So did anybody else make it out to the Scrapbook Yardsale in Prince William County. All I can say is WOW!!!! I bought 4 stamp sets, some prima flowers and stickers. Could have bought more, but I stopped myself before I got out of control. But I got some great deals.

Yes, yes, yes! I went with my friend and we had a great time. We got some really GREAT deals too! I loved that booth right in the center when you walked through the side door. That was our first stop and we cleaned up! It was the booth with the spinner thing. I got some verticle storage for $1 each. I thought the ladies on the side selling all the stampin' UP stamps were horribly overpriced. I didn't buy any stamps, just lots of accessories. We got there when the doors opened! Was great!

OK- so my card is designed using two of the retiring sets, anyone have any issues? If so, I can redesign. I have the concept down, just need to figure out the stamp sets. speak now or forever hold your peace!

I was wondering the same thing! I was using Mixed Bouquet... I *LOVE* that set and I'm gonna miss it SO much. (Well I'll still use it for personal cards but I hate that I can't demo it...)

You guys are killing me. I REALLY wish I could have gone, but in all honesty, I think my wallet is glad that I couldn't go. Convention seems to be sneaking up on me and I'm trying to be in a saving mode so I can spend, spend, spend while I'm there, AND then spend some more after I see all the cool stuff there.

Well, the sets aren't retired YET, so in my opinion, I say go for it. We can all still get the idea and maybe swap sets if we CASE it for something. What does anyone else think?
I don't mind retired (or retiring) stamps being used for the swap. I'm impressed some people have already designed their card! I think I better start working on mine...

Vera
LOL! It is *very* unusual for me to have mine planned already!
Hi there Ladies, I'm going to post 'official' number information later this afternoon (I'm waiting for today's mail to come to see if I get any of the missing registrations) but at this point, I don't have registration forms from Tami M, Ronie and Kim P. I've e-mailed them and got some positive responses so thats why I'm waiting for today's mail. Krista C is going to back out due to a family event. I'll fix that in post #1.
I forgot to mention earlier that unfortunately, Karen (imastampin) has to drop out of the swap. Her mother passed away unexpectedly and she is out of state dealing with issues regarding this. Please keep her in your prayers.
I don't mind retiring sets being used. I'm using Office Accoutrement, which may or may not be retired. Also, since I think most of my inventory is being retired, I don't have a lot of choice!

Unfortunately, I lost 69 sets and 11 wheels. Ouch!
Holy-schmoley! I only lost 1 wheel. I didn't count my all the hostess sets that I lost though and all the mini sets that won't make the catalog that I have.

Did that wipe out your inventory??
Not quite, although it really depleted my shelves. It'll be hard to demo for a bit, but I'll be ok - not too worried about it.
Hi there ladies, Thank you for being so patient on the final numbers. I'm sorry it took so long but I was waiting to hear back from a few people. Unfortunatly I haven't heard from some, and I have to go ahead and finalize the numbers so here is what we have to work with. I have registration forms and payment from the following people, so our final list is below. I have noted SCS names if I have them, who is participating in the 3d swap and who is bringing door prizes as well.
1. Rose-Ellen E (CardLuver)- 3D Swap; bringing door prize
2. Anna H (princessannabanana)- 3D Swap; bringing door prize
3. Joan H
4. Janna U -
5. Lori T - (ltecler) 3D Swap; bringing 2 door prizes
6. Vera S - (vera)
7. Chris M - (clmcdm1996) 3D Swap; bringing door prize
8. Ann M - (girlscout) 3D Swap
9. Michele Z - (mzaiderman) 3D Swap
10. Clara O - (YouInkIt)
11. Jen L -
12. Consuelo H - (bheyman)
13. Patricia C - (Clarke827) 3D Swap
14. Chelsea A - (Rize0826)
15. Terri A (teastamper) - 3D Swap; bringing door prize
16. Sherri (sherristampsalot) - 3D Swap; bringing door prize
17. Stacy S (pnindazz) - 3D Swap
18. Melanie (stampin4u) - 3D Swap
19. Shelli (mommy2ellie)
20. Julia S (julia_s) 3D Swap
So, that makes 20 participants. Please bring a sample card, directions, and enough supplies for 20 cards. 19 people will make your cards and there will be supplies for 1 'whoopsie'.
We have 12 people participating in the 3d swap, so unless I'm mistaken that means whoever is participating needs to bring 11 swap items (cause you don't need your own swap item back, right?).
We have 7 door prizes at this point. If you'd like to bring one also, just bring it with you on swap day and we can add it to the goodie table.
We will provide some light breakfast snacks (probably mini-bagels, cream cheese/butter, and OJ), and a pizza lunch with water, diet and regular coke.
Don't forget to bring your adhesive and scissors to keep with you for your own use.
It's always a good idea to label your items so they stay with the card, and so they go home with you as well.
Feel free to bring a label for the back of the cards (with your name, e-mail or phone# and even recipie) if you'd like, but don't adhere it to the card stock. Let each stamper choose if they want to attach it.
You might want to bring a camera to document how much fun were going to have!!
Feel free to bring your garage sale items (retired or 'about to be retired' items only please) for trade or sale with other attendees, but if youre a demo, please, no selling current items at this event. You are welcome to have business cards handy if someone wants one, but this is a stamping event, not a selling event. Feel free to bring your own catalog for reference though.
Well provide brown lunch bags for you to put your shoebox cards in at the end of the day.
We plan on being there to set up by about 8:30am so feel free to come anytime after that for a quick meet and greet. Stamping will begin at 9 and go until 3.
Feel free to PM me and I'll give you my cell number so you can call me if you get lost on the way to the fire station, or for any last minute details.
Let me know if you have any questions or if I left anythign out. I can't believe its only about 8 days away. I can't wait to meet all of you!

Woo Hoo! Only a week and a day away!!!
I lost 64 sets in the retirement---LOTS of my favorites. Trying not to stress too much...hopefully that just means there will be a lot of FABULOUS stuff in the new catty! ;)
I second that! You have worked your bootie off for this event. Thanks!!
Thanks Ladies, That really means a lot to me. I hope it gets pulled off well and that everyone has a relaxing day of stamping. I'll sleep well next Satruday night.
Yeah, I thought some of the SU booth sets were priced a little high, I did buy two sets though. There was another booth I found, that had great prices. I got two sets from there.
Well I am going to design my card this weekend. I have lots of ideas going through my mind.
I can't believe how many sets are retiring. Some of my favorites are leaving.

Rose-Ellen: Thanks for all your hard work on this! I''m glad you reminded me that I signed up for a 3-D. I couldn't remember. See you all next week!
Yes, Thank you. I'm really looking forward to Saturday. I know my card will be a basic one but I'm looking forward to seeing all the great ideas everyone has. Thank you for all your hard work getting this together. See you Saturday.
I created my card last night....was all excited about it and then realized I used the 12x12 paper from the winter mini (the xoxo paper, browns, pinks and turquoises) is that going to be a problem for anyone? I can redo the design if anyone objects.

That sounds like a lovely design, Patricia. I certainly have no objections at all!

Hi! I am looking forward to this Saturday! I checked directions on Mapquest, and after taking Route 7 West from the Beltway, Mapquest is telling me to make a left onto Gallows Road, and then says I should make a U-turn at Wolftrap Road to stay onto Gallows Road. I can follow Mapquest, but thought I'd see other directions possibilities from the Beltway! Thanks!
