I am happy to be hosting a Shoebox Swap on Saturday, July 25th!
Time: 10:00 a.m. until whenever you are ready to leave
Location: Apostolic Church of Barberton, 1717 W Turkeyfoot Lk Rd, Barberton, Oh, 44203
Food: Potluck
Our church is 10 minutes from the Wooster Rd Exit of I-76 and 15 minutes from the Arlington Rd Exit of I-77.
If you would like to attend, please comment below. If you know now what you would like to bring for the potluck, please add that as well. If not, we'll narrow that down as the date gets closer.
Thank you to MommaPatti for providing these guidelines for our last swap! I think they will be helpful to anyone who has not attended before, or would like a refresher.
Personally, I am looking for a day of fun I have no problem with opening this to non-demos and/or non-SU! stamp sets. However, I would like to reiterate the information below and state that good quality products and work is appreciated by everyone attending. I think it would be easy enough to make any layout available and not stamp it with the image provided and sub in your own image when you get home, if you'd prefer to keep with SU! sets.
Shoe box Swap
Design a full card or 3-D item, and make a sample.
Project must take only 10 minutes to complete - 15 minutes TOPS!
Put together a list of instructions to make it.
Precut enough supplies to make your item for each person and place materials in a baggie. (If there are 20 people make 20 baggies of supplies). Include the directions in each baggie, just in case there isnt enough time for a person to make your item at the actual swap meet. Baggies should include pre-cut cardstock and embellishments.
Place the rest of your items (stamps, ink, punches, markers, WWC, pencils, etc.) and the baggies into a shoe box. All individual items in your shoebox should be labeled with your name.
When the shoebox swap starts, each person will set up their items at a station and then everybody rotates around the room and makes each project. You can go at your own pace that way.
Please bring your own adhesive, scissors and bone folder. If your card requires special adhesive such as glue dots, please include that in your shoebox.
What to Bring
Bring enough supplies for each participant plus two extra sets to be used for parts when people mess up.
You may also want to bring your camera. Just in case you dont have enough time to make all of the projects, you can snap a picture of the sample so you may complete it at home. Youll also want to take pictures of all of your SCS sistahs!
Your address book so you can add all your new friends names, phone numbers, and email addresses!
Bring your own adhesive, scissors and bone folder. Label these since they will be moving around.
A snack/beverage to share with your sistahs
Other Important Tips
This is for adults only, so please register only if youre 18 or older. Please make other arrangements for children.
Feel free to bring your Garage Sale" items for trade (or sale, if it is a retired item) with other attendees.
Make sure to bring enough for each person to make your item. We will have a final count a week or so before the event.
Bring everything needed for the card; stamps, ink, embellishments, hole punches, cutting tools, scrub & mist...etc. Label everything with your name! Each person should bring your own basic adhesive to carry with you.
It goes without saying (or this case saying), please bring your best work.
(thanks to stampinguru from the Central Florida Shoebox Swap II, since I cased her instructions!!)

Seems a little THIN here, huh!! (With Anita's approval), I'm going to do a posting on my blog and link here to see if we can get a little more attention. You get more attention than I do ... maybe you can do a posting also. What do you think???
Just came across this thread, I am in Ohio, south of Canton, I dont really understand what this is all about, are you asking for SU people only?
In addition to Tammy's reply, check out the first post and you'll find all the deets

Sorry for the disappearance over the past two days - I've had minimal access to SCS and have no idea why. It started with not being able to do searches and then IE saying the site wasn't available. I'm assuming it's on this side since I had no problems getting to any other sites.
I've had a few people ask when the cut-off date is. Let's make it Sunday, July 19th, unless anyone has any major objections. That will give those of *us* who plan ahead the full week to get everything cut out ;)

This will give us an opportunity to have a final number and the week to do all of our cutting. (For those of us who don't wait until the night before! ;))

Checking my calender... but it's looking a bit full right now. But I haven't given up hope! I will get back to you before the deadline. Hope I can be there!

Dar sent me here. I'd LOVE to join . . . but I don't think I'll be in town that weekend. :(:(:( My dh is facing some pretty serious surgery (leg amputation) and wants to take one more trip before the surgery down to NC to see my family. We're thinking that will be the weekend. Shoot! I love meeting new people! Keep me in mind if you do another get together!

Count me in. My husband and I are on vacation that week to do some clean up around the house. I'm sure by Saturday, I will need a day out with the girls. Now to come up with a card idea and a snack. Thanks for the invite Darlene.

Anita ... I do believe Kris Turner is coming also!!
Are you going to ask what "foods" people are bringing so we don't end up with 10 bags of chips & 10 containers of dip???? Just a thought ... really doesn't matter I guess ... what will be, will be. Although you might starve while the rest of us get "chunkier".
Glad to be able to help ... I'm trying to think if I've left anyone out that I stamp with over on this end. I mentioned it to my daughter-granddaughter but Saturday is a RACING day for them. I'll check with Lana again ... I know she mentioned to a few other ladies up her way (Wadsworth) that she gets together with ... and let you know. I mentioned it to Sandy ... she's unsure due to her son moving that weekend ... I'll ask again.
Food - I was going to wait until we have a final list next Sunday to start the food list, but if anyone knows now what you'd like to bring, go ahead and list it and I'll start adding it.
Connie
Patti
Michellesscrap (assuming Michelle is your first name?)
Julie
Jill & daughter

Well, good news (for me!)!! We aren't going to go to NC that weekend--we're going to wait a week so that my husband's son can go with us to see my Mom and Grandma. So, I can come!!!!
Now . . . I'm not very experienced and I'm a shoebox swap virgin so have pity on me! LOL (You have NO idea how nervouse joining this makes me!)
Now, what to bring for food . . . how about a pasta salad?
