NEPA Stamp & Swap, Towanda/Wysox PA - Merry & Bright - November 11, 2023
NEPA Stamp & Swap "Merry & Bright" Saturday, November 11, 2023
9:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wysox Presbyterian Church
22953 RT 187, Wysox, PA 18854
CLOSED AND CREATING!
You're invited to the 8th NEPA Stamp & Swap, a day of stamping, friendship & fun! There's a lot planned & a few new things so please read everything below & if you still have questions, don’t be afraid to ask.
THEME: "Merry & Bright" . It's NOT mandatory to use the theme.
COST: $25.00 includes the venue & a gift bag. All funds will be spent on the event.
REGISTRATION: Registration & payment option are on the attached form. You will be added to list once payment is received. There are no refunds once the event is closed but you may offer your spot to someone. Attendees limited to 25. If all spots are filled before the deadline, we may close it early to finalize numbers & start creating. There will also be a wait list if necessary.
COMMUNICATION: On Splitcoaststampers, go to "Forum" then "Get it Together". This will be the main way of communicating including the final numbers & information for the event. Please subscribe, check-in often & chat!
ARRIVAL TIME: Doors open at 8:45. We will begin our lightening round introductions at 9:45 to start stamping by 10:00.
MANDATORY SHOEBOX PROJECT GUIDELINES:
A full card with QUALITY cardstock (CS) layers & embellishment(s) or a simple 3D item.
Projects should take NO MORE THAN 5-10 minutes to complete. Please keep it simple (sometimes less is more). Timing yourself while making your shoebox may be helpful.
Bring all the supplies to complete your project including any special adhesive & tools.
Making kits are encouraged & very helpful. Supplying envelopes or sleeves are optional.
You need to pre-cut & score the cardstock.
To reduce the time of your project, you can punch, die cut or emboss but DO NOT pre-stamp.
Please bring a few extra parts to fix any "oopies".
Projects will be set out in the morning. YOU will move, YOUR PROJECT will not.
Post clear directions by your project unless it’s very obvious what to do. Include your name.
During introductions, you will VERY, VERY BREIFLY explain reminders or anything NOT in your directions. If your project needs directions but you are unable to print or handwrite them, please contact Lou Ann.
You will need to bring THREE completed shoebox projects; one is a sample for your project at your table, one is placed on the display board for the hostess & one is for our church sponsor, Deb King, who is not a stamper.
Please DO NOT sit at a shoebox project if you are not working on it. There are empty tables available & sitting at a project may prevent someone from getting that project completed.
Your project supplies must stay at the event until the end. If you have to leave make arrangements for someone to pick it up.
When you know what your shoebox project is, please post a name for it on SCS or send me a PM.
Tips:
Consider doing the part(s) of a project that have to be done at the event (stamping, embossing & die cutting), take a photo of the sample then assemble later during the event or at home.
Towards the end of the event, if you’re done consider offering to help those who are behind
When briefly leaving a project, it may be helpful to leave something on the table to indicate it’s in use.

Wrap it up pretty so it’ll be a surprise until we’re done swapping.
EMBOSSING AREA: We will have areas set up with a heat tool & 2 Big Shots for embossing & die cutting so no need to bring your own. You will need to bring the embossing powders for your project with a tray/paper plate, etc. or embossing folders/dies for your project.

There is a limited amount of room so please only bring 1 tote. There will be chairs to set your tote on. Make sure you label your items and tote with your name so buyers know who to pay. Payment arrangements are between you & the buyer(s). We are not responsible for missing items so bring at your own risk. There is no fee to sell or trade at this event.

Label your personal stamping tools which you may use including scissors, bone folder, paper cutter/scorer, scissors, straightedge, etc.

A2 Card Sketch PLUS A2 Card Front (see attached example)
This swap has 2 parts:
Create your own card sketch (4 ¼ X 5 ½) or copy & paste one from online (see links below for ideas). The sketch needs to include measurements. Print one for each person in the swap. (To print the sketch, it’s suggested you put 4 on a page in WORD then print on cardstock. If you need assistance, Diane or I can help put your sketch into a Word document & send it back to you for printing). If your printer doesn’t take cardstock, then print your sketch onto a piece of copy paper and attach that to cardstock.
Make an A2 card front using the sketch for everyone in the swap.So you will swap an A2 card sketch & an A2 completed cardfront.
Mini Slimline NVR Variety Card - Full card; Birthday, Sympathy, Get Well or Thinking
For this swap, the mini slimline card must fit into a #6 3/4 envelope (standard mailing envelope) so no larger than 3 1/4" x 6 1/4" . You will choose the card's theme then make them all the same. You will receive a variety of cards in return.
Hi ladies, our event is FULL!! It's so exciting to have so much interest in our event!!
We will also move the deadline date, so if you haven't selected your swap(s) & sent your form, please do so soon. I'll figure out the new deadline date in a day or two. Food selection can wait until closer to the event.
I'll start a waiting list, so if you know of anyone who is interested, they can send me their info, but DO NOT send the registration fee.
Since we are full, the new deadline will be June 15th (a week from Thursday). Please have your forms with swap selection to me by then. I'm not worried about food right now.
Once you've submitted your swaps, please make sure I have them listed correctly. Remember once the deadline has passed, you can's change your swaps so now is the time to add or delete your selections. Also your money is non-refundable but you may offer your seat to someone else.
Also, please review the Post #1 with all the "rules"...this is especially important if you haven't attended before.
So we'll be able to create over the summer!! I can't wait to get started!!
I'm changing it now. I opened it on my phone & the yes moved over top of the boxes. I thought you were being ambitious this year...LOL! Thanks so much on checking!!

Crafty Al has some great card sketches. Has anyone ever done her sheet load of cards? That’s my starting point for the card sketch swap.
I've never heard of her but I'll have to check it out! I've been scrapping & I have 6 more pages to do before the end of June, then I'll get serious on my event projects. Of course Diane & I have started working on something special for everyone at the event!! We think everyone's going to love it!
I think crafty Al is a good starting point. I like how she posts the way to cut your paper to get the most cards. She also has a place on her pdfs that shows the dimensions if you only want to do one card. I have a problem with patterned paper 😉 . I have a ton of it. So I like to use her sketches. Makes me use up my paper stash.
hope everyone has a great 4th of July. 🎆 🇺🇸 🌭
I’m excited to see what Lou Ann and Diane are working on.
