I see a lot of familar names and that is wonderful!!!! We will have so much fun. You gals always do such a great job!!
Have been very busy all week. Our son and his family have been visiting. We've had such a good time. Made maple syrup, cut up some wood for next winter (hope we don't need it this season yet), and have had lots of laughs. Next week, the other two grandkids come.
life is good.

Greetings all. Just a quick and gentle reminder to those who haven't sent in the registration yet..please do so as soon as you are able. We are getting close to the time when we want to let people know how many cards and shoebox set-ups they will need to make. It would be great to have all of that info to send out to our stampers!! (Check it out 29 registered and possibly more...Yipee..should be fun. ) Have a good week. I am opening windows and letting in the sunshine before the promised weather cool down tomorrow!! Sunny day in the UP..what could be better! Helen
Hello all! Just back from a long weekend out of the UP (gasp). Actually only as far as Mackinaw City. It was fun times with family and now I am rolling around ideas in my head for the swaps. Some of it has almost been figured out..I am really looking forward to July and happy to see the letters coming in. We have some details to work out and will be sending out more information soon. So put those thinking caps on! Have a good week. Helen
Welcome Frances! I received both your email and message on the thread. So you are doing something right! I will send further info in a few weeks. To the rest of the group (Superior Stampers one and all) check out Post 3..lots of friends from last year. Have a good day, everyone, Helen
Can't believe we aren't full yet...how about putting up some posters in the local areas? Would that be ok with you "Baraga Biddies?" I can put them up in the Mqt,Negaunee/Ishpeming areas. It won't be "fancy" but at least it'll get the word out! Also....am going to Sayner for the Stampeede next weekend and I can see if I can put something up there if that's ok with you. Let me know asap and I will get moving on it!
Helen, I'll start working on it tomorrow and hope to have posters up locally by early next week. What shall I do for contact info? If they are not familiar with SCS it would be too much to explain how to get to the site....so should I use my local number for more info and also put ????yours????who??? I'll try to get started tomorrow and see what I come up with for the flyer,ok? Let me know what you think about contact info tho, please. Get any snow there today? Sat out on my deck reading yesterday and today woke up to a light coating of the white stuff...only in da U.P.! Smiles....Maggi
Hi Maggie...Thanks for the post. Sorry I have been so absent. Lucy(our dog to the left) has had another spell of serious health issues and our water went out..Ah life in the UP! But all is improving and I am going to stamp today!! I sent you a PM about the flyers. Thanks for doing this. Helen ( We only had snow in the sky and collecting a bit on roofs..no ground accumulation..but COLD)..as I said, Ah life in the UP. Where you can wear shorts and mittens in the same day!
Thanks again Maggie..Just to remind stampers to let other interested stampers know to contact us ASAP...the list is at 31 and as JoAnn has mentioned..just room for a few more. Thank you to everyone who has sent the registration and $. It makes it easier for us to get to work on swap numbers and details! Enjoy the day! Helen
Posters are up in the local grocery stores in Marquette, Negaunee and Ishpeming. If anyone wants to put any up in their local area let us know and we will forward them to you. I know it's hard for someone who hasn't had the awesome experience we have had at this event to commit to something so far away timewise...but believe me you don't want to miss out on this! Smiles....Maggi
Thank you Maggie..It is almost May and that brings us closer to July!! I am going to try out my swap and shoebox sometime soon ...pretty exciting! Helen
I'm starting to work on (okay, think about) swaps... do you think you'll try to split the group into two for the shoebox swap again or just go with them all?
Hello Sue! We are working on total numbers and hope to have the details and numbers ready for everyone within a week or so. Isn't it fun planning!..I have some ideas..just to sit down and see if what is in my head can come out in paper!! Details soon!! Helen

Also a little heads up (being an enabler here!) . Joan and Sharon will again have products available for purchase. They will post their specifics later but I thought some of you might want to start shopping!! It would be best to contact them ahead of time for availablity and if you want a specific item. I am ready and anxious to make a start on my regular swap and pretty well done "thinking through" my shoebox...it's getting closer! Yipee..Have a good week all. Helen
Good morning all! Please check out post#3 for the most current and probably final list of stampers. Also check to see if you are correctly marked for registration (*) and payment ($). If anything is in error, please pm or email me. Thanks so much!!! Helen ;)
Greetings all...hope the wind hasn't taken you away..glad I have a big dog not a little Toto today. Please check out Post #1 for the most recent information. Hi all! There have been some ?? about the "Dirty Gertie" game so I hope this clears it up. To play the game all you will need is one package of 3 cards. They can be something you have recently made, part of your stash (we all have one...) etc. All three are packaged together and wrapped however you wish. Then we will play the exchange game with those packaged cards. We will not have the handmade gifts these year so that you will have more time to prepare swaps and materials for the shoebox. Please let me know if you have any more ????? Helen
Greetings to you all! I am hoping that you are having a very special weekend . I am enjoying a cool but sunny morning, UP weather at its best. Time to start thinking about those swaps!! See you in July....Helen
Greetings! I know what you mean Amy..I have my regular swap figured out but just not ready to make that first cut..One day soon I will just have to dive in and give it a start!! Helen ;)
Yes, Good for you, Helen. Wish I were that far. I should have started today, but I was pouting. The bus didn't stop in L'Anse last night because of the ____ streetdance. Now I leave tonight at 12:50 a.m. Two nights in a row of this is 2 nights too many. Talk to you next week.

Hey fellow Yoopers....have we had enough rain yet??? I know we all wished we'd get some but come on...this is enough already! Today I was at the local Farmers and Artists Market and it started to "lightly mist" and before I knew it we were wet! Ughh!! It's looking like they are going to "make it" but it was scary! New rule: do not go out with your cards even if it just looks like rain!
anyhow...it's time to get this thread on to the front page and for all of us to start chatting about the upcoming "Stamping in the UP #3"...of which I have not even started to do one thing!!! Did I mention I work best under stress??? And I'm now stressed!
Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy 4th. of July! Smiles...Maggi
Great to hear from you Maggi ! I have started my swaps!! Not bragging here..just realized that some family visits right close to the end of the month will not give me much time! And when the sun chooses to shine I like to get outside! I don't want to make any cards with smushed bug life..Hope everyone starts chiming in and we can chat till the big weekend. Happy 4th to all!! Helen
