces cut yet? NO. Is the stamping room cleaned up? NO. However, all will be ready when you get here. If anyone has a card table or those tv tables, please bring it just in case! Leave it in the car and we'll use them only if necessary. We may need more table space. Kristina is bringing a 5 foot table, and I've got my kitchen and dining room table, my stamping table, and 2 desks and a card table!!
The operative word for Saturday is FUN.

Joan, don't worry, if we don't have enough stamp space some of us will just have to rotate through the snack station . . . .mandatory stamp break and socialization time.
I second the stressful week. Last night I finally did a card I was proud of, I was planning on getting the cardstock cut tonight. Well as I was doing some cleaning the morning my preschoolers were in my stamp room and my dear precious son tore it up in pieces.
Fortunately I have a good memory.
So I will be done by Saturday, but there is nothing like the last minute to motivate me!

I finally redid my card (kids destroyed it yesterday) and cut my cardstock this morning. I wrote out the instructions (our printer is out of ink, go figure!) and I got my goodies to bring at the grocery store (does anyone remember circus peanuts? I saw them and had to get them) I am going to be bringing the big table from my stamp room, and the blank name tags that we will be writing our names on.
When I went to the Texas gathering we had a nifty rotation schedule, but seeing that the space is going to be more diversified I think we will have a stamp at your own pace event. I would just encourage everyone to speak to everyone at least once during the event. I have only met one person who is coming, but am so interested to talk to everyone. If you are shy, find me, I'm NOT! I will get you hooked up with some talkers.
I will be refunding everyone five dollars, since we didn't book the hall we saved 100 dollars, that will be coming back to you. Being military I don't have a local bank where I can exchange cash for a bunch of 5 dollar bills so I will refund in a check to you when you first sign in. Don't leave without getting your check from me. I will mail out any other refunds and such on Monday. (From the people who had to cancel).
If you have any last minute questions, PM me or call Joan (her number was in the PM I sent out I believe), can't wait to see you all there.

I will be by mornin'!! So many things have come up this week to keep me from getting my stuff done but tonight I'm home alone so WOO HOO...here I go! Just over 12 hours and my gang and I will be on the road!!
It sounds like we have all had a busy week! I think we will all have a great time as we pretend our lives consist only of stamping, stamping friends, and food!

Yeah, it is midnight and I am finally finished. That's what I get for deciding that I did not like my original design and starting over tonight.
Well I am off to bed. See you all in just over 10 hours.

Ladies, each of you, please pm me. I LOVED having you at my house today. It wasn't just the fabulous stamping. It was the fun, the camraderie. It gave me an island away from the stress of the past month and I owe each of you a debt of gratitude. Awesome cards!! Awesome food! I am so embarrassed that I kept saying I wanted that awesome framed stamped picture. I had no idea that we would be picking out the door prizes we wanted and was clueless until later that you all waited and let me take that gift. What a dork I am!!
And a HUGE thanks to Kristina who handled all the $$ and registrations. Lots of work.
Please pm me with your name and address. I want to know who you are so we can stay in touch!! Thanks a bunch.
